  1. I agree with you completely. A run-first attack is what we are built to be, but we don't seem to have an offensive identity yet. Our strength is the run game and that will make Trent's job easier. But he needs to show he can go deep consistently and accurately to back defenders out of the box. And yes, he definately needs a legit tight end safety valve to go to. A pass catching tight end is what our offense needs more than anything.
  2. It did, we got Lynch out of the deal and wound up with Puz. I wanted Willis too but if we got him then we would have wound up with Michael Bush or Michael Pittman at RB.
  3. Schwartz would be lucky to win four games next year. They don't have the personnel to pull an Atlanta or Miami. They won't turn it around until a star QB is in place.
  4. I love the guy and I do think he's the answer at QB for us. But he needs to get and stay healthy. I don't care if he has sugery all over his body and has his bones coated with metal. Whatever. Sleep in a hyperberic chamber every night for all I care. Just get and stay healthy. If he can play a full 16, we'll make the playoffs.
  5. Opinions change every year. When the Bucs won the Super Bowl and most recently, when the Colts did, Cover 2 was great and those zone blitzes were being "phased out." Chicaga ran a great Cover 2 only a few years ago, one that ranked number one and only allowed 12 points per game. What a ridiculous article. There is a huge difference between fact and opinion. And it's on us to know the difference. This guy is spewing opinion. No defense, no scheme will work unless you have the personnel to run it. Period. I'm not saying Cover 2 is the best scheme out there but this article is so absurd. The Cover 2 will work when you have a solid D-Line to pressure the QB, quick LBs who can cover and a top safety to make plays. Defenses evolve, yes, but if you actually listen to the DCs themselves and not the talking heads, you'd know that these are just base packages and that they run different formations and variations throughout their play calling. It's way to easy to point and find similarities in teams that are in the playoffs and teams that aren't.
  6. No. He was a mega-talent. He was amazing in Tennesse, both as a CB and returner but he hasn't been the same since his suspension. He sucks and he's a douche bag.
  7. St. Louis tried to give him the job mid-season but the NFL voided his deal re: the Rooney Rule. Now he's out completely? That sucks. Cost him a tidy sum.
  8. You're just figuring this out now? It's mind-boggling. Other than Marinelli, no one deserved to be fired more than Jauron. What a joke.
  9. Who cares if he sucks a lot, Chris Kelsay has a high motor and good character. It's the best of both worlds. Wow.
  10. I agree with you. And I'm not just saying that because I bought an Edwards jersey after Week 4. Seriously though, I think Trent's gonna be a good one moving forward. Provided he can stay healthy.
  11. Personally, I think Eli is a good QB, but not great. He's a legit starter but nothing special. And if the Giants fans wanna be mad at someone it should be Plaxico Burress.
  12. Some of the decisions have been a little puzzling.
  13. Frankly, I'm a little surprised by his decision. Despite missing a few games and playing hurt, he still managed 8.5 sacks while playing in the SEC.
  14. Greggo had a one year deal with Jacksonville.
  15. Brown is my favourite right now too. He's so quick and explosive off the line. He produces and is a hungry sack artist. 6'4" 252lbs is great size for a red shirt junior. He can put on ten lbs no problem. I don't think he'll have any problem holding up his own in the NFL. I've only seen a little video of him, but he looks like a good fit to me. I can definately see him wearing Bills blue next season. In regards to the other pass rushers: Orakpo: Workout warrior, yes, but I'm not sold on him yet. Played okay against OSU. Hardy: Very hot and cold. When he's on, he's unblockable. But he disappears in games and injuries are a concern. Johnson: Great size/athletic ability but the production is lacking. Screams bust to me. Maybin: Should of stayed in school for one more year. Only 235lbs. But he's a sack artist.
  16. Good luck with that.
  17. I'll have to agree. Brown's an animal, he is very explosive off the line and has great closing speed. Right now he looks like the best pass rusher in the draft.
  18. We have it pretty good, I guess. Cheapest seats in the league and no leases. But in exchange a crap product is put on the field.
  19. Some say we're crazy for talking about the '09 draft already. You're getting way ahead of yourself here.
  20. Another "I want criminals" thread. Ask the Bengals how that went. And to a lesser extent, the Cowboys.
  21. This is rumoured on ESPN too. Jerry Jones may not wanna eat that 12 mil bonus he handed out last year, though. Cutting TO leaves them a little thin at receiver and they don't have a 1st round pick. But he should be cut anyway, he is the worst teammate in the history of sports.
  22. I agree. He needs to put on 15-25lbs more. He would have benefitted from one more year in college.
