How bout this mock....I'd take it
lets_go_bills replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love that mock. It hits all our needs in the right order. I'd be ecstatic with that draft haul. -
I don't think any WR adjusts to the ball better than Fitz. Everyone knows he's getting the ball and they still can't cover him.

The Bills tried to sign Cam Wake...
lets_go_bills replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares? Now go sign Terrell Suggs, Russ. -
Brian Orakpo's Disappearing Act?
lets_go_bills replied to Chilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He didn't fare so well against OSU's Boone. -
Typically WRs are divas. They want the ball. Q was hurt but he was probably a little jealous of the 3 TDs Fitz put up. He just wanted to be in the game and get some touches so he could contribute to his teams win. Emotions sometimes get the best of you. Bottom line is he should have shut up and noticed how well they were playing and let it be. But he just wanted to get involved.

What if New England landed up with TO if Dallas were
lets_go_bills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would never happen. Moss and Owens don't like each other. Owens went on about the 81 thing and such. If Owens was cut I wouldn't be surprised. I also wound't be surprised if no one else picks him up. He is the worst teammate in the history of sports. Maybe Al Davis would take him in to be a Raiders bad-boy. Or possibly Washington. -
And the beat down they suffered at the hands of NE was a fluke? They walked a$$ backwards into the post-season. No doubt it was a humbling defeat, but Trent didn't play so who knows what might've happened. The Cards went 6-0 in their division, the weakest in the NFL, while going 3-7 against everyone else, making them 9-7. The Cards got hot at the right time, that's what it is, that's how you make it to the Super Bowl. Also, why don't you go and join the Cards board because your 'zona love affair is making me sick, first the numerous DRC threads, now this.

Could Evans ..all things being equal..
lets_go_bills replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not knocking Fitz because he's and all-world WR and a perrenial Pro Bowler, but if Evans played opposite Q, he'd put up the same numbers. Evans could dominate games, but he needs a QB to get him the ball and a good WR opposite to keep defenses honest. -
He's revitalized this franchise. He looked washed up in New York but he's brought this team to the Super Bowl. Mind you, it helps when you have both Fitz and Q to throw to. If the Cards win the Super Bowl and Warner has a big game, garnering MVP honours, I say his a lock for Canton. Probably not first ballot, but he should get in. Classic rags to riches story: the guy was bagging groceries, plays in the Arena league, NFL Europe, then Rams MVP and SB winner, now this. Great stuff.

Julius Peppers wants out
lets_go_bills replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could you imagine? Him and Ware rushing QBs. Yikes. -
Pettigrew would take pressure off of everyone on the offense. Insert Pettirgew and Trent has a safety valve. A guy who can catch underneath stuff and take it up the seam. This means less double coverage on Evans. It also opens up the run game. A pass catching tight end is just what the doctor ordered for this team.

Some thoughts re coordinators, Poz and recent drafts
lets_go_bills replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Agree. 2. Jauron's new contract gives him the power to hire/fire his coahcing staff. 3. Puz is still learning, this was his rookie season really. 4. Drafting is hit and miss, there is no "expert". It is such a crapshoot. Ngata should've been the pick though, yes. 5. Let's hope it doesn't 6. WR isn't a need. TE is. A pass catching TE will make life easier for everyone. Trust me on this. -
The reason Gruden was fired...
lets_go_bills replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe he was fired because other than winning a Super Bowl with Dungy's team handed to him, he coached an up and down, medicore team. Funny how his team started off good and crashed and burned down the stretch. That got him fired, unlike our HC. -
Good initial list. Sanchez over Stafford by one point is awesome. A little low for Oher and a little high for Maybin. Right now, the guys I like for us at 11 are Curry, Orakpo, Pettigrew, Maualuga, and Brown. Value meets needs.

We don't need a WR in this draft
lets_go_bills replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm surprised at how many of you think we need WR. Our WR corps is good, what we actually need is a legit pass catching Tight End. You'd be amazed at how that would pull our entire offense together. When a guy can catch underneath stuff and go up the seam, suddenly the run game opens, and safeties aren't rolling coverage to Evans. The lack of a pass catcher at TE is the one constant in our poor offense over the years. -
Julius Peppers wants out
lets_go_bills replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This now gives me that every-small glimmer of hope that we might sign this man (I know, I know). I think there's a small chance he could come here by way of the chance to play next to Stroud as a selling point. But I don't see Ralph opening the cheque book for him. But Peppers said he wants to play in a 3-4 scheme. Weird that he would want to switch positions at this stage in his career. I suppose he saw what DeMarcus Ware did this year and wants similar number. -
Anything written by Matt Bowen is not a must read.

Mark Cuban's total fines paid to NBA now $1MM
lets_go_bills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good for him. He actually cares about his team, tells it like it is and sits in the stands, taking it all in and cheering his team on. He's one of the best owners in sports. He gives it his all and is 100% committed to building a winner. He should sell the Mavs, not buy the Cubs and buy the Bills. -
Sweet! Thanks for posting Senator. I loved that quote. And that really is what football is all about. I actually have a friend who's a huge Bills fan and has had Season's Tix for 16 years. We talk Bills a lot and earlier this year he said to me that he wanted use our whole draft to draft the entire Texas Tech line to come and play for us! Clearly Leach knows a thing or two about lineman. That's why he enjoys success. His QBs can throw a lot because they have a nasty and talented line that gives the guy all day to throw. When you have a good O-Line, any back can run well and any QB can pass. When you have a good D-Line no back can run on you and QBs are hurried, pressured and sacked. It's simple, it's basic, it's effective, and it's how you play football.
-
Did you hear his quote on O and D lineman? It was on the Shredd and Ragan show, I think. It was awesome, he believes in "nasty, fightin, snot-nosed meanies in the trenches." Or somethin like that. He knows it's all about the boys up front.

I think the Jets will call Gruden. Could you imagine if Oakland brought him back!? Pioli could can Herm and try Jon. And he could also be lured by the chance to coach Jackson, Holt and Bulger in St. Louis. I think he'll very much be in the mix with other teams this year. But he may opt for time off and come back next year, but then again why would he wanna compete with Shanny and Cowher for jobs next year? We'll see. I just wish it was our team in the mix of looking at these guys. Maybe next year...

USC QB Mark Sanchez set to declare for the draft
lets_go_bills replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He probably would benefit from one more year by showing he's consistent as a passer. But his Rose Bowl performance was lights out. Also, the rape accusation is a concern but he was never even charged. Anybody can accuse anybody of anything. He'll have to answer questions about it, no doubt. Team will grill him hard about at Combine interviews. A lot of guys have question marks but some of these guys are taken advantage of because people know they're stars and will make it big, scoring multi-million dollar contracts. People are greedy and want a taste. The world is full of crazy people who'll sell their souls for money. These such people accuse up and comers of crazy stuff. Most recently, some of our young guys had past question marks. Lynch and Hardy. -
That means Brett Favre won't retire. Gruden wanted him.

They also canned their GM. Wow. Wonder why they waited this long. Needless to say I'm shocked.
