  1. Yep. I guess the "reality" is that someone will get a spot on the Cowboys training camp roster. Mind you, he'll get cut rather quickly. I don't envision another Vince Papale here.
  2. I like it, but I would love for it to unfold like this: Sign Birk and Suggs. Draft Maulauga and Coffman, 1 and 2.
  3. It'll just be like Pros vs. Joes: athletic guys who played in college but never parlayed that into a pro career. Sounds like a cool idea for a show and is a great opportunity for some people, but I think it'll be stupid to watch.
  4. Agreed. The collective opinion on Raji from what I've read on numerous draft pages is that he projects best as a nose tackle and would fit best in a 3-4. This is because he is big and can occupy blocker and clog holes while holding his own at the point of attack overtop of the center. And I agree that Raji is the consensus top DT in this draft, but if he doesn't fit our scheme and/or doesn't stand much of a chance to improve our defense, do we really want him? Also, based on the team we fielded for the '08 season, it is quite clear that offense was our problem. FA will tell, but I'd prefer to see Buffalo nab a DE in round one, then dedicate the rest of the draft to offense.
  5. Who doesn't want government aid? People saw what Citi and the Detroit 3 got, so it's a "why not us too" mentality. Heck, even Larry Flynt asked for a bailout to help the "ailing" adult entertainment industry.
  6. We'll know more after free angency. One thing's for sure though, we need a DE, C, TE, and OLB. All of whom can start right away.
  7. lol, sorry dude. We could debate semantics all day. But Donovan McNabb's grass was burned! Take however you want it, though.
  8. The gas doesn't have to be lit, the fuel itself burns the grass. There's probably a reason you've never heard of people using diesel to fertilize their lawns.
  9. Unless the Bills intend on bringing someone in via FA and/or the draft, they should keep him. It's good to be able to rotate your DTs. Stroud, Williams and Johnson, it's a decent rotation.
  10. What's he gonna do, come in and say we stink, don't expect much, we have no QB?
  11. I know, he's a 3-4 guy, but he's played OLB and DE in that formation, I really like his ability to rush the passer. He has played down in a three-point stance in the Ravens' scheme. He played DE at Arizona State. Teams take DEs and make them into OLBs, why not the other way around? Either way he's running up-field, taking on guards and tackles, rushing the passer. It's all about attacking the pocket/QB, he can do it in a 4-3.
  12. I can't wait for FA. Then we can know where we're going with this pick. I'd love the Bills to sign someone like Birk or Brown to cover the center need, then make Suggs a big offer and bring him in. Then we can go DT and TE, 1 and 2.
  13. I disagree. The age thing is a huge deal and you know it. Don't misunderstand me, Jackson is a great runner, but he's excelled only in relief of Lynch. These two guys make each other better, pure and simple. You bust that up and our offense gets a lot worse, even with Boldin. They run different and this keeps teams off balance. I must say again that having two legit RBs is the norm in the NFL, and is what you need to succeed. Peterson/Taylor, Williams/Stewart, Johnson/White, Jacobs/Ward, Lynch/Jackson. Jackson did great when he came in and I said that all along, read my post. Lynch and Jackson are an awesome combo and both are great RBs. My point all along has been how insane your post is, lol. Keep in mind, I think Anquan Boldin is the best WR in the NFL and love him, he's a beast. But a great RB for a great WR makes no sense. And no one is denying how it is easier to learn RB than WR in the NFL neither. You don't exile RBs for WRs, EVER.
  14. I don't want to read into it too much because it's practice, but you have to love how someone gets called out by a very good draft guru/talent evaluator and answers the bell by coming out and playing big. DE, TE and OC are priority needs but you shouldn't reach for guys, you should take the best player available. And if that happens to be Raji come draft day than by all means, insert him next to Stroud and watch pockets collapse and run games get stuffed!
  15. I'm not an insider because paying to read things on the internet is insane so it's the first 16 picks only. 1 Detroit Matthew Stafford QB Georgia 2 St. Louis Andre Smith OT Alabama 3 Kansas City Mark Sanchez QB USC 4 Seattle Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech 5 Cleveland Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest 6 Cincinnati Jason Smith OT Baylor 7 Oakland Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri 8 Jacksonville Eugene Monroe OT Virginia 9 Green Bay Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio St. 10 San Francisco Aaron Maybin DE/OLB Penn St. 11 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St. 12 Denver B.J. Raji DT Boston College 13 Washington Brian Orakpo DE Texas 14 New Orleans Vontae Davis CB Illinois 15 Houston Everette Brown DE Florida St. 16 San Diego Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=3850049 He has us going Pettigrew despite Orakpo, Brown and Raji still on the board.
  16. We don't fire incompetent coaches. We promote them!
  17. Lynch is 22, Jackson is 27. Lynch IS the better RB and that's why he starts, Jackson spells him. They are a great one two punch. You're a fool if you believe we'd be fine with just Jackson. It would destroy our ground attack. Your trade scenario is unrealistic and makes no sense. And as I stated, what good is a strong stable of WRs when we don't have a QB who can consistently get them the ball? None. I think it's funny that just because you have a keyboard and access to the internet, you think you can be a GM. A RB for a WR, Lynch for Boldin ridiculous.
  18. Mayock was talking last night at how Raji got blown up a few times in yesterday's practice. On one play he said Mack drove him 10 yards downfield. Maybe he's settled in now and just had to shake off a little rust.
  19. Might as well call a spade a spade, huh?
  20. Is it bad that I thought the post topic meant that Peters was out of peanut butter? Fat guy, hungry, needs a new contract to "feed his family."
  21. Me neither, which is why carzy was in parenthesis. But yeah, Cards fans didn't even buy up the tix to their first playoff game, they needed a freaking extension on the deadline. Very depressing, especially knowing what some of us would give for the chance to buy Bills playoff tix.
  22. We need a center and Mack is very good. But let's not kid ourselves, defensive end and tight end need to be addressed first. I think a good center can rather easily be had in free agency.
  23. Sorry if re-post. Check it: "Two Arizona Cardinals fans hung their team's flag in a tree and burned "Go Cards," "Go Kurt," and "I heart AZ" in McNabb's yard with diesel fuel, Chandler police Sgt. Joe Favazzo said Tuesday." Full article: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/foot...n.ap/index.html Some crazy people, wow!
  24. Love Q but, hell no. RB is way more important than WR. All you have to do is hand the RB the ball. WRs are useless unless you can get them the football. I believe in run-first offences. You run to set up the pass, you run to wear down defenses, you run to control the clock. Interesting question though. If you stayed with the same position and asked Evans for Boldin, then I'd say Q for sure. Love Lee and nothing against him, but I love Q more and I honestly think he's the best WR in the league.
