BUMP. I think this thread deserves a second look since it was sidetracked on the first go around. The original sentiment is quite deserved by SDS and Co. This is a great forum to come together with Bills fans from around the globe and I know that all of us really appreciate the effort it takes to keep it going.

For the record: I'm not fascinated with Russ Grimm as a head coach candidate.

That's the way I see it too. Cowher first and Billick a distant second. They both bring instant credibility and are clearly better than anything we've seen here since the glory years.

Exactly, plus they are finishing strong and will get a couple of major players back off of IR next season. Looks like the Panthers up and down trend will continue with next season being a playoff year.

I think that a division 1 playoff would be a TV ratings bonanza. They could even merge the current bowl system into a playoff by attaching the sponsor names to individual games. I think it's ridiculous to keep this lame bowl system in place.

Go ahead and apply that standard to Schottenheimer, Rivera, Haslett, and other names being thrown around. Who is a better available candidate than Cowher?

I would take Billick as a second. But I think that all of the other names that are being thrown around just won't cut it in terms of assuring victory in our division.

The Rivera rumor is more underwhelming speculation surrounding OBD. I believe that Nix slightly improves this franchise and the coaching hire will a major determining factor of this team's future. The bar is set very high in our division and this is the time to go big or go home. To me there is only one guy out there that would inspire true confidence of nearly immediate and most likely long term success and that is Cowher. Anything less means more of the same.
