  1. Oh Yeah? Maybe we should .... Ask Willie.
  2. I honestly couldn't tell you. I'm a pretty big sports fan, watch sports, listen to local sports radio, and as I said, you wouldn't know that the NHL existed here. It's all pro and college football and basketball. I have no idea what the attendance is in Raleigh, but I'm sure that it wouldn't kill them to regionalize by sending 4 out of 41 home games to Charlotte.
  3. More miscategorized songs... It's Over O.K. Dean, I think I need a Coke and a Kleenex now.
  4. You could say that.
  5. I don't need a lesson about the Blues. I have contributed many "authentic" Blues selections to this thread. Tonight I merely mean "sad songs".
  6. You da man!
  7. I've been in Charlotte for 15 years. You wouldn't know that the NHL exists down here. The Carolina Hurricanes are a 2 1/2 hour drive away, yet there is never any mention of them on the news or any TV coverage of the games. We have a brand new arena downtown (Bobcats) where the Canes could play a few game a season (ala Bills-TO) but no, the Rangers AA team plays here. I take the family at least once a season. It's pretty sweet paying $8.50 per beer while watching AA talent.
  8. I and Love and You.
  9. I consider myself a beer connoisseur and was disappointed with 6/9. Although 69 is not a bad place to find yourself!
  10. 6 out of 9.
  11. So I polished off a 6 pack of Molson XXX. Too bad I only bought a 6'er! So now I'm working on the 7 remaining Coors Light's that are in the garage fridge. That's a Blues song in the making right there - having to switch from xxx to Rocky Mountain piss water. Back to the music... Son House - Death Letter Blues. BLZFAN has the blues this Thursday night because tomorrow marks the two year anniversary of my mom's sudden death at 60 years old. Life is precious and fleeting.
  12. That's right blues fans BLZFAN is dusting off the Thursday Blues thread. I'm working on my 5th Molson XXX and this is just the type of mood that I'm in. Let's kick it of with There will be more to come. Good contributions are welcome.
  13. I'm sitting in the railway station. Got a ticket for my destination. On a tour of one-night stands my suitcase and guitar in hand. And ev'ry stop is neatly planned for a poet and a one-man band. Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound, Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing, Home where my love lies waiting Silently for me. Ev'ry day's an endless stream Of cigarettes and magazines. And each town looks the same to me, the movies and the factories And ev'ry stranger's face I see reminds me that I long to be, Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound, Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing, Home where my love lies waiting Silently for me. Tonight I'll sing my songs again, I'll play the game and pretend. But all my words come back to me in shades of mediocrity Like emptiness in harmony I need someone to comfort me. Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound, Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing, Home where my love lies waiting Silently for me. Silently for me.
  14. "Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat" -"We smoked the last one an hour ago" So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine And the moon rose over an open field "Kathy, I'm lost," I said, though I knew she was sleeping I'm empty and aching and I don't know why Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike They've all gone to look for America All gone to look for America
  15. Did I mention that it took him four minutes to spit out that one sentence?
  16. I really don't get the John Fox bashing either. He's a pretty good coach. The middle of his starting D was decimated by season ending injuries from day 1 this season and the Panthers finished strong. His philosophy is to have a strong running game and tough defense. He was loyal to his starting QB to a fault, but overall, has done a fine job in Carolina. I would welcome John Fox (with a good OC) to Buffalo. Only drawback is we would be sick to death of hearing "it is what it is" at every press conference.
  17. How about this one, Ralph Wilson from 11/02/09 HOF ring ceremony after cancelling the half-time ceremony during the Browns game... Is that priority 1 Ralph? Really?
  18. Rainy day people.
  19. I don't see why not. Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders were involved in two different sports at once.
  20. I've got to agree with you. We were teased with hopes of bringing in a proven winner. Now it's looking like our next head coach will be a typical, textbook Ralph Wilson hire... - No NFL head-coaching experience. - Can be signed at the low end of HC salaries. Therefore his assistants will be paid at the low end as well. - Won't rock the boat on personnel decisions. - Will be in over his head the AFC East. - The front office will polish and present the new "candidate", say he was their man all along (even though they have been linked to 37 candidates before his name popped up) and 85% of the fan base will have kool aid dripping down their chin because they can't gulp it down fast enough!
  21. Yabba Dabba Doo!
