  1. There's no place like home.
  2. ... the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
  3. That's easy, there isn't a woodchuck alive that could chuck Chuck Norris. The biggest baddest mother!@#$ing woodchuck would quiver in fear in the presence of Chuck Norris!
  4. You can't handle the truth!
  5. Life is like a box of chocolates.
  6. - Just thought of another one, St. Pauli Girl comes in a green bottle. Right now I'm working on my seventh 1888 Bock by Leinenkugel and I am thoroughly enjoying every single sip! Hey, you know what
  7. I heard a story on NPR (about 3:30) today about the liquidation of Circuit City. They interviewed a few employees and the main theme was that it was very frustrating dealing with customers at the end. - When the liquidators took over, they actually increased prices so they could pay back creditors and make a profit themselves. - Had to tell customers that they no longer accepted CC credit cards. - The customers' mantra became "...that's why you're going out of business" no matter what they were unhappy about, they would end their remark with "that's why you're going out of business". Anyway, it definitely reminded me of you. I don't know if NPR categorizes all of their stories on-line, but it might be worth checking out.
  8. It may just be that not too many beers come in green bottles. I can only think of a few good ones that do, Stella Artois for one, and Spaten Munich (regular, oktoberfest, and optimator).
  9. They're safely tucked away in between his mattress and box spring. He sleeps very well on them every night.
  10. Penny pinching.
  11. I picked up a 6 pack of Sam Adams Noble Pils for the gold medal game last weekend. I thought it was just o.k. Just a little too citrusy for my taste. It wasn't a bad beer, but I wouldn't buy it again. Sam Adams does make a great Oktoberfest though.
  12. Didn't the head coach hiring tell you all that you need to know?
  13. I subscribe to Beer magazine. It comes every other month, has reviews of about 12 beers, interesting articles on all things beer related, and info on upcoming seasonal beers and beer fests. Anyone who's into beer would definitely enjoy Beer magazine.
  14. Wow, I'm finding common ground with The Big Cat. Nothing unites like The White Stripes and beer! Maybe you're not so bad after all. I'm a big fan of Bell's with my favorite being their amber ale. I've also enjoyed their third coast beer, pale ale, and best brown ale. Bells' products are a "can't miss". Ahhh, so many beers, so little time...
  15. I'll definitely have to try 3 Floyd's. Looks like great beer. I should like every one of their year-round beers.
  16. Never tried Old Rasputin. I've recently acquired a taste for the IPA's. My wife likes them and I used to think they were too bitter, but I'm coming around. I did have the Sierra Nevada IPA a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed them. A fresh keg of Maudite would be heaven! I had one for the first time a little over a year ago at Massanutten. They had a restaurant/bar with an awesome beer selection.
  17. Leinenkugel makes very good beer. I've had their Fireside Nut Brown, Classic Amber, and Oktoberfest. I was very pleased with all of them.
  18. The lime in Corona is used to mask the skunked taste and smell caused by clear bottles. Just a personal preference of mine, but I believe fruit and beer should never be combined in any way.
  19. Well, I'll put an optimistic spin on this one, he can't be worse than John McCargo!
  20. It depends on the way you look at it. 5 teams did say "thanks, but no thanks". It doesn't say much for him that he couldn't make the Panthers roster because DT Maake Kemoeatu lasted fewer than 30 minutes in Carolina's first training camp practice before tearing his right Achilles tendon, leaving the Panthers in disarray at the position where they entered with the least depth.
  21. I'll admit that I know nothing about this kid, but the fact that he couldn't stick with 5 different clubs is all I need to know.
  22. Yeah, I did think that Canada played a little dirty last time, especially around the net. Refs were pretty fair with the penalties though. NO Canada!!!
  23. Beating team Canada twice in a row is going to be an uphill battle. A lot of things went our way in the first game. We were heavily out-shot and were pretty fortunate to get the early goal and quickly answer their first goal. On paper they do have a more talented roster and they are now revenge-minded. Obviously Miller gives us a fighting chance and it was great to see an offensive explosion yesterday. I can't wait 'til Sunday night. USA! USA! USA!
  24. Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port Aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, The skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day For a three hour tour, a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed, If not for the courage of the fearless crew The minnow would be lost, the minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan The Skipper too, The millionaire and his wife, The movie star The professor and Mary Ann, Here on Gilligans Isle. So this is the talel of the castways, They're here for a long, long time, They'll have to make the best of things, It's an uphill climb. The first mate and the Skipper too, Will do their very best, To make the others comfortable, In the tropic island nest. No phone, no lights no motor cars, Not a single luxury, Like Robinson Crusoe, As primative as can be. So join us here each week my freinds, You're sure to get a smile, From seven stranded castways, Here on "Gilligan's Isle."
  25. Congratulations, keep it up! (says the guy with a beer label as an avatar.)
