  1. I think this one went over your head. He was clearly referencing Dante's Peak, that volcano movie starring James Bond.
  2. You'll shoot your eye out kid!
  3. Someone's going to have a good time! Take plenty pictures.
  4. Here is what I was thinking of. The Rooney Rule was established in 2003 to ensure that minority candidates be interviewed for any head coaching vacancy. The rule does not apply to interim hires in-season from a team's coaching staff. So if it is an interim basis in-season, there's no problem. But when you go fill the position full time, you must put on the dog and pony show.
  5. Ditto that. Sorry Joe.
  6. Didn't St. Louis get in trouble when they promoted Haslett without following the Rooney rule?
  7. One of the things I got was the Mr. Beer home brewing kit. Here's a youtube link. I got the ingredients to make several different styles of beer. I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried this and what you thought of the results. I'm partial to amber/brown ales.
  8. I know that Jerry Sullivan is disliked and unpopular with a lot of people around here. I really don't understand why. I think that he is mostly fair and correct with his criticism of this team/organization. I personally find him to be one of the most credible and accurate members of the Buffalo media (print, radio, and TV).
  9. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year. Wait til next year.
  10. Overall, I agree with your post. The Whitner pick was puzzling when it was made and trading up to get McCargo was devastating. However, Lynch a poor value, below average back? Hell no! This kid has got heart and I would love to have a roster of 53 guys with his attitude and dedication. His stats don't reflect well, IMO, because of poor run blocking, the O's inability to stretch the D, and his low carries per game. But I love the way he approaches and plays the game. I don't think I've ever seen a back that works so hard to get 3 yards the way that ML does. The one knock that I will go along with is that he doesn't have great hands. Coming out of college, I thought he was supposed to be a dual threat, but IMO, receiving is not a strong point.
  11. Well said! Merry Christmas to everyone and a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous '09!
  12. Merry Christmas everybody!!! click me.
  13. Who the hell do you think you are to impose "your best wishes" on me? Just kidding. That is some pretty good stuff. Merry Christmas!
  14. I don't know if you realize this or not, but you seem to be arguing with me over nothing. I said that I am and have been pulling for Trent Edwards from the beginning. He has had some highs and lows. He needs to become consistent to prove that he's the man. What is your problem with that assesment? By the way Todd, have you ever heard
  15. Right!!! 3 more years! 7-9 Forever!
  16. I can honestly say that I have never been so happy to see some-one's career come to an end in Buffalo. JP Losman is nothing but a delusional, immature, mentally challenged, waste of a first round pick. Adios, sayonara, good riddance, don't let the door hit ya, HALLEF'NLUJAH, so long sucker!!!
  17. So, because Eli Manning had two tough seasons before he found success, means that given enough time, ANY QB will do the same? THAT sounds pretty stupid to me.
  18. I'd shiv the mofo and grab the ticket.
  19. First of all, don't get me wrong. I have been a huge supporter of TE from the very beginning. The fact is, that I am cautious now, because of his performance during this season's melt down. A lot of people, including teammates, crowned Trent after the San Diego win. At that point, I also thought that we had finally found that elusive franchise QB. But if you paid attention to how TE performed (with YOUR blinders off) as we went 0-3 against the division, you'd realize that he still has a lot to prove. 1 pick and two fumbles against Miami. 2 picks against the Jets, one for 6 points that cost the game. 2 picks against NE. 3 first quarter picks against Cleveland. The fact is, TE was a big part of this season's collapse. If you don't consider that inconsistent, then I can't help ya!
  20. Sunday's game was definitely a step forward for TE. He took a couple of serious hits in that game and hung in there. He has been very inconsistent in his first two seasons though. I would obviously like to see him and the team end this season on a high note with a solid performance against the Patsies.
  21. It took a while, but his radio show really grew on me. Then when I really liked it, he was replaced by Cowhead. I think that he adds nothing to the booth on MNF. I'm not part of the over-the-hill gang, so for me, MNF was at its best with Michaels, Dierdork, and Gifford.
  22. At the risk of being crucified by the PC police, I agree. I think you can stereotype Jewish entertainers by calling them whining and complaining without being bigoted. Look at Jerry Seinfeld's entire career. Quit being so damn sensitive people!
  23. ... A position I'm SURE that you are all too familiar with.
  24. Pat, I'd like to buy a vowel.
  25. IF they can win, it would be a good ending to a terrible season. It would be great to knock N.E. out of the playoffs. It would still mean that we finished 1-5 in the division and Dick Jauron came nowhere near getting the most out of this roster.
