  1. I e-mailed them 2 weeks ago and they responded back via e-mail with a direct phone # to the retention deptartment. After getting back from vacation, I thought about trying to do this via e-mail. (as I hate haggling on the phone) I requested the CSR to forward that e-mail to the retention dept. I'll let everyone how it goes.

  2. It's just our starting QB injured without a timetable, our second string QB with a career-threatening concussion, our three string undrafted rookie starting at QB, our number one DB out for 8 weeks, our new second string QB having never played a full season, both kickers being rookies and our franchise-tagged safety wanting a trade. It's actually not that bad.

Plus the bid bad Patriots* are coming to town!

  3. You should read his book. Just a great player and husband. It should be read by all football fans.

Peter King recommended the book a few years back when it was 1st published. Words can not say enough what an awesome book. If you liked him as a football player you'll like him even more for the person he is off the field.

It is a must read for football fans or If you know anyone dealing with "C".

Buy a big box of kleenex!

  4. I called a few days ago, I only carry DTV for the NFL, so I pay 29 a month all year and then the NFL package. I explained I didn't want to pay 360 for the full year just so I could watch 7-10 games a season for an additional 260 or whatever they were looking for. I asked to be cancelled. They offered new channels for free, then additional NFL packages for free, but I wanted the NFL free. She kept saying we hate to lose a loyal 14 year customer, yada yada, but I said if it isn't coming for free, I choose not to pay 29 a month for the option to pay an additional 260 for football.

Unless they call back within the next week, I will be watching local games (Giants and Jets) and will use my seasons a bit more. My couch will have less people on it, but my wing costs will decline with the lower attendance.

It was a nice run, but I think I am done with DTV.

I've been with them for 15+ years. I got the run around once 2 weeks ago ( I did not go to retentioni dept then). I them e-mailed them and got a direct # to the retention dept. I haven't called them yet ( I am letting the steam lift). They're going to get 1 attempt to get this right or I'll be an ex-directv customer for a very long time!

I really hate calling to beg to get better pricing. I understand it's a business but there has to be a better way.

BTW my contract is up 9/23/13, I;ve warned them that could very well be my last day with them.

  5. I could see us winnig 4 game before I could us winning 10. Rookie coach, QB and WR plus one of the worst defenses the NFL has seen in a while. Let's hope it really was the wrist and the coaching that led to this.

I hope it's 10 wins but i'd be satisfied with team improvement and EJ playing well in the last 6-8 weeks of the year. Maybe 6-8 wins.

  6. "He is well respected around the league."

Not sure where that came from.

It's been a long 15 years rooting for this franchise. I'm Thankful that ol Ralphie isn't running the show any longer. However newer doesn't have to mean better. I'm still hopeful that it will be but only time will tell. If it's not it will bother me less and less each year. I think the term is apathy.

  7. Agreed. They just have the worst QB situation in the league though, IMO, and it's by far the best place for him to go and the best chance to make the team. I wouldn't have thought it was really possible before the draft, but he could even land on the practice squad and not be a real threat to be picked up.

True. As a 3rd string UDFA he's not only competeing against QBs in camp but other late august QB cuts. He's probably in the best summer training camp but it's not a given.

  8. I think the Steelers telling Bray that they were going to draft him was only a smokescreen to get Landry Jones' dad on board.

Bray's best bet is by far at KC anyway, They have a shaky starter and crappy back-up and a head coach not afraid to pull a QB. He'll make the 400K or so that is the minimum this year and continue to be an overly cocky project.

This assumes he makes the team. Most UDFA's don't (being an imature tool won't help him), so the 400k is not guaranteed.

  9. I too miss the Saturday and Sunday draft weekend. The Thurs-Sat is growing on me. Especially the reset on Friday @ 6 and Saturday morning.

I usually consume adult beverages and lots of bad food, while the wife watches Greys Anatomy...

For those of you turning off after we pick @ 8, you may miss a trade back into late 1st for a QB.

  10. http://profootballta...in-first-round/

Viking want to move down in the first road to take a WR for losing Percy Harvin (Patterson, Austin).

We pick up their 23rd or 25th and also gain another pick in the 2nd round to help them move up at least 15 spots.

Pick up our quarterback here and possibly our WR and LB in the 2nd that could possibly be starters. If our WR or LB is there that we wanted to get rid of we take a TE.

    Thoughts???

It appears to be a buyer's market (more teams want to trade down) but I would want something more than just a 2nd to move down that far. Maybe next years 3rd rounder as well.

the chart says 1400 for 8th. 760 for 23, 390 for 51st and about 175 for next years 3rd. this would work for me.

    Now make it happen Buddy!
