They don't want to risk Tyrod getting injured and be on the hook for his contract extension.
This +1
-
he has 31 games as Assistant HC. He's not interviewing for OC.
My bad was unaware of the AHC title.
-
every coordinator will have a few of those moments. you cant kill him on one particular. its when they become too common that its an issue.
I would eliminate him because he only has 14 games as an OC.
-
YESSSSS. Who's next?
-
I didn't get why the Bills didn't pooch kick it after they went ahead by three points? The Dolphins were getting good field position on kickoffs, so it was another boneheaded move to kick it deep which the Dolphins had another good run back.
I was hoping for a squibb kick as well.... Out coached everywhere today.
-
There's 27 million reasons to run Tyrod out of town.
I'm ok with keeping TT. That 27 million will have to be restructured. I believe they cut him if he doesn't come off that figure. I'm not sure who we would be bidding against? Denver, 49ers maybe Jets?
-
I'm on record for trading for AJ MCcarron. Give him an incentive laden contract where we can cut and run if he doesn't pan out. Draft another guy. Let Cardale, the draftee and Mccarron battle it out. Draft a RT and a safety and sign a good veteran WR.
That would be my perfect off season.
-
I watched the game as we were putting up Christmas decorations so ... Did Watkins even dress for this game?
-
I believe if Bill reads these he'd be in agreement.
How can a team with their whole season on the line look so out coached & play with so little heart? Ryan boys have to go. TT take your place on the bench.
-
Yep.
It felt like they collectively realized they would have to play another game if they made the playoffs then each individual unit made sure that wouldn't happen.
Coaches included! The F'ing wildcat has to go. Never liked it + the timing of when to use it was even worse.
-
McCarron is the guy i'd target. I realize he's still under contract for 2017, but if he's someone you like, why not? Let the trade talks begin as soon as they can.
Then spend our #1 on a RT and our #2 on a safety (or vice versa and assuming we didn't send it to Cincy) sign a nice #2 WR and we win the off season again!
I'm not totally against Glennon, I just need someone with more than knowledge than me to explain/define his upside.

wow so many ignorant disrespectful posts. die trying? headaches? china doll? so weird all the hate.
You must be new. Welcome
-
Plus all the times you fail, it's a momentum let down. We scored a TD but only up by 6....
-
Buttttt Tyrod is not a starting QB.
Ugly wins are still a W!
-
Tyrod is trying. He's just not good. It's really that simple.
It's 11 oclock some where, do you know where you back up qb is?
-
Agreed. I don't care what it looked like, I don't care about thier kicker missing PAT's, I don't care about Green's hamstring. I don't care about Tryod's 27 million next year. We had to have this one, we got it. Next week we can't come out flat against the Jags. There is still hope because of today.

I like Bob Woods as a player. I bet he's even a good locker room guy as he doesn't seem to B word about his role on the team. I just can't wrap my brain around the 9+ million per year figure. I would love him at a lesser # say 6-7 million per. How the hell did Austin get all that cash? Looks like a GM stating he's not a bust because we just paid him 10 million per. (just like KC did with OT Eric Fisher).
FYI, I'd be on board for Britt or Garcon at the correct #'s.

Everyone knows who those 2 are...but here is my BIG issue with your post.
I am really, really, really, really tired of people posting ONLY passing stats on Tyrod while COMPLETELY ignoring his ability to run, the damage and scoring he does on the ground, and the dynamic it adds to our offense in both the passing and run game for teams having to defend it.
So no disrespect, but your stat line above to show Tannehill in a better light is utterly pointless. Also, I would bet you BIG MONEY that there is not a GM in the NFL that would take Tannehill and his contract right now over Tyrod and his contract. Miami is stuck with that awful deal, and Tannehill is NO WHERE close to living up to it and I would argue is having a worse season than Taylor when you factor Tyrods ground game in. Tyrod, who has been limited with poor weapons to throw to most the year, injuries to the OL, etc has a very friendly contract that leaves the door open to move on if he can't get the job done.
No offense, but this was an EPIC fail on a comparison post.
Agree on most points in here. Tannyehill is Rob Johnson 2.0 to me (except not as injury prone), I live in Davie and see way too many Dolphin games. Most of my Dolphin friends cant wait for him to be gone. He has the least pocket awareness in the NFL.
-
Rob Ryan ruined him down there. That's gotta be it.
Actually heard it was the other way around. Man it was difficult to type that!
-
Our players typically fly to blount so we should be fine.
I see what you did there
-
At least he is keeping busy.
This is the kind of go getter we're looking for!
-
Maybe Rex should get an extra point specialist? 3 Kickers on game day.
-
I think right now it's a no for TT and a yes for Watkins for most of the reasons stated above. Hopeful they are both a definitive yes for both after 14 games with a different OC and playcaller.
-
I thought about posting this same topic a few weeks earlier. I believe he has value as a backup. Say a 3 year deal for 2.5-3 million per + incentives. The issue is if he were to sign a deal like that he'd be giving up the chance to become a starter again. I think Doug would be up this this but not EJ's camp. Time will tell.
Plus lets see how things work out with Ty and the new OC.
