I hate that they let Schwartz walk, Thurman as DC was worthless, good CB coach worthless DC which means that Rex is going to spend too much time on helping out as DC where as he should have focussed on being a HC.
All our coaches are retained atm, which is a good thing. Get the new HC in here and let him decide who stays and goes. Hopefully we can keep the defensive side all together.
Maybe he was told to keep playing RGIII?
Besides, a previously proven coach with an awfull stint behind him in DC has something to proof, lead Buffalo to the Superbowl and he'll secure his HOF.
Marrone wanted a valid QB option to backup and take over from EJ if EJ didnt pan out or got injured, such was very clear with that argument between him/Russ/Whaley at TC.
Right after, sign doodle, Whaley/Marrone fight, release doodle, sign Orton.
No issues at all, what's the load with the current news? Getting gameday like traffic? If so I'm getting offfseason like performance out of the board where it normally fails to load after a game is finished.
Why is it that everbody buys into the Marrone hated the Buffalo media angle so much? The source of that is the same Buffalo media, seems very narcistic to me. Is it because we all hate the BUffalo media and therefor find it easy to buy into? That's what I find laughable.
It's the only logical conclusions that can be drawn based on the performance of the front office over the past 15 years. Your HC walking out on your team because he didnt like the media that is illogical.
Loosing continuitiy in a situation that was actually showing forward progress. A new HC means a new QB, which most likely will be a rookie, which in turn requires trading up and loosing more draft picks etc. Playing a rookie QB means not getting in the playoffs for sure (only one rookie QB made it to the playoffs ever and lost). QB aside a new coach also means a roster turn over of at least 33% since he wants his guys etc.
It's the implections that you need to be worried about.
The point most people seem to be missing is that this whole HC takes clause and walks away thing points to one very clear thing;
I think through all the smoke and mirrors we can safely assume that the front office is not planning on extending Dareus and Hughes nor are they planning to go out and buy a top tier veteran QB.
It's the Bills of old in the front office.
I'd walk too.
No it makes sense but doesnt necessarilly relate to the TG story. Fact is that at 72 years old Polian thought it would be nice to be in an advise/support role to whaley and the organization but now he realised the organisation is heading towards a new and maybe even drastic rebuild the commitment is one that is far larger then just advising for one or 2 years.
So much for changing the culture, the culture beat Marrone, plus you have to wonder if this is a statement of trust in EJ by Marrone...
Bottomline, Pegula needs to do an exit interview with Marrone and fire all the lifers from the organisation, instantly.
Not changing the operation is a good thing, we've had way too many changes in the past 15 years. Make or break year next year for sure, put them under pressure but don't expect miracles to happen from change alone, if anything the last 15 years and other organizations have proven is that you need to stick to a plan in order to get somewhere.
He certainly might be more flexible, he's basicly settled for life, wants to come back and have fun. Offcourse he won't take scraps and wants a decent contract / respect but I dont expect him to drive it to the max. Then again his agent still has his wallet to fill too, in the end it's a business.
