  1. I basically feel that way, too...but I've been wrong before! Still, I can see the Jets caving and going through the motions by the end of the third quarter. Really hope I do a lot of dancing and SHOUT singing today.
  2. Good points. Here's the basic formula for the playoffs (and beyond): Win all your home games and split on the road. (8-0)+ (4-4) = 12-4...will do it every time. So far so good. Our guys are really good at math! They will not squander a strong, home-field advantage.
  3. It seems Norwood is being given his award between the first and second quarters, so no big halftime ceremony, as for Wall of Fame and other major events. This is as it should be. But, yeah, some strange elements are brewing for today's game. One thing's for sure, though: This team is disciplined, prepared and mentally tough. It doesn't let trivial things distract from the job at hand. Hope I'm kicking back in the upper deck at about 3:30 today, enjoying a 20 point lead. More likely this will be another 3 point game that will turn on one or two plays. Goodbye voice.
  4. FWIW, I feel there were weaker links on that team than Norwood. What are the chances, do you suppose, that Rian Lindell would knock down a 47 yarder off grass in one of the most pressure packed moments in football history?
  5. This. No need to mix personality with performance results.
  6. "A few years ago, ... we signed a guy and paid him a lot of money, and he lived in Florida," Wilson said. "And there was a very large bonus attached to the contract, and he wanted us to say the contract was signed in Florida so that he would not have to pay taxes to the state of New York. We held out and I said, 'No, this fellow is going to play in New York, he's going to pay New York.' We had a long hard fight on it. He wanted to sign in Florida. He wound up signing in New York." Who was this guy, anybody know? McGahee?
  7. Count me in. I'm expecting a great, whole team effort in a game that won't be all that close. I think Fitz was speaking the mindset of the team the other day when he said 5-2 will look a lot better than 4-3. These guys are focused on this game, sure, but they have the playoffs squarely in the crosshairs. I think their approach is that this is a must-win game.
  8. Great to see the Levy acknowledgment. You know, for all the pain Marv inflicted on us during his stint as GM, if Freddie turns out to be the engine that earns us a SB title, all will be forgiven!
  9. All I know is, if he keeps up this "torrid" pace and stays healthy, he'll overtake Bruce Smith sometime during the 2023 season!
  10. So very sad. A true southern gentleman with a big heart. The anchor of our offense. The pride of the Bills.
  11. Very well put...that sums it up nicely. I love that crafty southern way he has of dealing with reporters who ask dumb, long winded statement-questions. Just a little shake of the head, a certain look in the eye, maybe a very terse answer...as if to say "give it some thought and bring your "A" question next time. LOL, straight shooter, indeed. Chan Gailey, Coach of the Year!
  12. Yes, Namath is right...the Jets are really strugg-a-ling right now.
  13. They also had earned an opportunity to put the game away before a bunch of myopic-or worse- part timers took itaway from them.
  14. Total blown call in the Giants game, as well. Officiating in the NFL continues to be a crapshoot, year after year. And tomorrow morning the league will review this play, along with a lot of others, and the Bills will get a letter saying, "uh...sorry, looks like we got that one wrong".
  15. But that's precisely the point...we had all the momentum, and it was wrongly taken out of our hands. We were good enough to win and in control to do so. We shouldn't have had to be better than that. One opponent in a game should be enough.
  16. A single play at a critical juncture is often the difference between a win and a loss in the NFL. Happens every week to somebody.
  17. Of course he was pushed way out of the play. Give him credit for his speed and staying with it. Love the immediate turnover and Raven score!
  18. It was on the game reviews before Jets-Ravens kickoff.
  19. Tony Dungy said it was clearly a catch, and I'll respect his seasoned, impartial observation.
  20. Just before I moved up here. My God, was Fergy young! George Blanda! LOL that buffalo mascot at the end. Nice to see the crowd then was no different than today, some things never change!
  21. Maybe he sat around doing nothing the last few weeks and gained 50 pounds.
