Here's the only state that matters: 5-6 playoffs 0-0 in the Superbowl
-
because unlike our guy Reid was never playing for the FG in the first place
-
Saleh right out of the gate will jam our receivers at the line and rush 6 - he'd be dumb not to.

Great take Corta! Look, McD and Bean have a vision of what this football team needs to be, and they have been driving that vision for the last 7 years. I commend them for sticking to this vision but at some point, you need to adapt. People have DIED in this area waiting for a championship and all you need is one. You can be 1-17 after that, no one will care, I promise. Bean isn't worried about a championships, he is all about sustainability (said so himself) - that means can we keep asses in the seats and Terry has PSL's to sell. Sorry, that's just the reality of the business side of things, that's why he doesn't go all in - ever. He needs those draft picks and big occasional big names to get that done and if he gets a ring, so be it. Make the playoffs every year, keep the excitement there and sell hope. Defensively, McD is simple, hard-nosed smashed mouth tough play, he says it every year. Everybody talks about him being an Andy Ried product, and he is not - he is a Jim Johnson guy, through and through, who was a defensive genius and one of the best. Jim was a zone blitz master so I am kind of surprised we don't see more of that. You can say what you want about McD, nobody disguise's a defense like him, we just don't have the personnel to run it this year - they should probably be on the phone with Hyde, if at the very least, to settle that defense down on field. No teams should be hitting the 3rd and longs like that every time. The D looks confused, and the D line plays dumb and lazy most of the game, so busy rushing up field to pad that sac total, the nickel breaks when it gets to the second level because no Milano or Bernard to bail them out. (Insert screen or RB flairs here) Offensively, his QB is not built for dink and dunk move the chains ball and nobody is afraid of him anymore. Why should they be? Christ, he threw for 119 yards on Sunday, that's on Brady, who just like Daboll was forced into this bull#### offense where you need to bring out 12 personnel to get 3 yards - if you're lucky... Ultimately, the O-LIne needs to get mean, you need a solid #1 guy and Josh needs to be Josh. You can watch his thought process when he is ready to take off and force himself not to. The run run pass is getting old too, there has been no motion, play action, use of the TE's or change in the game plan from week to week. Teams are throwing the kitchen sink at Josh and he can't make them pay because 3 of the 5 wr's should be on a practice quad somewhere. We all KNOW we need a #1 WR that needs to be doubled or accounted for to keep defenses honest, but he won't give up the mediocre or draft picks to do it and never has since he's been here and he gave away Diggs, no matter the issue, Diggs is a pro and would have calmed down when the winning started. Game day - the Bills coaching absolutely takes bad decisions to a new level it seems every year, it's just assumed at this point. No matter what personnel you have, you fail to plan, plan to fail. In today's NFL, you can't spot teams 14 points and adjust at half time, those days are over. This coordinator (insert name here) experiments we've been doing, waiting for guys to learn on the fly, is old and wasting Allens career and believe me, there are people in his ear now about it, if I were his friend, I would be. He brings in "yes" men because ex head coaches might question him I guess (Frazier?) Who gets thrown under the bus this year? I think this season is like the others, even if they figure it out, I don't believe we have the depth to overcome it. I hope I am wrong, but I am pretty sure they will beat the crappy teams they should, win the East because it's just so bad and again one and done in the playoffs These guys will get another pass and we are one more step towards the next Phillip Rivers. Just my take

Belichick or McDermott. Who's the better coach?

DId that 350 G kick out 180 pound Benford to get that score?? Lucky we are stil in that nickel or they might pass it in to score LOL -
Josh Allen is making $60m this season

He's not wrong ya know -
What? What is the point? 6ths time's a charm this year? Maybe, we get by the first round? It is the very definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I don't get yours and some other people allegiance to a coaching franchise that has done nothing, except draft superman, which makes them look better then they are. Let me ask you this and if you don't get it, then maybe you missed the point. If Mahomes was a Bill and Allen a Chief how many rings does Allen have? Just curious your thoughts
-
I guess if you think about it - we can see this as a potential playoff match up (if we even make it) and most of us are having flashbacks of the last 5 and outs and see that nothing really has changed, has it? The Bills are still relying on Clark Kent to put on his cape, and score primary on scramble drills. Still run a cover 3 defense 70% of time which they no longer have the personnel to play. They trotted out that nickel again from play 1 against 250 pounds of HOF muscle in Henry and got destroyed and it wasn't until after we spotted them 14 that they finally added a real LB into the mix - They have neutered Allen, any ham and egger can throw the wheel routs but think about it, when is the last time he's thrown deep to the post or to the flag? They were stacking 10 men in the box all night long and that offense stayed the move the chains Ryan Tannehill course, teams are simply not afraid of the deep ball anymore and they don;t need to play honest.

Seriously?? Let me Google that for you - Bill Belichick, the NFL head coach: Career wins: Belichick is third all-time in career wins with 302. Super Bowls: Belichick has won six Super Bowls, which is a record. Conference titles: Belichick has won nine conference titles, which is a record. Coaching tree: 17 of Belichick's assistant coaches have become head coaches in the NFL and college. Defensive coordinator: Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants when they won Super Bowls in 1987 and 1991... where he beat Marv Levy You can feel the way you feel but it doesn't support the numbers, sorry. All that garbage of AFC titles and best arm strength or whatever you think matters doesn't. It's all about the Lombardi. McD is Andy when he was in Philly, hit a ceiling and it's time to move on.
-
Really? you're the guy that would be defending Marv Levy, greatest roster ever assembled some would argue, and just could not get it done and let me see if I remember the conversation back them when this board was hosted at one bills drive - if we only had a Parcels or Gibbs or Walsh ... song is starting to sound VERY familiar to me. I have no doubts, with a Belichick, Josh would already have bling and most people are seeing that to. Said it before and saying it again - without 17 the Bills are a sub .500 team at best and would be fighting for the basement still.
-
and how many Lombardi's does that equal? Just curious

Rigth on - and there it is. Reid is a QB whisperer, has been since Philly. Ask yourself this, if Allen was in KC, how many rings? Probably the same or more, and Mahomes would be in the same predicament as Allen is right now, chasing the dream. Just like that it 1990 again, if the Bills only had a Parcels or Johnson or Gibbs... Sad. -
I kind of feel he's more like Frank Reich - not a 16 (17 now) game guy but will get you 2 or 3 wins out of 5

Who was your all-time favorite player that was NOT on the Bills?
ren1701 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
in the 70's - Bradshaw 80's - Sweetness / also like watching Fouts as well 90.s - Sanders, could have been the best of all time on a good team 2000s - Brady all the way, love or hate he is the GOAT.. for now (Bills have a future one, if they can figure it all out) -
Welcome to the Bills message board where the fans believe what they are told and the numbers don't matter. Sorry, I don't know what games you were at, but I assure you, "committing to it, in two of the last three years made the Bills almost unbeatable" might not be true, at least in the playoffs: 2020 Lost the Conference Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs (24-38) - BUF Rushing 129 / Passing 234 KC Rushing 114 / Passing / Passing 325 I call this one the no answer game as they had no answer for Hill as he shredded us for 172 yards and Kelce for 118 and every first down, you remember? 3 and 6 lets give them a 12 yard cushion...love da zone LOL 2021 Lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round in overtime (36-42) - BUF Rushing 109 / Passing 313 KC Rushing 182/ Passing 370 This was by far 17's best game as a pro- you could literally watch him carrying the entire team and coaching staff... I'll give you 13 seconds to think about it 2022 Lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round (10-27) - BUF Rushing 64/ Passing 261 CIN Rushing 172/ Passing 240 C'mon - you remember this one - Cover 2 Tampa soft zone can't stop the inside run with a 180 pound DB playing MLB as they spotted them 14 points in the first 12 minutes of the game. I'll give you this one, we did out pass them in this one, too bad we were never in it. Burrow owned that zone as 9 different people caught passes 2023 Lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round (24-27) - BUF Rushing 182/ Passing 186 KC Rushing 146/ Passing 215 The coaching "not to lose" game - and after 5 years, still have no answer for Travis Kelce. A minute and half left to go, 17 flinging it all over the yard, send out the field goal unit... and 17 was responsible for 72 of 182. You keep saying I have an issue w/ the run game, it's literally the defense over and over again. The problem I have with McD is he is the very definition of insanity, do it over and over again and expect a different result. KC had that hole and the went out and got Spagnuolo while we held on to Frasier. I promise you, Reid knows nothing about the defense. Now in Frasier's defense, no one knows how much McD had in calling defenses over the years, but if he was calling the shots, Frasier should have been gone after 13 seconds break down. Now we promote Babich, and as of last Feb24 "Sean McDermott is undecided on Bills' defensive play-caller: 'We'll make that decision when we need to" is all you need to know. I believe McD is a fine head coach - if he would just let the talent around him do their thing. they can build an offense around 17 that can put up 35 a game to make up for defensive philosophy that only works against bad teams. Saying as far as "the leaders on the team getting it" - The only thing they are "getting" is an early tee time every season while getting to watch someone else hoist the Lombardi. Just my take - hopefully, maybe this year it will work ... 5ths times a charm.

Just going back to 2019 and I can go back even farther then that if you like - only one team in the big show had a top 5 run game, THE NUMBER S DON"T LIE - perhaps the talking heads you listen to do? Think about it - how many big contracts are being made for running backs??? None, as they are now throw always that you use up on a rookie deal and trade em. The weakness in Allens game went away because they moved from run run pass punt Dorcey, and be honest, remove Allen and just like Lamar, without these guys, these teams have no run game. Let me say the thing that should be said: Without Josh Allen, the Bills are a sub .500 team that would have got this coaching staff tanked years ago. His natural ability and aptitude for what is happening around him keeps us in games too many times as the Bills are scoring on broken plays or scramble drills. "Only the teams with better than average running games will contend in the AFC this year.... 2019 - #1 - Ravens .. no Lombardi - SB winner Pats, run ranking - 18, passing #9 (4153) 2020 - #1 - Ravens ... no Lombardi - SB winner KC, run ranking - 16, passing #1 (5005) 2021 - #1 - Philly ... no Lombardi - SB winner Bucs, run ranking - 26, passing #1 (5383) 2022 - #1 - Da Bears... no Lombardi - SB winner Rams, run ranking #5, passing #25 (3506) 2023 - #1 - Ravens again... no Lombardi - SB winner KC, run ranking #19. passing #7 (4383) Barring the run by the Rams in 22 - nothing you are saying is supported by numbers but rather an antiquated notion that the NFL is still a run first league. Not even one of those QBS that won it were "system guys" supported by a great running game. It's all about the QB, nothing else matters and here's the real elephant in the room - as long a McD sits in that nickel cover 2 soft Tampa zone nonsense for 80% of the game, you better have a guy that can put up 35 plus points in a game because when they get to the playoffs and play REAL QB's - they eat his lunch... 4 years running now… the very definition of insanity.
-
Foolish? Still stuck in the 80's I see. 3 1/2 yards and cloud of dust, run it again...lol Let me tell you what the "best running game in football" got for it - a good golf game after the first playoff game exit by the 17th best running game that is KC. This is a passing league and has been for the last 30 years, and the offense they push, any ham and egger can run. Allen is not a "game manager" he is elite and even with the actual numbers, some people just can't face the truth. The sad part is, it will waste another 3 years from Allen shelf life before it is admitted. Number's don't lie my friend, and at the end of the day, you don't drive a Lamborghini in the snow... unless you are McD Sorry.
