  1. And then Wednesday and Thursday there is potential for another multi-foot Lake Snow Event. I told people it was going to be a rough week in WNY. How many have you been to in the middle of a 31" snow event with whiteout conditions? I'll tell you how many you or any other NFL fan has been to. Zero.
  2. How many other NFL cities get 31 inches of snow with whiteout conditions and 50 mph winds? Can you name one? In most places that would be an all-time historic storm they would be talking about for the next century and they'd be shut down for at least a week. Here it is just a normal "bad" lake effect event and we just need a day to plow out.
  3. Expected snow totals in Buffalo now up to 31.0" Check NOAA/NWS Buffalo's website. https://www.weather.gov/buf/Winter
  4. Agree, unless the dome is being built over half of WNY it wouldn't matter Lake Effect is a different animal. I call it "Angry Snow" because at times it's snowing so hard the snow falling creates updrafts that cause flakes next to it to "fall" upwards.
  5. Buffalo expected snow totals upped to near 30" now. How would a dome help when this has nothing to do with playing in these conditions? Literally the only thing that would help is if you built a dome over WNY.
  6. It's so funny to see people who probably have never seen something like this in their life commenting on it. They are clueless For 90% of the commenters complaining, this would be the worst winter weather they have ever been a part of. This would have shut down where they are at for a week. It's only keeping us down for a day. Expected snow totals just got updated to near 30" for Buffalo.
  7. At least they won't know who to prepare for tho.
  8. I don't believe Shavers ever got activated off IR and his window closed meaning he is done for the year.
  9. OK bro... Either you don't live in this area or you don't know how snow plows work during these conditions.
  10. 2+ feet is not a few inches. Mix that with alcohol and whiteout conditions and that's a recipe for disaster for both people driving and pedestrians trying to leave the stadium. We get it dude...you are the biggest badass that was out barechested walking around during the blizzard last year the entire time and when they found you buried under the snow you were building igloos and doing snow angels.
  11. Most people are not going to have big trucks and chains just laying around collecting dust to use for these situations. Let's be real
  12. As expected we are edging up in snowfall totals ..Buffalo expected total went from 22.2" to 23.1"
  13. I call it the White Wall...if you are coming into a snow band from outside of it, it looks like a giant white wall and as you drive inside of it all you hear is this crazy "whoosh" sound and see snow falling in literally every direction. It's surreal almost.
  14. The danger is a quick slant, a defender slipping and then a house call
  15. If I gave you a Japanese textbook and told you to read it, would you be able to? Most likely not. Same concept. They can have all the information but without knowing how that effects things on a local and granular level they don't do much good. All they can do is give a general guideline. Read the forecasts on NOAA Buffalo and then these and you'll see how they differ usually quite a bit in these events.
  16. There isn't that much uncertainty. It's going to be 25-30 mph winds with 45 mph gusts, there will have been a foot or more of snow that has already fallen by game time from afternoon Saturday thru early Sunday and it will be snowing heavily for much of the game. Chance of precip is 100 %
  17. I would almost prefer Williams out there at LB in this game. Steelers aren't going to try and trick you, they will just run right at you. Williams is a heat seeking missile in those situations... Bills also re-signed AJ Klein who might be valuable as well since they wouldn't be able to expose him in pass coverage most likely but he is very solid against the run and his run fits
  18. Really? Douglas would be huge in a game where the longest pass attempted by the Steelers might be 10 yards? Especially with Hamlin's terrible angles in run fits.
  19. Because unless they are in this area and have years of experience they don't know their ass from their elbows in these events because they have never actually forecasted these events. The models give guidance but the actual forecasts are based off of a LOT more than this with these events which come from many years of experience and seeing how similar scenarios played out previously. There is far more granularity required than what they are going to have...a slight wind shift can cause the snow to move 10 miles and cause one place to get buried and another to get nothing. There is no way for these big outlets to forecast that properly. They are fine 99% of time, just not when truly localized events like this happen.
  20. Not really. Those games are cancelled due to travel to/from the game and parking lot issues...there is nowhere to park and plow crews aren't worried about trying to plow parking lots out when streets aren't open. Also a political issue where people demand to know why they are wasting resources there when their streets aren't plowed in case of medical emergency
  21. Stop looking at anything that is not NWS Buffalo or Donn Paul. Those forecasts are meaningless. This is a localized event and they don't have the ability to forecast those.
  22. He is talking about the ground crews preparing the stadium for the game
