Spotlight on Roger Saffold---WTF is he doing on the 98 yard TD pass?
Big Turk replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe it because Buffalo is near water, which will usually be warmer than the surrounding land and help keep temps warmer than they otherwise would be. KC is surrounded by land, so they don't have that benefit even though they are further south. When I was in Ohio, some of the coldest temps I have ever been in were in this little town called Mount Gilead which was in the middle of nowhere about 45 minutes north of Columbus and it would regularly be like -5 or -8 there in the mornings when I left for work. Fingers felt like fish sticks they were so cold and my bones hurt. Could not imagine living in places like Minnesota, North Dakota or even places in NYS like Watertown or Lake Placid where it routinely gets in the --20s and -30s without wind chills in the winter---AND they get Buffalo amounts of snow on top of it, unlike most of the other colder places in the upper Midwest. -
Nothing would surprise me...we have the "Will Ferrell of QBs" according to Von...and that would DEFINITELY be something he would tell a guy to do. 😅

They drafted Cody Ford in round 2, it just didn't work. -
Apparently it will only cost the Bills 600K this year and they are not on the hook for anything past that if he gets cut next year
-
He averages 18.0 Yards per catch over his career. That's absurd, I don't care who you are. That's far more than a few plays. Doesn't even count the playoffs where he has made more than a few plays as well.
-
Watching the reverse angle on that play and Allen is pretty close to being sacked for a safety due to Saffold going to double team nobody and leaving a guy in front of him with a clear path to the QB. Now, granted, this could have been how they decide to block it up because Bates has nobody to block(the Steeler player in front of him doesn't rush and kind of just stands there and Morse ends up sort of coming off his block to get a piece of that defender, but it was more like he steered the Pittsburgh defender he was blocking into the way of the other guy and bumped him off course. That defender actually gets a hit on Allen on the play but it doesn't matter because...well Josh Allen is freaking Josh Allen. Just seems really weird to block it up like that when Dawkins had his man stonewalled...I would have to think Saffold was supposed to block the dude that hit Allen on that play?? @HoofHearted any thoughts?

If Allen stays healthy, will Bills win 11 in a row?

I would be shocked if they lose to GB at home after the bye. GB is just so....average at best. -
Yeah, I mean can't trade for an injured player...other than that we could have just traded for Darnold instead 😅 Or maybe both for a 7th round pick in 2030
-
Let's trade for Baker Mayfield...I hear he is pretty pretty good... 🤣 J/K...has a high ankle sprain now and is out for a while...
-
Just being reported Baker Mayfield has a high ankle sprain so it looks like Sam Darnold will be the defacto starter for the new coach moving forward for a while....

Scoring offense. The Bills lead the NFL in yards(which is how the NFL ranks teams) by a large margin over the 2nd place Eagles

LMAO!! The reason why the return guy who fumbled on the first kickoff for the Steelers was in there in the first place? Nantz and Romo said the normal return guy, Sims, had an eye issue in pre-game and wasn't able return kicks(although he did after the other player fumbled the first one), but we had no insight as to what actually happened... Well, coming straight from the horses mouth... "Kenny threw a ball, I was catching the ball, it came straight through my hands and it just decked me dead in the eye, right with the point of the ball,” Sims explained. So a professional WR in the NFL got hurt due to getting hit in the eye from a ball thrown to him that he was supposed to catch...SMFH. Not quite as bad as a QB being out from slipping on a mat after practice, but still... http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/threads/guess-how-sims-got-hurt.29396/

Have there been any recent coaching hires from College that have had success in the NFL? They all seem to be terrible...even the best college coach ever in Nick Saban couldn't hack it.

Dude was a disaster. But at least he gets a big payday with his buyout/whatever is left on his contract. Dude is a joke. Even Shannon Sharpe is incredulous.

If the Bills have Poyer and Edmunds back, I like our chances. Bills 31 Chiefs 27 If they don't, I think the Chiefs may have the edge at home. Chiefs 34 Bills 31 However, I could easily see the score similar to last year as well where the Bills won 38-20...Bills can be that good. I don't see a game where the Chiefs win by more than one score. -

Part of the reason why we haven't is because they have played us. But I know...other teams always have played the top ranked D in the NFL every week, they never play teams with any injuries, and their D has played the top ranked O every week right? The Bills have a 3 year run of greatness that has been on par with some of the greatest team runs in NFL history...all they are missing is a SB now. 3 years long enough for you? -

We are 2nd in the NFL in points scored and 1st in the NFL(tied) for least points allowed. Once again leading the NFL in net points by a large margin, almost double the next closest team. #1 in yards on offense by a large margin, #2 on yards on defense(thanks to soft coverage) Context over the course of the season compared to every other team in the NFL matters too. -
Hot take: Shakir should be the starting slot receiver going forward
Big Turk replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't see this as a hot take...Shakir can be special. -

Agree...at one point they had 12 starters out and had 4 backup OLinemen in, 2 playing out of position, and their 3 WR set featured backup TE Quinton Morris, FB Reggie Gilliam and rookie RB James Cook. And Allen was STILL moving the ball at will. They outgained the Dolphins by almost 300 yards. How is that laying an egg? -

They also played their other games relatively close. Not this game. They got stomped into submission. -
Yes, that is a part of it as well...they also might be the best in terms of choosing guys that maybe aren't the best "player" per say but the best scheme fit for what they need a player to do.
-
I think both of them are equally hot, so I don't really care which one is on.

It was a good throw, but I don't think it was his best. The two that come to mind for me in terms of best throws are the one against the Pats in 2020 in NE(38-9 beatdown) where he runs right then doubles back left, is being chased by a Pats DLineman, stops, flips his hips and then throws a missile while of his back foot to Diggs who makes a diving catch in the EZ for a TD. Put it in a perfect place where only Diggs could catch it with a defender in tight coverage. A throw only maybe one or two other QB's would even consider throwing. The other was the back foot laser to Diggs against the Cards that gave them the lead late in the game in 2020 where Diggs smoked Peterson, Allen didn't even step into the throw and threw a freaking 25 yard laser to Diggs for a perfect throw to the front pylon for a TD. But I mean honestly there are a plethora of other throws you could choose from...it's like every game 3 or 4 throws that just make you shake your head in terms of how could that throw be possible.
