If someone took a loaded gun and randomly fired it into an area where people walked regularly without looking, would we say the person deserved a second chance because he just made a mistake and never meant to kill anyone? They make a conscious decision they know could result in someone else's death because they don't want to be inconvenienced or embarrassed. It's a selfish act without a care in the world for anyone else.

The problem is many don't ever learn from their mistakes and repeat them over and over again and often times it isn't until the 3rd or 4th time they have been caught doing the same thing that they end up injuring/killing someone.

Those are no joke...I had some due to hip surgery and they found 3 PE's that traveled to my lungs. Quite the shock when doctors came in and told me I should be dead. When I have a bad day or things aren't going the way I want them to, I think back to that day and things seem a whole lot better pretty quickly.

And don't let it stop you from convicting people in the court of public opinion. The law is innocent until proven guilty. And it's like that precisely because when it's guilty until proven innocent people get railroaded by default most times like in so many other countries with their kangaroo courts.

So it's OK to put away innocent people because it all evens out? Bet you'd think differently if you were the innocent person being locked up.
