That will be gone in the new stadium since it will have two tunnel entrances. Current stadium is unique in that a single tunnel entrance causes crazy wind patterns and it's the only stadium in the NFL with that.

Week 15: Dolphins at Bills on Saturday Night Football

Yeah Meteorology isn't exactly a career you are going to get rich in. This might be the craziest thing I have read on this board in a long time. My God man...get down from the ledge. It usually takes about a year from the time they start playing again for players to feel/look back to normal...if we are having this discussion next year at this time then it's something to potentially wonder about. As of right now this is a non issue. -

Watertown averages slightly less than Buffalo in terms of snow but places like Booneville and Highmarket get crushed with like 200+ inches -

Usually Lake Erie freezes by early January which is why Rochester typically ends up catching up and passing us in snowfall by the end of the season(except last year) since Lake Ontario rarely freezes...and also why the Tug Hill Plateau area gets buried all winter... Must suck to live there and deal with not only a metric crap ton of snow but also temps that fairly often get to -20 to -30+ below zero without the wind chill... -
Cannot believe there is a person on Twitter who is claiming the Lake Snow Warning for Southern Erie County, which says directly in it "including the cities of Orchard Park", isn't for the Bills game and people who claim OP is included in that "can't live in the area" since it's not in Southern Erie County. I think there needs to be a certain IQ threshold required to be able to post there... That was the 1990 Divisional Playoff game which preceded the Raiders 51-3 ass kicking.

It didn't just happen randomly, it happened in large part because the Lake Temps were extremely warm for that time of year, which we can expect to see more and more of...which means this likely will become a semi-regular occurrence instead of a once in a 1000 year occurrence. -

That was directly from the forecaster's discussion from NWS Buffalo at the time I posted...take it up with them if you have issues with it. I just paraphrased what they said in it. To be fair, they stated in there quite emphatically that this was just what the early models showed, that it was still too early to predict with high levels of certainty where the heaviest snow would fall and that subtle wind shifts can result in massive differences. -
Friday would likely be the better day, although Saturday seems OK prior to mid-afternoon. However, we all know what it is "expected" to do and what it actually does in terms of where the bands sit are two different things many times. Initially, the Buffalo Metro area was expected to get the snow that OP/Hamburg got a few weeks ago and Hamburg/OP was supposed to only get 2-3 feet. One thing not being talked about is with them wearing All White, they may be difficult to see and may blend in...I expect with the wind, visibility might not be more than 10-15 yards for much of the game and those white uniforms will blend in. If they were smart, their defenders should wear white head coverings and white sleeves to try and blend in more and the offense should wear orange sleeves/head coverings to try and stand out more.

The Fin players will likely be shellchocked by this mentally. It's one thing to talk about it and "practice" in the cold, but it's another thing to play in it. Very few people will ever, in their entire lifetime, see conditions like this.
-
15-22 inches expected for OP and the game will be played literally in the middle of it...good luck to the Fins...going to be a hell of a broadcast tho for the National TV audience to see.

The snow is supposed to be focused more on the Buffalo Metro area during the day and then slowly drift south into the Southtowns during the late afternoon/evening hours...you will be right on the edge of that being an issue but as always with these things there is no set way to know before Saturday gets here and we see what happens with the wind directions. -

It's not fun. I've lived here most of my life and had to drive in many a snowstorm...it's never fun and it's never as "cool" as people think it is. Mainly you are white knuckling it the entire time trying to stay out of the ditch, on your side of the road and ensuring you are able to stop in time when you see taillights in front of you and praying you never see the dreaded "headlights" coming at you. -

15-22 inches in Southern Erie including OP He just looks so awkward when he runs...has no wiggle or shiftiness like Mahomes and Allen have. -

Bills are #1 in the NFL in "stuff percentage" on running plays. 27% of run plays against the Bills are stopped for no gain or a loss of yards. -

How many of them are misses where he shoots the gap in the backfield and misses the tackle due to a sudden move by the RB who is then swarmed under by other Bills that get there due to Milano disrupting the play initially? I feel like this is what I have seen a lot of in terms of missed tackles from Milano which are really inconsequential mostly. -

IMHO, the Bills can play their C game and beat Miami in these conditions. -
Matt Bowen for one.

There are a lot of former NFL players and analysts who disagree with this. I think I'd trust their opinion over yours.

Inaccurate forecast that does not factor in the LES snow at all. No totals yet as it is a little early for that, but I can pretty much assure you it will be more than 1-3 inches. NWS Buffalo is the gold standard for any type of forecast dealing with LES. Typically when it says the "snow could be heavy at times" it means 2+" per hour. Saturday Night Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 100%. -
Too early yet to really get solid amounts as there are a lot of moving parts with this one that weren't really in play in the other one where it was pretty much "you are going to get an ungodly amount of snow and nothing can save you" from the get go. This one has a bunch of things that could disrupt, shift, lessen/increase intensity, etc that won't be better known until probably late Friday night. The heaviest snows are expected in the Southtowns and ski country from what I am seeing and it likely will be around 2 feet as of right now, but it appears that amount may begin to increase as the conditions for a longer duration event into Monday and even Tuesday of next week now looks much more favorable than earlier. All this to say the 9 inches is probably the bare minimum for an area.
