    Yeah it would. What's the point of winning games with a backup QB if there is no shot at doing anything once we get in the playoffs or even if we get to the playoffs. Having an unnaturally high pick due to QB injury is why Cincy was able to get Chase.

    Does it matter? If Allen goes down we are f**ked. Would almost be better to have no backup QB to get a high draft pick and get Allen back the next year.

    Means he knows he will play 4-5 games a year since Tua gets hurt every year and will continue to do so since he is fragile.

    Heard he wanted $25 million and $17 guaranteed but when the team sat him down to talk with him, he just tucked his head in his arm and wouldn't look at them...too shy for his own good

    No, they are what happens when you know you are leaving after having discussions with the Bills already that they are not signing him. Pretty much what we have already figured out, but this just confirms it.

    Beane gets a great deal with Martin...signed for less and he had a much better year than Pinion did.

    They've been doing it for years with Shanahan, not just one season. It allows them to spend heavily on other areas and not pay the price other teams would. It's a massive advantage, not sure why more teams don't try to copy it.

    They won't need to...49ers get more value out of the QB position than any team in the NFL. They can literally take a street FA and because of Shanahan's system make him a viable QB for them.
