Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Big Turk replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
1000 yard seasons were the measuring stick when they played 14 games...then it went to 16 and it stayed the same, now 17 where it's almost meaningless. -
How long before a defense coordinator is signed?
Big Turk replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
You have no idea that's true. It's all speculation. This doesn't mean we are moving backwards, we could very well be better than last year in the playoffs, the only place it matters anymore. -
I don't even understand why this is a thing anymore. There is no reason to hand out comp picks for losing FAs. It would be one thing if it were like MLB with the haves and have nots due to no salary cap, but the NFL basically covers all player salaries with TV contract money so it's up to the individual teams to decide whether they want to keep a player or not. Choosing not to keep a player shouldn't have anything to do with trying to get a comp pick. Since all teams are on more or less equal footing(minus signing bonus money), it would all balance out eventually. It's outlived whatever purpose it served at one point.

How did the Patriots maintain a top team for 17 years?
Big Turk replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
It also helped the 3 teams in their division over that time frame were mostly inept with no QBs -

Was Larry Bird the best 3 point shooter ever?

Steph and Reggie Miller for me...and of course "Big Shot Bob" Horry in the playoffs who was unconsciously clutch with big threes late in games. -

Their QB took way less money than he could have gotten allowing them to keep other pieces. Belichick was a master at letting guys go a year too early rather than a year too late. Aging vets got replaced right around the time they fell off a cliff most times. Tom Brady covered up for a ton of missteps in the draft. -
Damn what a steal...one year $1.7 million. Beane is a wizard.

Maybe the Bills should have since he put up 3 100 yard games against them in the 4 times he played and scored 5 YDs
-
4 games played against the Bills...3 games over 100 yards and 5 TDs. That's pretty good. Averages 6.4 YPC against us.
-
Nice! He always seemed to play well against us...
-
Good riddance

Players have no say whether their contract gets restructured or not most times. Teams include clauses when they sign that allow them to do it at the teams discretion. There is only a win for them when a players contract gets restructured, they get more money up front.

I remember watching the games last year and wondering who he was cause he kept making plays against us.
-
He obviously wasn't released or the Bills would have announced it.

Depends on the structure. If it's a fully guaranteed $30 million signing bonus it would be a $10 million cap hit to cut him in year 3. UPDATE: Just updated the terms that I found...it's actually $50 million fully guaranteed and $30 million signing bonus with $60 million in total guarantees($10 million injury only likely). I doubt he will get cut at all, wouldn't make any sense
