Yes that's true. To put it in perspective in 2014, we had 7 feet of snow and the airport had barely a foot. That's how sharp the cutoff is at times. It's a classic lake snow setup as well that has happened repeatedly in the 15+ years I've lived there. I'm about 8 minutes from the airport.

Nope...the Eastern suburbs Depew/Lancaster east of the airport get hit harder than the airport. They are in a snow belt where the winds will take the bands over Lackawanna, miss downtown and the airport, be a bullseye for Depew/Lancaster and head out to Batavia. Whatever the total at the airport is for a given season, you can tack on about 20-30" usually. When we had 7 feet here in 2014, airport had barely a foot. West Seneca has it worse usually than us tho.

As terrible as that is, not really a fair comparison. It is the height of unfairness for people to be blaming fire/police for not being able to rescue people in conditions that could only be described as impossible. The fact they risked their own lives many times to try should be commended in and of itself.

This needs its own thread as it's a monumental achievement as records go back to 1878 here. With the 6.2" recorded today at the airport thru 10am, Buffalo has set the all-time record for most snowfall in a season thru December with 98.9", breaking the 95.9" previous record set in 2000. Almost a foregone conclusion this will be the first time ever Buffalo records 100+" of snow by the end of December(a given based on the previous record being 95.9"). Still lightly snowing and expecting 3-5" more tonight and 1-3" tomorrow. It's been a hell of a winter already...now Buffalo sets it's eyes on becoming the first city with 100K+ population to ever get 200" in a season in the US. Buffalo also hols that record of 199.2" in the infamous 1976-77 season(blizzard of 77). As a sidenote, 2000 saw the 2nd highest seasonal snowfall ever of 158.7".

And Buffalo has done it!! An additional 6.2" at the airport thru 10am puts us at 49.7" for the storm total and 98.9" for the season, breaking the all time record of 95.9" in 2000 for most snowfall thru December in a season.

We were in the midst of one of the worst storms ever in WNY and it was only fitting to give us some joy during an otherwise bleak holiday season.

Sadly if he could have just been as productive on offense as he was here with EJ Manuel, Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel leading the way, the Broncos would be challenging the Chiefs for the division. Their D has been that good most games this year...until they basically just quit yesterday. He averaged 21.2 points per game in 2013 that year...Denver would have a LOT of wins with that kind of basic production this year.

Broncos fans rejoice! Long overdue...they gave him more than enough rope and all he did with it was hang himself worse and worse at every turn. Guess he gets a nice buyout. Never sniffs an NFL head coaching job again tho

Their starting RT, La'el Collins is done for the year with a torn ACL and MCL...could cause issues for them...their OLine was not a strength to begin with.

KC took a 27-0 lead a few weeks ago and then Mahomes threw 3 INTs and Denver got to within 1 score with KC holding on for dear life at the end to win 34-28. Divisional games are different.

If anyone ever asks what is so special about WNY, just have them read this story. Pretty much perfectly sums up this area and this is the type of stuff that is almost expected to happen during these type of situations. Simply put this, this is WNY in a nutshell.

McSorely shouldn't be on a roster let alone starting a game...he is awful. I don't understand how these QBs get in games, suck beyond belief but yet still maintain backup roles for years and years No Brady has just been bad more often than not and the OLine isn't the reason. Flores finished hot until the game mattered...like their last game of the season when Allen only played a half and we still crushed them 56-26 with a win and in scenario for the Fins and us having nothing to really play for.
