NFL Week 10 - Vikings at Bills post game thread
Big Turk replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah...I mean theoretically they may have been afraid of a holding penalty in the end zone which would have led to a safety -
They absolutely could make a run with who is on the field now. The offense simply needs to stop turning the ball over in the RZ. That's it. It's not that hard. Wasn't too long ago Allen set an NFL record for most RZ snaps to start a career without an INT. He needs to go back to that mindset. They are facing some adversity. They need to overcome it.

All he has to do is bat the ball away and the game is over. -

Basically of the Bills can limit themselves to one TO a game they will pretty much be unbeatable. -
I'm not sure I just don't go for it on 4th down and leave the Chargers at the 1 yard line with no timeouts versus having to kick off to them now still losing on a TD.
-
They still have a 91% chance to make the playoffs. Let's not be ridiculous. The Bills are not going to beat themselves too many more times.
-
They had 3 downs to make sure we get out of the endzone to be able to run the clock out. The sneak was dumb because everyone knew it was coming. Allen running from the shotgun to the outside would have likely sealed the game.

We’ve lost to teams that are 23-7 on the year

Basically the question is...will the Bills stop beating themselves? Because I don't think another team can beat them otherwise. It's taken a myriad of mind numbing mistakes by the Bills and everything the other teams have got to beat the Bills by a combined 8 points on the last possessions of the game. -

They are. I mean how many teams are going to have 4 turnovers and lose in OT...to a 7-1 team? Most teams with 4 turnovers get blown out. The bottom line is, the Bills beat themselves to a much larger degree than the other team actually beats them. -

Literally all the Bills needed to do in all 3 losses was to execute properly in the RZ when they had their chances. That's it. Stop turning the f**king ball over. Stop treating taking care of the football as some secondary thing to taking chances and making plays. Look, I'm not saying they are going to go into a tailspin and end up 9-8. It literally took everything the other teams had and the Bills to blow leads(2 of them big leads) and make mind numbing mistakes to lose, on the last possession of the game by 3 points or less. That isn't going to keep happening and the Bills can probably still win a lot of those games even if they did. They are simply too talented to do that. They still have a 91% chance of making the playoffs but interestingly only a 48% chance of winning the division now(still highest of any of the teams...Miami is 35%, Jets 10%). But stop making idiotic plays in the RZ and take the easy plays. Where are the designed runs for Allen like Daboll had down there? The team is too good for this to keep happening. They need to figure it out. -
Teams need spectacular plays to beat us by 3
Big Turk replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
They've lost to teams with a combined 23-7 record and it took a bunch of craziness for those teams to beat us and in reality we beat ourselves. Bills simply have to stop beating themselves and they will not lose. All Lewis had to do was knock the ball down instead of going for the INT. He was in position to make the play, he simply didn't. Yeah...multiple chances to make an easy play to win the game. It's frustrating. They are so good it's frustrating to see them do stupid things at the wrong times. -

I am assuming Allen would have found a way to pick up a few yards on one of them to be able to simply kneel and end the game -
Herbert should be the one getting penalized if anything...the defender is just standing there and Herbert launches at him when he is hit from behind. That is ridiculous!!! He is getting kicked out?? WTF!!
-
He was at the 20.
-
No. He is practicing in full with no red jersey. There is no injury issue. The Bills must not be happy with where he is from a football readiness standpoint. What answers do you think he comes up with when your entire starting secondary is out?
-
He literally could have been the hero by running the ball for a TD on that play if he made it...probably wouldn't have scored but he would have gotten inside the 10 and moved the sticks. I mean he just got us into that position with 2 long runs on the first 2 plays of the drive.
-
How about take the easy throws or the 10+ yard run with only a LB preventing a TD staring him in the face? Singletary picks up 7 or 8 minimum if not a first down, Allen runs for 10+ and a first down if not a TD. This is simply decision making. Something he once excelled at in the RZ which he is really struggling with lately. I mean this is the guy who set an NFL record for most snaps in the red zone to start a career without an INT.

I'm not sure that wasn't on Morse with the snap...it seemed like he short armed it because he was worried about trying to prevent the DLineman from stuffing Allen for a safety. It's like he tried to go from snap to block too quickly and didn't ensure the ball got to Allen. -
I simply don't understand how a team that practices as much situationally as the Bills do under McD are so bad in those situations when they actually happen.

They should have simply shotgun snapped it and let Allen run out wide and throw it away if nothing was available. On 3 plays, Allen would have found the 2 or 3 yards they needed to be able to kneel down and end the game. -

Bills hadn't lost since 1968 when they had a 14+ point lead after the half and were 52-0 during that time. Cowboys had never lost a game in which they had a 14+ point lead in the history of their franchise and were 195-0 in those games. Both teams lost in OT on the same day. Surreal. -
