I mean he had 3 "layups" on the final play. THREE! most teams scheme their asses off to get ONE on any given play! Checkdown to Motor for an easy 6 or 7 at least if not a FD Allen running for an easy FD if not a TD with only one player who was offset to his right and wide open green in front of him. Morris crossing wide open over the middle around the 10 yard line for a FD. Why he forced a throw when he had those options available is the question. Why is he constantly trying to score on every play? Much better mindset than taking checkdowns every play like Captain Checkdown Edwards, but it has to be done smartly like in the Ram and Titan games. Allen seemingly wants it to be the Steelers game every game now and go bombs away.

A Few Thoughts about the Vikings game, in no particular order
Big Turk replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
How can the playcall be worse when he has 3 viable options for successful plays? There are a lot of teams that are happy when they have ONE gimme on a play...Allen had THREE!! They were not close enough to the endzone for a QB Power to be effective. Those are most effective inside the 10. -

Why is Peterson always involved in crazy regular season losses under McD and Allen? He was in Arizona for the Hail Murray and was responsible for giving up a TD to Diggs that should have won the game. This was his revenge I guess. -

I think Allen believed Davis was going to cross the face of the defender, but instead he tried to go deeper, meaning Peterson was the only player there when Allen threw it. Looking below, Allen had 3!! other very good options on the play: 1) Checkdown to Motor for an easy 6 or 7 if not a first down. 2) Take off running to the wide open space up the middle and to the left. Easy first down and possible TD. 3) Throw it to a wide open Quentin Morris coming across the middle around the 10 yard line. First down. Instead he makes the one throws you CANNOT make in that situation. -
They will not. This is the type of team they run off the field.

No. He had 3 straight 7-9 seasons with Brees as his QB too. The overreactions on this board are comical.

We have the head to head against everyone. We just need to focus on the division first tho. The Bills control their own destiny. Everything they want to accomplish is there for the taking. They just need to do a better job at seizing the moment. -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills

Ehh...people tend to blow things out of proportion from exceedingly small glimpses through crud covered windows. Kinda like the guy who "saw" them boys coming out of the Sack of Suds in My Cousin Vinnie. The Bickering Bills were a thing too back in the day and to a man the players said they laughed about it in the locker room while playing it up to the media. -

Nothing is ever out of reach in the NFL with how it's a week to week league and key injuries occur every week. There is no reason the Bills couldn't run the table. The toughest part of their schedule is done. Their goal next week should be zero turnovers. -
But that is the whole point. You are putting a LOT of pressure on the center and QB to ensure they don't get stuffed for a safety when everyone and their Mom knew that play was coming and they sold out to stop it. Morse and Allen knew that and hence they tried to ensure they didn't get stuffed prior to completing a clean exchange. There was no reason to put them in that situation to begin with.

It wasn't victory formation. They would kneeled into their endzone.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Big Turk replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's likely much ado about nothing. Every team has internal strife to some degree. It's incredibly naive to think that many people are all going to like each other and be best friends. This team is extremely close and will figure it out. -
Maybe, but it points to a concerted effort by everyone and especially the QB NOT to make careless plays.
-
Except it's not. You saw what happened...in an attempt to not get a safety the center and QB exchange was not clean due to both players trying to make sure they got a little extra jump. It appeared Morse tried to go from snap to block too quickly. Allen in the gun rolling out and throwing it away if he wasn't able to run for a few yards was the easy call there. It was first down, they had multiple shots to get a few yards, something he was doing well all game. Or even a fake QB Sneak and then pitch out to Cook or Hines to the outside would have likely done the trick...you know...the old Mike Mulaekey special.

No. Stop looking for silly angles

Seething. The Bills have to stop turning the ball over at a near worst in the NFL clip. It's inexcusable to be this cavalier with the football. They are tied with the Colts for 2nd most turnovers in the NFL with 18. Only New Orleans has more with 19. Both of those teams have played 10 games, so technically the Bills lead the NFL in turnovers per game. Compare them to the Eagles with only 3 all season. Bills have multiple games with more turnovers than the Eagles do for the entire year.
-
Bills are also tied for second in the NFL in most turnovers with 18 with the Colts. Only New Orleans with 19 has more. Too careless with the ball. Philadelphia only has 3 all season. The Bills have multiple games with more turnovers than the Eagles do all year.

Two questions for those who watched the game (Minnesota at Buffalo)
Big Turk replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
#1 I'm not sure...didn't see that on TV. #2 I think it was Cam Lewis he grabbed and that was an INT all the way...unfortunately Lewis tried to make up for his missed INT on the 4th and 18 play to Jefferson instead of knocking the ball down. -

It was the 4th quarter with about 10.5 minutes left. Bills led 27-17 at the time. It was 4th and 2 from the Min 8. I guess Peterson got revenge for being smoked by Diggs for the game winning TD against the Cards before the Hail Murray game. Come to think of it. How about we just not play against Patrick Peterson anymore. Two crazy losses against his teams. -

Yeah...I mean theoretically they may have been afraid of a holding penalty in the end zone which would have led to a safety -
They absolutely could make a run with who is on the field now. The offense simply needs to stop turning the ball over in the RZ. That's it. It's not that hard. Wasn't too long ago Allen set an NFL record for most RZ snaps to start a career without an INT. He needs to go back to that mindset. They are facing some adversity. They need to overcome it.
