  1. Because they blitzed more than anyone else sending everyone.
  2. Wrong. QB is outside the pocket. There is no illegal contact. Actually the smart play would have been to push him OOB so he ineligible to catch the ball unless a defender touches it first. Of course I was at the one loss they had... Also was at a few of the wins too tho.
  3. At the very least should be able to confuse their blocking assignments and get some free runners with the crowd noise and lack of continuity on the line. A lot of issues caused by backups linemen isn't from getting beat by their man(which does happen a lot tho), it comes from not being on the same page with the guy next to you in terms of protection calls, changes in protection and blocking the right guy, etc... Made much worse when you are on a silent snap count and cannot communicate with the guy next to you.
  4. No, they have it...I've seen it a few times this year, not sure if it was the Bills or not.
  5. IMO offense requires a lot more thinking that can give players who use better technique and their savvy an advantage over simply athletic freaks, but on D, it's a lot more about athleticism and speed. Just my take. You can make up for being in the wrong spot with athleticism and speed on defense much better than you can on offense.
  6. Yup...and the one that didn't count to Diggs from the first Pats game(holding penalty on Brown) comes to mind...along with the one to Diggs against Ramsey from the first game of the year versus the Rams.
  7. That might kill you against Allen who is an escape artist even against teams that are good at getting sacks most games. Especially if you allow him to escape to his right and extend the play... What typically happens is a guy just breaks off his route and goes deep and then the DB kinda slows up and watches Allen because he thinks "there is no way he can be running and still throw the ball over my head from that far" and that if he throws it he can get the INT on a ball that comes up short. But as we have seen many many times...oh yes...yes he can throw it over your head that far. He has unlimited range throwing the ball downfield. If a guy gets behind the defender, he can throw it to him from anywhere on the field. Then if you defend deep, he takes off and outruns your LB's and stiffarms/trucks your DBs. Or in some cases just leaps over them. The best bet is to try and contain him in the pocket and force him to make "regular" plays rather than off-schedule ones because that is where he can hurt you the most.
  8. Maybe @UKBillFan can get us the opinion of the ESPN Africa reporters?? 😂😂😂
  9. That Zimbabwean reporter coming up with the inside scoop I see! Must be friends with Odafe Oweh...
  10. When you have that many attempts there are going to be times when he has all day to throw. He was also running for his life quite a bit too.
  11. There is a separate weather thread on the forum somewhere, but here is the latest from NOAA/NWS for OP Sunday A chance of snow showers before 1pm, then rain and snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  12. Man, I injured my patellar tendon from squatting when my knee buckled and I probably should have had surgery and didn't. I can tell you it still bothers me to this day with only the slightest aggravation to it. This dude is going to be in a world of hurt at some point and it isn't going to take much for it to happen.
  13. Wow...that's funny. We have a Bengals fan who watches every game saying they HAVEN'T played well in a month. But I guess you know more even tho you never have watched any of their games most likely? You and AirTroll should hang out at the Bills game and talk about how bad the Bills are and how they are going to lose every game. Think he was talking about the Bengals.
  14. As the game headed into the 4th quarter it was only 2.6 Yards per Play. Miami's lone long drive of the day was the 4th quarter TD drive to bring it within 34-31 and it helped their average quite a bit.
  15. LMAO...maybe it was a mole planted by the Bengals as it was former Bengal Gio Bernard that screwed it up.
  16. Thompson has some mobility...he made some nice plays to move around and get out of pressure...a lot of times it led to off target throws, but it could have been a lot worse if he stayed in the pocket. The Bills are probably the best team in the NFL at getting "almost sacks" but allowing the QB to make a play still. Like, they are all around the QB, getting hands on them, diving and missing, getting shrugged off while trying to make the tackle, etc and then the QB either gets out of the pocket and runs or makes a play throwing the ball...goes back years now. I've never seen anything quite like it and watching other games pretty frequently, it seems to be a problem that happens far more often to the Bills than other teams. I don't know why it happens so much, but it does. You'll be watching the play and be like "how did the QB escape from that"?? Bills turn more sure fire sacks into positive plays for the opposition than I've ever seen.
  17. To me, I think it's going to be a close game that will end up coming down to one or two big plays be either team to win the game. Like a RZ turnover or a ST blunder, etc... One other thing I am curious is the large split on defensive DVOA for the Bengals in home vs road games. They are 2nd at home and 27th on the road. Is this something noticeable? Like does the eye test bear out they play better at home than on the road on D? Just curious as to what you think might be behind the difference...could it simply be they played better teams on the road than at home this year, or is there something more to it?
  18. You definitely should! Granted, this take is coming from like 25 years ago, so a lot could have changed by now, hahaha
  19. The Bills may fall on the other side of the coin...they may play too aggressive with leads and allow teams to come back too often. Like against GB and Minnesota. It's kinda like with the Bills now it seems no lead is safe. I mean we are up 17-0 on the Fins last week with a 3rd string rookie QB and all we had to do from that point is not turn it over and we likely cruise to a victory and yet there we are chucking the ball up 60 yards downfield like we are trying to beat them 55-0. Almost came back to bite us in the ass. Or missed an XP.
  20. That brings up an interesting offshoot...does SF with Shanahan have the biggest advantage in the entire NFL? It appears they will be able to keep winning games and being really good without having to pay a QB franchise type money. It is the easiest system in the NFL for a QB to play in and look good in...they can seemingly keep plugging in mid-tier guys and get great success which will leave them with far more cap space for other pieces around the QB than other teams that have franchise guys that are not on rookie deals.
  21. I would like to talk ball... My question watching the Bengals fairly regularly is why do they seem to disappear on offense in one half most games? It's like they go from looking unstoppable to doing nothing or go from doing nothing to looking unstoppable. Like in the Pats game...they led 22-0 and then had to hold on and get a what some would say questionable assist on the Stevenson fumble inside their own 10 yard line when it appeared forward progress was stopped...otherwise they were in danger of losing that game. Same last week after they scored to make it 17-10... With the weapons they have on offense which might be the best in the NFL, it seems a little odd for that to happen so often. It's like for what they have offensively, you would think they would be better than they are. Not that they aren't really good, but for instance you would think they should be Chiefs level good.
