Daboll/Hodgins - Does their success bother you?
Big Turk replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes...simply in a place where they had no WRs so he got playing time and balls thrown to him by default What's next, arguing Robert Foster should be back on the Bills? Hodgins didn't even come close to having the season Foster had with the Bills. -

Well, whatever you want to say but Pittsburgh has a very long track record of drafting productive WR's in the NFL...literally almost everyone they draft at WR turns out to be a good player... As a Bills fan I would probably not be throwing stones at their WR drafting skills.

But I mean he wasn't even doing much of that outside the 2 Vikings games...his high for other games was 4 for 42...hardly a huge loss. -

Did you see games that didn't include Minnesota? His high point was 4 catches for 42 yards outside of the 2 Minnesota games. So no, not that upset. He is a JAG with lots of opportunities there because they have no good WRs. I am not sure he was even as good as Robert Foster was here.- 127 replies

Khalil Shakir / answer for WR 2 / Makes Sports Illustrated
Big Turk replied to Figster's topic in The Stadium Wall
He may have some limitations and I agree with some of it, but he also put up 832 yards and 8 TDs. There were a lot of 2nd WRs with less than that...I am not saying we perhaps will be able to do better, but let's not pretend this dude is some scrub off the practice squad either. -

Any of JSN, Josh Downs or Zay Flowers and I am happy. Gabe Davis had 599 yards as a rookie and I believe led the team in receiving TDs...forgot or did you conveniently leave that out? -
Apparently Vegas doesn't agree the Bills are done...

Wasn't too long ago Howie Roseman was being lambasted in Philly and they were trying to run him out of town for the same reason...Brandon Graham was coming off Achilles surgery and was a bust up to that point, Jalen Hurts was meh, his drafts hadn't been very good, blah blah blah...it can all change very quickly. -

How did the Patriots maintain a top team for 17 years?
Big Turk replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
As we have seen without a QB that doesn't amount to a lot. -

75% of it was Tom Brady covering up for all the deficiencies on the roster. Don't get me wrong, they had good players and good teams, but it wasn't often you looked at their roster and thought "Damn, this is the most talented roster in the NFL!" -
Wow...that's a tough one...the WR room loved him.
-
Not if he can't get injuries under control. Seems suspicious his teams are always among the ones with key players missing the most number of games year in and year out. That's not by chance when it happens every year. There is a portion of that out of your control but as we have seen there is a large part within your control too. The part within his control is completely lacking there from him. Possibly worst in the NFL from that perspective. The fact he has to keep doing this with tons of injuries is largely on him and the way he operates. He should not be rewarded for that.

Well deserved for Dabs. Kind of shocking how McD hasn't won one yet with as much as he has turned this team around.

Garrett Wilson agrees with you...he even said it in interviews before and again when asked he said "He stands on that" and said they called him "The Natural".

Almost all contracts have the contract the agents can show off to prospective clients, and then the "actual contract" which is likely to be earned by the player in this deal.
-
The devil is all in the details. Contract can be whatever amount they want, but all that matters is how the contract is structured, the amount guaranteed and how easily the team can get out of the contract before the big money hits, or how easily they could restructure it. The total dollar amounts are for the agents to show off to clients, but usually there is the "real contract" within the actual contract.

This game was crazy...Bills had 2 long plays early on. Fred Jackson scored on an 80 yard run before this play...close game, Fitz sealed the L with a 4th quarter INT with 4.5 minutes left in the 4th with the Bills in easy FG range(under 40 yards) and the Giants went down to kick a FG to win the game...as always, Fitz in the 2 minute drill late in the game, Bills went nowhere gaining 5 yards and 4th down pass was batted down...but at least it wasn't the normal Fitz 2 minute special of throwing an INT on the first play to seal the L.

Are you insane? You don't pay RBs 14.1 million in the NFL anymore.
-
Starting to come around to this idea more and more if it's at 27 and they don't move up. I mean the comparison for him is Saquon Barkley...he would help the run game as much as OLinemen would. We talk about the need to draft elite players? Well, this would be an elite player and probably far better than anyone else available at our pick. I doubt he is there tho. Always some team that will value him highly as the best RB in the class.

AV is a sum of their career total, I think you are simply not understanding it. Watkins has a 51 AV and 9 seasons, meaning he averages 5.7 AV per year. Jefferson has a 41 AV and 3 seasons meaning he has an average of 13.7. If Jefferson simply puts up similar numbers, he would have almost 123 AV in the same time period as Watkins. Trying to use Career AV doesn't work unless you are comparing the same number of years. You would need to take AV/year if you are trying to use it compare players in the way you are trying to use it for, otherwise it makes no sense.

Pretty scathing story on Wilson and one that raises a lot of questions of legal improprieties and potentially illegal payment for people working there to do work for the Wilson's Family Office instead. Spend 600K in charitable contributions in 2020-2021 but 1.1 million on salaries to run their Non-Profit, which were far higher than other non-profit salaries in the area. Wilson could be in real trouble if the IRS, Department of Labor or other investigative body decides to take a closer look at this... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/russell-wilsons-why-not-foundation-174735657.html

It really is amazing how people think every other team drafts superstar players in the first round every year.
