Sounds similar to people trying to run Rosen out of Philly in 2020...all his picks sucked, he had no idea what he was doing, etc etc etc...pretty much the same nonsense we hear about Beane now. A year and a half can change a lot. Do they? Mahomes and Burrow had 2 less than Allen who was "terrible". Sounds like a made up narrative by people who don't watch many of their games.

Did not realize KC was second in the NFL in sacks.
-
It's not some major gap between him and the other QBs as some would want us to believe...did you watch Mahomes in the first Denver game? He singlehandedly let them back into the game down 27-0 with 3 terrible INTs. Mahomes has led the NFL in dropped interceptions over the past 3 years as well. Burrow against the Steelers with 4 INTs? Let's stop pretending these other QBs play mistake free football.
-
Let's stop playing hypothetical "what if" football. You can't make assumptions on what "would have happened" from that point since the entire game would have been played differently. Those type of plays don't exist in some vacuum, they exist in the totality of the game.

Their defense didn't force that, Hurts simply dropped the ball untouched. Let's not pretend they did something other than being in the right position to pick up an easy fumble with nobody but 3 Chief players around it. Funnily enough Mahomes had a very similar play against the Bengals.

As we have seen time and again, defense doesn't really matter in the playoffs against elite teams. They are gonna score their points. Bills had the #6, #1, and #2 defenses in the NFL and got smoked all three times in the playoffs against elite offenses. Eagles had the 3rd most sacks in NFL history next to 84 and 85 Bears and got 0 last night. 2nd best D in the NFL, allowed 38 points(31 if you don't count the Defensive TD by KC). KC moved the ball and scored at will on every possession in the 2nd half. Defense only has to be around league average to be good enough. Bills need to allocate 90% of resources to offensive line and offensive weapons. The rules are simply tilted too far in the offenses favor for it to matter with defense, unless your DLine can maul the other team's OLine and usually that isn't going to happen unless multiple starters are out.

Apparently Vegas doesn't agree the Bills are done...

Funny Bills are 2nd in Super Bowl odds in 2024 to KC. If you listened to people here they would be like 25th. -
Perhaps, but in this era where the defense is at an immediate disadvantage before the ball is even snapped, I don't think forcing players to do like 10 checks at the LOS is smart.
-
Why do you assume a first year OC will not improve at all? The same way a rookie QB takes a huge leap between year one and two, I would expect him to do the same. Anyone who does something for the first time is going to be able to improve a lot at it, in any profession, over time. We just have to hope his ceiling is as high as Allen's Agree...rules are tilted way too far in the offenses favor now for D to mean much against elite QBs, unless the DLine dominates up front like in the KC SB against TB.
-
Agreed. Does it really matter where they rank in the regular season? We have seen them get smoked 3 years straight. They just have to accept you are going to have to score 30+ and put the money on offense and fill in well enough on D. San Fran's D even got smoked(big assist to no QB and no offense) and they were probably the closest thing to a dominating D in the NFL this year. It just doesn't matter anymore. Good offensive teams are going to score their points, the rules are tilted too far to their side now.

It seemed the offensives have gotten too complex with too many counters for Rex's defense which ended up complicating his own defense to the point the players were all on different pages. His defense doesn't seem to work well in the era of RPOs and QB runs.
-
What happens if Rex tells Payton him and Rob are a package deal to exact Rob's revenge for getting fired in NO?
-
I thought it was pretty good actually
-
I'm not questioning it was a hold...I'm just questioning why none of the other holds that occurred up to this point were called but this one was. Seems odd the only defensive penalty other than something on the DLine for either team was a call of this magnitude that was no different from what was happening the rest of trh game that wasn't called. Just want consistency...not based on the moment of the game.
-
Exactly my point. The opportunities are rare and fleeting. Look at Rodgers and Manning and Brees.
-
They also have a ton of key FAs this off-season and a new massive contract for Hurts is right around the corner. And IMHO, he isn't going to do so great when he takes up that much cap money and they can't have everything else in place around him. He is good...may be very good. But if he was forced to carry the Eagles the way Josh carries the Bills they would be a 9 win team. He isn't at that level.
-
Be objective on what? Made up moves that haven't happened in your own mind? What's the point? At least 50% of what you think is going to happen will be wrong
-
Dan Marino thought that too... Nobody knows what the future holds. You need to take advantage of the opportunities you get. They may not get back for another decade.
-
You have no clue that is true. You won't know that until the regular season starts after the draft, FAs gained and lost by all teams and who gets injured in training camp and is out long term.
-
Ehh, he may be marginally better but they coach a lot better in playoff games. He's also been in 3 SBs and this is the first one he played well in.
-
Kelce apparently thinks he is black since he dates black women...trying to get that ghetto in his voice.
-
What a way to lose...on what I believe was the first defensive penalty that wasn't some sort of penalty on the line.
