I am sure Beane delegates the actual structure of the contracts to someone and whoever that someone is that comes up with this stuff is worth whatever he wants in terms of compensation in the front office.
-
I am not really interested in the guaranteed dollars as much as I am in the cap hits each year and the dead cap hit. Guaranteed for what? Injury or full? Most of the time those are guaranteed for injury after the main signing bonus. Either way, after 2024, Bills have until 3/17 before any guarantees for the 2025 season kick in and they can cut him for an 8.8 million dead cap hit to save almost 12 million(or designate it post 6/1 to break it into 2 years and save almost 18 million), or restructure. IMO there is zero chance he sees that 2025 contract as is with a nearly $21 million cap hit.
-
Only 24.5 million is actually guaranteed.

Cook hasn't even been released yet. They are still trying to trade him and likely will release him by the end of today if they can't. Miami is in the mix but apparently the Broncos are going to heavily pursue him as well.
-
They literally had a first down at the Patriots 14 yard line late in the game BECAUSE they started passing on a drive that covered 62 yards to that point...
-
Actually the Bills started opening up the passing game in that one and if Diggs catches a very catchable ball in the end zone we likely win... The game was 14-10 and the only time it was more than a 4 point lead was when the Pats score their first TD and got a 2 point conversion to make it 8-0. The Bills scored immediately after to make it 8-7. That was with a little more than 2 mins left in quarter one. It then went to 11-7, 11-10 and 14-10. I'm not sure how the game was "out of hand" with a max 4 point lead for more than 3 quarters. It's kinda crazy how people just make up whatever they need to that fits the narrative they have written in their own mind, facts be damned. The only time the Bills seemingly ran a lot last year was when the passing game was struggling, like the Bears game. Towards the end of the year they were throwing 50 yard bombs on 3rd and 1 plays.
-
Perhaps it's also a strategy to limit their production to make their next contracts lower and more affordable for the Bills? If they are playing 25% less snaps, they likely are putting up less production and that means their next contracts won't be as high as others with bigger numbers. At least theoretically.

So he doesn't like the Bills getting him for 2 years at cap hits less than what he would have been this year? I think it was brilliant, and the Bills have an out or restructure ability after 2 years in place.
-
Have you lost your mind, or are you just simply making stuff up out of thin air with no basis in reality? I suggest you go look at the play by play of games...if anything there are times we pass too MUCH, not too little

If teams want to run against us then good luck. They will find themselves down 3 scores by halftime most games.

Brilliant job by Beane... basically it's a 2 year $14.45 million dollar contract with the Bills able to save $16.35 million plus by cutting him after the 2025 season with under $6 million dead cap. Essentially Beane got him for 2 years at an Average of $7.225 on the cap versus 1 year at $10 million this year plus whatever it would have been to extend him after(or let him walk). Really Bills have an out after the 2024 season if they want it, they would save a little under $12 million on the cap and take a $8.85 million dead cap hit. Reduced his cap hit to $5 million this year and he got a $14.75 million signing bonus with $24.5 million guaranteed in total, all by 2024. Essentially Beane is giving him 2 years to show he can take his game to the next level and at that point will likely restructure it again if he does or cut him if he doesn't. No way he sees the 3rd year at a $20.75 cap hit. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/contract-details-ed-oliver-extension-142925943.html https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/ed-oliver-29044/

Smoke on the waaaaattteerr..... We got up to 230 around 1pm yesterday or so on terms of air quality index last night which is in the very unhealthy range in WNY, but Rochester and Syracuse and places East got the brunt... Syracuse/Binghamton had an air quality index of 460 at one point yesterday, anything above 300 is considered hazardous and recommendations are that everyone remain indoors at all times at that point. NYC max was 413, so it was slightly worse in the east central part of the state...NWS had a Twitter post in Binghamton at 9am showing the same orange sky and the lights were still on, temps not moving around 50 degrees due to sun being blocked. Has been greatly improving now as winds shifted, all the way down to 97 now here which is in the moderate zone... Index only goes up to 500 so that kinda shows how crazy it's been...

What’s up with Gambling int he NFL amongst NFL Players?
Big Turk replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Players have likely been doing it for a while now, they just haven't been getting caught...now the NFL apparently has a multitude of ways to find out, there are likely going to be a lot more players in trouble in the next year or two as they uncover more and more of this. -
Sabres goalies only wish they could have a save percentage of .920... Agree with you with Vinc making unbelievable saves early on, and the entire D came to play...so many times Colorado didn't get a shot off or ended up having to settle for a long range hurried shot as time expired on the shot clock. About the only thing that was annoying was how many rebounds Colorado kept getting and shot clock resets with Vinc making saves on those long shots only for it to go out of play and Colorado ending up with a fresh 30. Overall it was just a dominant effort...Ward, Colorado's goalie was playing out of his mind in the first half too, but he started cracking under relentless pressure in the 2nd.

He is in a sense he isn't going to be coaching, it's more like a learning year for him so he can experience what other teams do, etc. Basically he is either going to be a HC or retire next year from what it sounds like.

Is there anything considered very Buffalo you don’t embrace?
Big Turk replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Mighty Taco... Not a fan at all...personally think Taco Bell is better. And any of Chipotle's, Moe's, Salsarita's, Burrito Bay destroy it. -
Way to try and rewrite history...McNabb was a 6x Pro Bowler.
-
That's literally the purpose of the program. Way to report absolutely nothing 😂
-
Only one team wins them every year. It took Reid 20 years to win his first one.
-
He has also been a head coach 3x as long as McD...18 more years.
-
Is it? Reid's winning percentage is .641 and McD's is .639
-
Wins and losses are what matters right? By definition, he is a good coach. Or would you rather have Sexy Rexy back? Some of you try way too hard to be contrarians. There was an even larger portion at one point who was skeptical of Andy Reid's ability to do that too...how did that work out for them?
