Week 7 Bills @ Patriots - on to Foxborough!
Big Turk replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Belichick has literally had no answers for Allen defensively other than 70 mph winds. -
Was Elam ok or could the Giants just not take advantage of him?

No TDs and only 1 big play. Not the best, but not terrible either. -
How often has that happened that we got "beat"? You realize the Bills have the best record in the NFL since 2020 right? They also lead the NFL in point differential during that time by something like 170 points over 2nd place Kansas City. They also lead the NFL in allowing the fewest points in the NFL with an average of 18.9 points against. Like literally, WTF are you talking about? Next time have some actually real basis for the points you are trying to bring up, because the only basis for this is in fantasyland. Talk about having no perspective of the rest of the NFL.

This is patently false. The Bills are notoriously not great on D on first drives but then improve as the game goes on by leaps and bounds. Go back to last year and see how many teams scored on first drives against us and then see what they did for the rest of the game. Usually it was not much. Bills adjust on D exceptionally well as the game goes on. especially after seeing what the other team is trying to do.

This is of much more concern...basically Dorsey is making it simple for defenses to defend them out of certain formations because they run the same patterns/route combinations and do not give any window dressing to make it look like something different at all. Makes it easy to know what's coming. This is virtually inexcusable. Motions/shifts/varied look/formation...SOMETHING to make it look different and give them something to think about, but nope, same thing every time in certain formations. He did a LOT of window dressing against Miami and virtually none in the games since.

This is kinda disturbing actually...basically the Bills run the same plays exactly out of certain formations every week with nothing to try to fool the D...said it's why Okereke caused the INT...he knew what was going to happen based on the formation. If true, this is an absolutely terrible tell by Dorsey he is giving DC's...

This dude is getting paid crazy jack for the league literally being on auto-pilot.

Anyone else have issues trying to listen to the Bills live twitter feed of McD's press conferences? Audio constantly cutting in and out for long stretches...usually you hear a question being asked and then it goes silent. WTF is this? Why even broadacast hime if you are going to mute his response?? No mention of Bernard or Williams so that is a positive. -
I've always liked Morris...underrated athleticism and good hands.

is two deep the blueprint on how to beat the Bills?

The only positive is that in the Giants game at least after whiffing initially and Allen avoiding him and stepping up, Cook then doubled back and drove the defender about 5-6 yards further back and completely out of the play so there wasn't a chance he could hit Allen from behind after running by him. -
Why didn't McD mention either him or Bernard in the Monday injury update?

Neither was great but neither was terrible. -
Credit to him, but not like Tommy Doyle finishing a game in heat stroke conditions playing a position he never played before on a torn ACL like Week 3 last year in Miami.

I doubt it...they have been facing 2 deep coverages for a few years now and it usually doesn't work well. I think what works is stunts up front with the DLine that seems to confuse the pass protection far too often still and delayed blitzes coming from different areas of depth with guys dropping out that are near the line. Allen doesn't seem to know where his "answer" is quick enough against that. Cook in pass protection has been tremendously bad the last 2 games and is going to get Allen killed if he doesn't improve quickly. As in he has multiple "Ole!" blocks where he doesn't even lay a hand on the blitzer and they just run right around him. 2 of note in particular that I have seen in real time is the one against the Jags where Davis drops the 3rd down pass along the sideline after Allen had to rush the throw thanks to Cook's "block" and then again last game where Allen basically had to avoid the rusher again and stepped up and threw a completion to Diggs for the first down. -
And then he got tackled by his teammate which probably didn't feel great either 😂

I think we are all good there.

weird that McD didn't say anything about that on Monday when asked about injuries to players from the game.

McD did not mention anything about this in his Monday injury updates, at least not from what I heard. The Bills typically don't run well when they don't use the right TYPE of runs...they can gash teams with under center runs often times but Dorsey seems hesitant to use them far too often and instead goes with shotgun runs which have limited success rates. And if they want to run from the shotgun, Dorsey should go back to the Kelly era Bills and study the counter trey out of the shotgun since that was a staple they ran and it was highly effective...not this hand the ball off up the middle crap that goes nowhere most times. -
Yes, that's fair, but I also take issue with spacing on some of these plays. There was one play in particular where 4 Bills were within 10 yards of each other in the pass patterns with a bunch of defenders all in the same area too...it was literally like the Bills said "We want to force you defend as few blades of grass as possible!" while there were huge open areas of the field with nothing but space. This isn't the first game it's been mentioned either...a few times you'll see a ball end up being incomplete and 2 receivers will be literally right next to each other or even sometimes he will complete it and it's hard to tell who he was actually throwing to since both receivers are in the same general area.

I used to think she was super hot back when I was a teenage watching Three's Company.
