  1. He is trying to force Allen to be a Justin Herbert clone and it's neutering their offense. They are doing it to themselves. Teams are not respecting Allen's ability to pick up yards outside the pocket with his legs because like Herbert, Allen is trying to do anything but take off running, instead waiting too long many times to throw low percentage passes downfield to plastered receivers, precisely because he isn't forcing them to stay honest and respect his running where they feel the need to stop him from picking up 15 yards and an easy first down and leave the receiver open. Last year Allen had 70 more rushing attempts than Herbert(124 to 54). This year, he has 1 more rushing attempt than Herbert, and if he would have gotten in on the first QB sneak at the goalline yesterday or not taken off on the final lateral play, it would be the same. That's not acceptable. He is playing someone else's game and not his own. Mahomes had 66 rushes last year, this year he has 33, more than Allen. Lawrence has 41. Pickett had 14!! in one game yesterday. Let's not even get into Jackson and Hurts. If Dorsey wants to fix the offense, they need to let Allen start playing like Allen again and not some Justin Herbert clone.
  2. OTHER: Trying to turn Allen into a Justin Herbert clone where he extends plays out of the pocket but never wants to actually run, hoping to throw the ball downfield instead. Teams are not respecting Allen's threat to run in these situations anymore and instead plastering the receivers downfield, making the throws harder and harder to fit in. And worst of all, the Bills are doing it to themselves. I promise you if we see a gameplan where Allen starts running more, especially out of the pocket, all of a sudden everything will open up again. Bills are making themselves easy to defend. Last year Allen had 70 more rushing attempts than Herbert did on the season(124 to 54). This year he has 1 more rushing attempt than Herbert does(29 to 28). They have literally cut off their nose to spite their face on offense and trying to make Allen into someone else.
  3. Even muddle huddle would work where they simply get on the ball and force the D to keep the same personnel on the field once they get what they want. Much more likely to have that happen with him in the pocket.
  4. None...open up the offense by allowing Allen to play his game and stop trying to make him Justin Herbert.
  5. Allen is trying to become Herbert instead of playing his game, he is trying to play Herbert's game. Extend plays outside the pocket but only run as a last resort. That's not him. Allen ran 124 times last year, Herbert ran 54. This year Allen has ran 29 times, Herbert 28. That's a problem. Teams are not coming up to try and prevent Allen from taking off much because they don't respect that part of his game anymore because he hasn't MADE THEM respect it. They are simply giving him those areas to run and covering the receivers and he still won't take it now. Or waits until it's too late and tries to chuck up a pass with a super low completion chance when he runs out of room or a defender closes in. Allen needs to stop trying to play like Herbert and go back to playing like Allen.
  6. My issue is Allen is trying to become Herbert...extend plays and throw downfield but only run as a last resort. That ISN'T his game! Herbert has 28 rushes this year, Allen 29. Last year Herbert had 54 for the season, Allen 124. This is an issue! Allen needs to play his game more...he isn't threatening the D with his legs anymore on those rollouts so they are staying back more and covering the receivers downfield since they know he wants to throw not run...he needs to keep them honest in that way to open that back up again.
  7. He has been playing far more like Herbert this year where he is trying to extend plays far too long to throw downfield versus just taking off when he has the chance. Herbert had 54 rushes last year, Allen had 124. This year Allen has 29 and Herbert 28. Allen is trying to play someone else's game instead of his own. Even Mahomes and Lawrence have more rushes than Allen this year...Pickett had almost half as many rushes in 1 game yesterday with 14 than Allen does on the entire season. Allen is not threatening the D enough with his legs and they aren't respecting that part of the game so they are sticking with receivers more downfield because they know he wants to throw, not run...they aren't coming up at all anymore and it's making the windows much tighter. Run more!
  8. Does Hurts seem afraid to run? Mahomes? Jackson? Even Lawrence and Herbert have been using their legs. Pickett with the Steelers ran 14 times yesterday for God's Sake. Mahomes is running more than ever this year No, all of them are running frequently. Only Allen suddenly needs to be afraid to take off and he is bigger and stronger than all of them. Last year Allen had 124 rushes, Mahomes had 66. This year Mahomes has 33 and Allen has 29. Allen has gone from running twice as much almost to less than Mahomes. That's a problem. Hurts and Jackson have 69+ rushes each so far this year. Lawrence even has 41...Allen only has 1 more than Justin Herbert who NEVER tries to run and always is looking to throw downfield...Herbert finished with 54 last season. This is a PROBLEM. Allen is not running nearly AT ALL in comparison to last year and players who should be half or less than what he has in rushing attempts are above him this year or right with him.
  9. They have taken the fun out of the game for Allen...he wants to play loose and let it all hang out and he is being coached to be way more conservative. Let the man play...at least a little bit. You have to give him some of that every game, not only for him, but for the offense to be as effective as it can be.
  10. I think they are related honestly. He is almost coached to the point where he is scared to take off when it's there and tries to sit back and let something develop. Mahomes has gone in completely the other direction...if it's not there he is gone from the pocket and has been running more than he ever has this year to pick up chunks with his legs.
  11. they seem to have lost their Mojo a little...they'll get it back.
  12. They can't have it both ways...they need to let him play or they are going to suffer the consequences.
  13. 3 of those were sneaks. More often he ran around and then waited until it was too late to run or threw a super low completion chance pass instead of taking off
  14. They have basically neutered their offense by trying to limit Allen's rushing to the degree which they have. It's one thing if you try and tone it down a little...quite another where it seems like Allen is almost scared to try and run now and would rather run around back there and heave up a pass with like a 5% completion chance instead of taking off. No designed QB runs like QB Power or QB Sweeps, barely willing to take off running until it's the last resort and by that time it's too late. It's almost like they have sucked the life out of Allen and the offense by doing this to him. They need to let him play...there needs to be a happy medium, this is way too far in the other direction of not running or scrambling anymore. Yesterday was the most carries he had in a game this year with 7, and 3 of them were sneaks. Last year he already had 4 games with more than 7 carries at this time after 7 games and 3 of those were double digits. They are cutting off their nose to spite their face and making themselves easier to defend.
  15. It's nearly impossible to block 3 people on one pass play without intending to do so. Also Murray seemingly just stopped and the defender ran into him.
  16. 100% agree...they have willingly made themselves much easier to defend on offense. I get they don't want Allen running "as much" but that doesn't mean cut it out completely. Now he seems so scared to take off he's passing up chunks of yards for low percentage passes that have almost no chance of being completed, or simply throwing it away. Or worse, waiting until it's too late to run then throwing it away when if he would had taken off sooner he had a lot of room to run. At this point they are cutting off their nose to spite their face on offense.
  17. He'll be fine, just a little rough patch he is going to have to pull himself out of.
  18. So they lose 3 games all by one score, all coming down to the final minutes of the 4th quarter, and they need something to "save" their season? Talk about panicking. Get control of yourself man. They don't need to do anything other than re-focus themselves, accept their mistakes and then focus on correcting them. What they need to do is stop neutering Allen and let him run more. Allen seems so hesitant to use his legs, he is passing up chunks of yards for low percentage throws. Add to this no designed QB runs anymore and the offense has cut off it's nose to spite it's face. That is a huge part of the offense and a big concern in preparation for the opposing D...and now you've basically willingly took all that off the table for them and made yourself that much easier to defend. Get back to allowing Allen to run in some situations...there needs to be a happy medium, he is way too far in the other direction now where he is unwilling to run.
  19. Yeah, that's my takeaway...he is so reluctant to use his legs now he would rather run around for a while and then attempt a pass with like a 5% completion chance and a super high difficulty rate than take off running. They have gone too far in the other direction now and have effectively neutered not only him but also their offense. Teams don't have to worry about it as much now and they don't have to prepare for any of the designed runs the Bills were so good at either anymore. So Murray gets called for the same thing but this dude takes out 3 defenders and gets nothing? This is what drives me crazy...officials aren't even consistent within the SAME GAME, let alone week to week or among different officiating crews. It is so maddening to see this crap week in and week out, and I am not even talking about only Bills games. Refs seem determined to effect every late game outcome in the NFL over the last 4 weeks with their constant flags.
  20. They also kinda handed the Patriots a win this week by picking up an absolutely egregious illegal man downfield flag that gave them a 38 yard gain on their first play of the final drive. The man was 5 yards downfield! Like how far downfield does he need to be for you to let the flag stand? It was so bad they could use that in their offseason training videos for officials on what constitutes and illegal man downfield penalty.
  21. You sure you weren't in the circus tent with Joe Dirt last night when it was getting fumigated?
  22. C'mon man. This is ridiculous. It doesn't work like that in the NFL, and teams have standard protocols they use to help deal with Thursday games.
  23. I know the Eagles won but they don't look great except on the DLine...holy hell they have a wrecking crew there.
  24. Bills were giving Jones far too many easy completions with nobody around the receiver, and they threw a lot of short stuff as well.
  25. Allen has also only ran 29 times total this season...last year at this point he had 53 rushes. They are trying to neuter him far too much in the run game, IMO, and it's hurting them offensively. Teams had to prepare for those designed QB runs. Now they don't...when was the last QB Power or QB Sweep we saw? Allen had the most rushing attempts this year yesterday, with 7, and 3 of them were sneaks, not even true runs. Last year at this time he had 4 games with more than 7 rushes in a game, 3 of them double digit attempts. They need to turn him loose, at least a little bit, and make the defense fear him again in that way. I don't think they fear that aspect of the offense anymore because they haven't seen it at all this year.
