The more you listen to sports radio, the more you realize that if you are of above average intelligence, it will be exceedingly hard to think like the majority of callers who call in and try to make sense of their "logic" since it makes no sense other than to people like them...which unfortunately, are a lot of the American population these days. Sometimes I listen to people calling in and I just can't even get myself to a spot where any of what they said makes any sense whatsoever...but the problem is, trying to explain to them why would leave them with glassed over eyes and not understanding what you are saying anyway, so the best thing is not to even bother saying anything to them and just move on 😂

Dolphins are not very good against quality teams who are fundamentally sound. They rely on teams not being in position a lot, which is bad coaching and having undisciplined players on D far too much, IMO. The only potential saving grace for the Fins is overseas travel. It effects everyone differently and there is no way to know how it will effect individual players until you play the game.

That's not how it works in the NFL. You know this, stop being ridiculous.

KC cannot be a fraud since they have won 2 SB's, lost a SB and made it to 5 straight AFCCG's. Their defense is also top 5 in the NFL now which makes them possibly even more of a tough matchup in the playoffs. Until further notice they are always the team to beat in the AFC. I guess it's a good thing Rodgers tore his Achilles then and not his ACL?

Not really...they rotate their D-Line pretty regularly. He is a backup, so he is getting less snaps. He actually had 31%, Ford had 38% of snaps. AJE has been fairly productive since the start of 2022 tho...he has 11.5 sacks in that timeframe. I question if people on this board actually forget about games the minute a new one starts because I am not sure how you can be complaining about a guy playing part time with 11.5 sacks, a bunch of pass bat downs and an INT returned for a TD in part time duty.

I do...they don't scare me at all in a rematch. If only all games were played on paper and not on the field where a lot of this stuff is overrated and doesn't take into account the week-to-week nature of the NFL, matchups, tendencies, gameplans that might confound a team LONG ENOUGH to limit their production/scoring, etc.

Diggs leading the NFL in receptions now with 64, 4th in yards. Allen leading NFL in total TDs, QBR and completion percentage, 2nd in passing TDs, 3rd in passing success rate, 4th in yards, 5th in QB Rating, 3rd in sack percentage(lowest). IMO, he is having a career season even if all of the games don't look amazing.

I don't know how you just don't try to end the game there. Jets had been trying to stop Barkley all day and he still was putting up good yards. I'd hand the ball off to him and try to end the game. That's one of those games the Bills used to lose all the time and it would be almost unfathomable as to how it was possible to put yourself in a position to lose. Giants should have won that game easily, Jets were terrible. I don't know if I have seen a team win uglier than the Jets do in a long long time on a consistent basis.

Josh Allen is like: "I am not throwing away my shot... I am not throwing away my shot... Rise up When you're living on your knees, you rise up... Tell Diggs that he's gotta rise up... Tell your D that they've gotta rise up..."

Lamar is terrible in the playoffs mostly. Burrow is average and Cincy has shown they can get it done up to a point. I still don't really buy Jacksonville. I know they beat us but I would take a rematch with them in a heartbeat even if it's in Florida. KC might be more dangerous than ever because their defense and special teams are top 5-7 now. That's scary paired with Mahomes.

The Jets remind me of the Dick Jauron Bears where their offense was abysmal, but the D was so good they could steal a game as long as their QB didn't puke all over himself and actually did literally anything of value in the game. Pretty much every game other than the Cowboys game was a nail biter because their D is so good it keeps teams under 20 points for the most part. Pickett has been pretty garbage mostly this year. Their offense has been bad.

Bills are still Top 5 in DVOA. Vegas sees them, and rightly so, as a very good team.

Agree, everyone is enamored by the Fins in the National Media because they are the shiny car that goes 200 mph but can't brake at a red light.

I was watching the last episode of Quarterback Season 1 on Netflix yesterday morning and Mahomes was on talking about the Bills-Cincy game and about the two teams since they already beat Jacksonville at that point and knew they would be playing one of them the next week. It really stung when Mahomes said he thought Cincinnati was a better team but that the Bills could definitely still win and that he thought they matched up better with the Bills than the Bengals. I can't say he was wrong tho. They came out and T-Rolled us on both sides of the ball. I can't say the Chiefs are overrated because they have won 2 Superbowls in the last 4 years, lost another and been to the AFCCG 5 straight times. Until they at minimum get knocked out in the divisional round, they are still the team to beat. Now their D and Special Teams are actually really good too and they have become more balanced as well. Jags are overrated. Bills as currently constructed with their defensive injuries are probably overrated as well. Doesn't mean they can't figure it out as the year goes on, just means right now they haven't yet. Ravens and Dolphins are both overrated. Jackson doesn't play well in the playoffs. He tends to play his worst in those situations. Has happened many times, including against us once. Dolphins can't beat good teams, they got smoked by us and lost to Philly as well although they hung with them for a half and tied it after looking like they were about to get blown out initially. Not sure how anyone could say the Fins are underrated since everyone seems to be salivating about their offense and them scoring a bunch of points. Bengals are underrated. Every year it's the same thing...they start out really slow, Burrow looks like he isn't even a DIII level QB, then by week 6 they start turning it on and go on a hot streak and finish near the top of the AFC. Their DC is a really good playoff DC and knows how to limit Mahomes and apparently the Bills as well...offense SHOULD be better than it is, especially in the playoffs, but they win because they play very solidly as a team. Browns are underrated...they have a menacing D that can help keep them in any game and have been doing fairly well with Watson and their backups playing not great...if Watson comes back and gives them anything approaching good QB play, watch out. In the NFC, it's looking like San Fran and Detroit are overrated...IMO, Purdy is starting to be figured out by opposing DC's and I think you are starting to see him fall back down to earth. Their D isn't quite as fearsome as it looked earlier in the year either...Lions got absolutely demolished by the Ravens and it showed they have a long way to go in terms of being taken seriously in the upper echelon of teams, IMO. Seattle is probably underrated. They now lead the NFC West and have great WR's and CB's...Geno Smith continues to look like a solid, if unspectacular QB for them.

It will depend on the offense and if they have figured anything out in regards to attacking Cincy's defense. IMO, the D is not going to be able to stop their offense unless they get some help from TO's.

O'Sullivan makes some very interesting observations and points on the Bills offense and in regards to play design: 1) Bills RPO game is exceptional in pretty much every way - scheme, nuances, variety and execution. Bills stretch teams both vertically and horizontally using these. Typically run an ARPO game which adds a "free access" element to the play as well the traditional RPO. Free access usually comes in the form of a speed out, smoke screen or vertical pressing route(Davis sideline throw in beginning of game/"glance" route in a condensed formation up the seam). O'Sullivan extensively breaks down at least 5-6 plays and is almost salivating at how good it is from all standpoints. Cannot stop stressing how great they are at it and how well designed it is from every aspect and more advanced than the majority of teams. 2) Allen was responsible for the INT due to coming out of the play fake flat instead of taking it "up the chute" or vertical. Going vertical out of the fake is to enable him have more time to elude a defender or turf it into the ground to a receiver if an unblocked edge player is coming at him which is what happened. Ironically, he also showed how the Bills shifting from a 2x2 set they were in initially to a 3x1 set is what caused Winfield to drop down and pressure...if they stayed in the 2x2 set there would have been no unblocked edge player and likely no INT. 3) Bills "mesh" concepts can sometimes be more like college where they turn it upfield and "run to green grass" versus just across the field. Said he loved that about the play Shakir caught deep downfield is that both Davis and Diggs who were the shallow mesh crossers turned upfield at the end of the route and says you almost never see that in the NFL as part of the design of the play. Said Shakir was not even in the route progression on the play most likely which is why Allen took so long to find him as that is normally just a clear out route. 3) Allen often times bypasses what "should" be the hot read/progression to create other plays that you are like "No, no, no! Yes!" on . Showed several examples of them. The Shakir throw where he caught it in the flat and ran over the defender early in the game, the Kincaid throw up the sideline where he made an amazing catch and the Kincaid TD were all examples of Allen bypassing the hot read to choose a different option. I think what we are starting to see is that Allen plays by his own sets of rules on blitzes in terms of hot reads and sometimes they work out really well, and other times they don't(like the last 3 weeks). Would be interesting to see what the differences were this week that allowed them to mostly work out where they did not the last few weeks. 4) Davis could have potentially had another TD on the play that Allen threw just a little too far out in front of him...Davis acted like he might be hot and started to try and settle down after clearing a defender where Allen threw the pass as if he was going to continue running...if Davis kept running Allen hits him in stride and he likely takes it to the house. 5) Allen is opening himself up to taking some unnecessary hits by not taking his hot reads at times because he extends plays and often times waits for something downfield to come clear. Example he showed was on the play to Diggs over the middle where Allen doesn't throw hot, rolls out a little and then throws a strike to Diggs which he catches for like 14-15 yards but he takes a pretty good shot. Could have avoided any hit by just throwing to the hot player initially. All in all, O'Sullivan basically says you have to take the good with the bad because Allen is such a unicorn and can do things that nobody else can do. Said the scramble TD by Allen was crazy because he had 5 defenders converging on him and not a single player even touched him before he waltzed into the endzone.

I am talking about in situations where the other teams have leads. They likely play softer against us to prevent a big play which then makes it somewhat easier for us... Numbers are numbers, but overall the Bills would win far more games with the offense from yesterday versus the offense from the last 3 weeks.

He likely will get a fine and/or suspension for it.

Lots of coaches do the same thing in those situations. I see it almost every game I watch. It gives the punter extra room to operate.

The defense also is likely to be playing them differently with a lead...perhaps they spend more time trying to make sure the Bills don't get it all back on one play and play softer coverage. There are a myriad of differences that go into it. If I had to choose, I would take last night's offense over any of the last 3 weeks, IMO.

We have seen this happen before and the Bills almost always win the game. Kinda like the Sabres in that regard...they sometimes let the other team basically spend the entire 3rd period in their end defending a lead and it's completely nerve wracking at times, but since the start of last season the Sabres are undefeated in regulation when leading after 2 periods at 30-0-4. It might not always look pretty but it is effective and it's ultimately hard to argue with the end result, which is to win the game.

We also saw how that helped the defense as well as they never trailed in the game and weren't chasing things the whole game.

I think the difference is when you are in control of the game, you have less need for trying to generate big plays later in the game so you are unlikely to try for them as much since the risk/reward ratio is far higher in favor of risk. This obviously would lead to a lower EPA/play than when you are behind and constantly trying to throw and maybe taking some chances downfield. I think the better metric would be comparing 1st half EPA/play versus 2nd half EPA/play over the past 3 games versus last night. The Bills offense being on fire in the 2nd half of those games and taking more risks since they had no choice and needed points fast, helped boost that number a little bit artificially, IMO. IMO, if the Bills wanted to score more points, they easily could have taken a riskier approach and done so. Based on the flow of the game, it was not needed.

Could be even sooner than that if he is some super freak healer like the Watt Brothers were...both TJ and JJ returned way before expected with similar injuries. They don't owe it to anyone under league rules and there is no advantage to doing so, so it's unlikely to happen.
