  1. Three weeks ago was three weeks ago. This team has continuously shot themselves in the foot every game since and tried to throw away games they won. They can still turn it around but something has to change and it has to be more than just the players executing better. Clearly they either don't believe in what they are doing on offense or they are not making proper game to game adjustments because there is no way this offense should look so inept for such long stretches. I feel like I am watching the Fitz era Bills under Chan Gailey far too often lately.
  2. But the dudes aren't even open. They are showing the view from behind the line and at no point were either of those players open enough to warrant them being thrown the ball.
  3. They sucked but at least then you kinda accepted it because at the end of the day they just didn't have enough talent to really compete with good teams. The losses were maddening, but honestly, many times they were punching over their weight class in some of those games they ultimately lost. This team is just doing it to themselves. Turnovers, dumb plays, poor execution, stupid penalties, etc. This is the 2nd time where they haven't led for an entire game(Patriots game also), come back to take a late lead and then still lose. Think they have trailed more this year already than they have the last 3 years combined.
  4. You make them snap the ball. That's not automatic as we saw in the Bills-Vikings game. You also force them into a hurry-up mode. McD felt confident because he said they practiced running the dime team off and the FG unit on 2-3 times during practice last week. They didn't execute it properly. As McD said in the PC, "it's inexcusable". This ST coach needs to go also...dude has turned our normally good ST kick coverage units into a sieve.
  5. How about don't make the throw if the guy isn't actually open? Or throw it to someone else? Or run(although I know he has been coached that running is bad)? Or throw it out of bounds?
  6. hard to believe since he is the winningest coach in franchise history, but if you say so.
  7. The thing that really is sticking with me is why does Allen keep making the same stupid throws week in and week out all of a sudden? The second INT that he threw towards Harty was the same throw that got picked off last week by the Bengals and the same mistake(throwing the ball too inside), but the guy wasn't open to begin with... Then he almost threw another INT to Kincaid where the defender was out of bounds because he couldn't get his 2nd foot down that was the exact same INT he threw in the Patriot game when he tried to hit Knox on the first play of the game. WTF is he doing? Why isn't he learning from his mistakes and why does he keep making the same ones over and over again?
  8. Hopefully he doesn't get hurt late in the year and miss 2/3 of next season now.
  9. His blunders typically aren't in the regular season tho. The Bills routinely won these type of games in the previous 5 years.
  10. When you are trying to rely on a defense down 5 starters including 2 all-pro's and likely the most important player on the D(DaQuan) and your D has kept you in there the entire game, it's kind of ridiculous to put anything on them. They were the only reason this game wasn't a blowout in favor of the Broncos. The Bills offense needs to stop handing the ball to the other team every game and punting 5 straight possessions. The whole point is you shouldn't be putting this defense in this position AT ALL in these type of games to begin with. Start doing your job on offense properly.
  11. I think most of what has gone wrong this year stems from McD taking on double duty as DC and HC. This kinda stuff was not the norm under him. In fact, this is kinda like the anti-McD. Think it's obvious some things are being overlooked and slipping thru the cracks in terms of preparation, attention to details and just general oversight that he can't have anymore because of him being heavily invested in creating defensive gameplans and calling plays. Personally, I think McD needs to pick someone to hand off DC duties to and go back to just being a HC full time. Clearly this is not working out the way we had hoped, and it's no coincidence this sloppiness that has pervaded this team throughout the year started the first year McD attempted to pull double duty. Even most HC's that run one side of the ball still have coordinator's that do most of the heavy lifting on that side of the ball during the week.
  12. McD said they practiced running off the field on dime defense to FG unit 2 to 3 times this week and failed to execute it properly in the game. Said he was "not real happy" with this game.
  13. Tyler Boyd declined an interview after the Bengals loss where he dropped a TD pass that hit him right in the hands in the end zone on 3rd down and forced a FG to tie it, which allowed the Texans to win by kicking their own FG. Have seen it happen a bunch of other places as well. Agree, not a good look but not uncommon either. Only players that are required to speak to the media are the ones the Bills send out after the game. Everyone else can if they feel like it but it's like a bonus if they choose to, they are not required to.
  14. Seems like if its close late in the game other than on Hail Mary's where anything goes still, a flag is coming. Have seen more game altering flags late in games this year than I have in the last 10 years combined I think. All over the league. The Browns-Colts game was a travesty...basically handed the game to the Browns with like 4 defensive penalties on the Colts in the last 40 seconds. 2 of them were absolutely ridiculous calls.
  15. Not to mention the average drivestart for the Broncos in the game was their own 41!! That's inexcusable. Broncos scored on 6 points off 4 TO's, the Bills scored 7 off of their 1. Anyone blaming the defense is barking up the wrong tree. This game should have been a runaway victory for the Bills if they stopped turning the ball over. They averaged 7.1 yards per play on offense! Just stop turning it over and they win by 2 scores.
  16. Ran it and ran it well...192 yards rushing. More yards rushing than passing. Cook averaged 9.1 YPC. Murray averaged 7.6 YPC. Yet he stopped running for a while and kept having Allen dropping back...why??? If the run is working keep sticking to it.
  17. Murray had some big runs during that time so it's not like the Bills didn't do anything without him.
  18. Cook fumbles on the first play of the game. Davis has a ball literally hit him perfectly in stride right around his face and go straight thru his hands for an INT inside the Bronco 15 yard line. Kincaid has a ball hit him right in the hands perfectly in stride up by his face and go straight thru his hands on 3rd down that would have been a nice conversion and forced a punt. Diggs has a drop on a nicely thrown ball that would have set up a 3rd and 2 and made Kincaid's 8 yard catch a first down instead of 4th and 2 and they punt again---or was that when they go for it on 4th down and he airmailed Shakir who was open? Either way, should never have happened and only did because Diggs dropped an easily catchable pass. Bills were great on 3rd down D the whole game until the last 2 drives when those flip passes right past Dorian Williams happened 2 times too many. 12 men on the field on a missed FG that would have won the game...like WTF was that? That was some Chan Gailey or Rex Ryan or Dick Jauron era stuff right there. Like c'mon man. Inexcusable.
  19. Cook averaged 10 yards a carry(even with the fumble) and Murray had a few big runs also. Inexplicable why Dorsey sees the offense hum whenever they actually run the ball and commit to it versus Allen dropping back and passing every play but yet he continuously treats the running game like it's the red headed step-child of the offense.
  20. IMO, him pulling double duty as DC has caused his oversight in other areas to wane and it's hurting them in terms of situational awareness and details.
  21. No words. I feel like I am watching the Dick Jauron or Chan Gailey or Rex Ryan era Bills losing games in new and inexplicable ways every week. McDermott obviously CANNOT effectively manage both the DC and HC jobs. This season has basically turned into a crap show in terms of details and preparedness in situations, etc where they were mostly buttoned up before(at least during the regular season). He used to be the Anti-Ryan or Anti-Jauron in that he would make the other teams make those mistakes against us in key situations. IMO, the first thing that needs to happen TONIGHT is McD needs to hand over play calling responsibilities to a defensive coach and have him audition for DC the rest of the year. Too much stuff is going awry and it's not a coincidence it's all happening the year he tries to pull double duty.
  22. Going to likely be without Higgins again and now Trey Hendrickson who will miss at least a few weeks with a hyperextended knee and waiting on MRI results to ensure it's not anything more than that. That's a tall order...but as we've seen, these inter-division games can really go any which way. EDIT: MRI came back clean, no other damage.
  23. Fins signed WR Anthony Schwartz to their PS, ran a 4.27 second 40 yard dash time and was the world record holder of the fastest 100 meter dash of any person under 18 years old. Not saying the Bills need to build a track team but they need to start getting faster...seems every team is adding speed first and the Bills are still looking at other things with speed a distant requirement. Speed without the ability to play football well doesn't help much, but more speed when you already have a ton of players who are super fast and can play football well really puts stress on a defense. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/dolphins-sign-wr-anthony-schwartz-144526230.html
  24. Yup, but Cincinnati is in the same boat...they only have one conference win(against us unfortunately)
  25. Yup...typically it's a person the HC really trusts and they likely are being "trained" to become a HC at some point and assists the head coach in some of the more "grunt work" duties of a HC.
