The "McDermott Handicap" and hopefully a solution
Big Turk replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did you ever consider the plays are being run to set up something like this later in the game? As I said...most fans don't even know what they don't know. That is about as open as you'll ever be in the NFL. Precisely because the entire D bit on the screen to Diggs they had run multiple times prior. An extra split second and that is a TD... -

The "McDermott Handicap" and hopefully a solution
Big Turk replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think every fanbase in the NFL has a similar opinion of their coach. It's always easier when you get 24 hours to sleep on it to come up with "all the things you would have done different in the moment" but far harder when you are actually in the moment. Fans also don't even know what they don't know when it comes to what goes into those decisions many times. -
WR’s checking with officials when lining up
Big Turk replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think all of it. Most times, from what various players have chimed in with, they are being told to move up so that would point to an illegal formation being the concern. Lining up ahead of the ball and the center and only inches away from Von Miller is almost unfathomable for a player who has played in hundreds of games throughout every level of football and taken tens of thousands of reps at the WR position. -

No I can't because I am not going to go back and watch every game where they run that play because you can't remember what you have watched during the season. That's your work to do if you want to correct that false narrative you have in your mind. -
No, watch this video to understand why...Ocho says sort of the same thing, but then Sharpe tells him when does that happen? It happens when you are next to the side judge split out wide not in close like that...then Ocho is like, "oh yeah, they were in a condensed split, you right, he isn't going to say anything there". Toney could HAVE DONE HIS JOB and checked with official. What is inexcusable is a WR who has played 100's of games thru all levels of football doesn't know that lining up PAST THE BALL AND AHEAD OF THE CENTER is not a valid alignment for a WR. That's what inexcusable. Stop with the nonsense.

Bills Hire DJ Mangas as Offensive Assistant

But the Bills have also shown they looked very good against other tough fronts like the Eagles, so I would look at this as more of an aberration...Allen has only been sacked 18 times in 13 games. -

Actually they have worked a lot...how can you have watched Bills games and not seen them picking up a bunch of first downs using them or gaining 7-8 yards on first downs or even moving the chains with like a 12-15 yard gain? It's the "free access" part of the ARPO plays they run. -

The OLine had some serious issues in the 2nd half with their pass pro. Not many teams are going to look good offensively when their QB is under duress all half. They need to shore that up big time...Spencer Brown against Micah Parsons is going to be a problem if they don't get him help. -
Typically the officials only tell them if they ask...you will see the WR point at the official or give them a "thumbs up" sign to ask "Am I good?" and then you will see the official either nod or give them a move back hand motion. Toney never did that, he was looking at the ball the entire time which makes it even more mind boggling since he HAD to know he was offside.
-
This might be the exact thing the Bills needed to galvanize them, give them an "us against the world" mentality, play for each other and their coach(who most players still here seem to actually love) and peak at the right time...make no mistake, if they get in the playoffs every team is hoping they won't be the ones having to play them.

Went to Q39 when we were in Fountain City also...that place rocks! Best BBQ I ever have had, although some locals said it's not even in the top 3 but opinions seemed to vary 😂 Did you get to check out the little area that is modeled after Seville, Spain?

Not if they order the brisket here 😂

Toney saved us from another Billsy moment…
Big Turk replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Von flashed a few times, at least 3 or 4, he is coming around. Why people don't understand this is actually normal for players coming back off ACL tears I don't get. How many times do you have to see players needing a year and half a season to look anything like their former self at all? I mean we just saw the same thing with Tre White last year and multiple other players but yet people still act like they are just going to be back to their normal self immediately? Why? IMO, he is right around where he should be at this point in his recovery. Fans having ridiculous expectations is not really his problem. -

I was actually hoping for that...Allen is exceptional in those situations -
I mean the Eagles kicker made one against us in the wind and rain on a grass field...Aubrey has not missed a kick all season.
-
He flashed this game a few times tho...almost caused a strip sack fumble on that incomplete pass, caused Mahomes to step up and throw it away on another play in the first half when he was being double teamed by the back and RT and was close on a few other plays... Likely also the first game he played without that brace on which probably helped too... Expecting he will continue to improve each week moving forward.

Carl Cheffers in the pool reporter interview after the game: Question: "Andy Reid just told us that it’s his experience that it is customary for an official to tell the head coach and even sometimes tell the receiver that they need to back up or that they’re lined up Offside. Did that happen in this case? And does that process usually work?" Cheffers: "Yes, ultimately, if they look for alignment advice, certainly we are going to give it to them. But ultimately, they are responsible for wherever they line up. And, certainly, no warning is required, especially if they are lined up so far Offside where they’re actually blocking our view of the ball. So, we would give them some sort of warning if it was anywhere close, but this particular one is beyond a warning.”

James Cook's Kamara-esque game...(edit:new discussion on page 4)

He weighs 190 lbs, that's a little light but he should be able to do a good enough job. -

So what? That is irrelevant. Imagine being a clown that has a 1st ballot HOF QB on your team that has led countless drives to come back and take the lead under 2 minutes, including multiple times in Arrowhead over the last few years and being "afraid" he couldn't do it. Honestly, there are people here that make me want to put a bag over my head so I don't have to be associated with them. No matter how much teams win in WNY, there are still fans that will always have a perpetual loser mentality. -

It's all about dropping your hips in that spot...he still doesn't do it very well and stays too high.
