  1. Even without being ravaged by injuries, the Dolphins regularly and routinely have folded like a cheap tent over the past 20 years+ when December has come along. Last year they snuck into the playoffs by turning an 8-3 stat into a 9-8 finish. The year they came to Buffalo in the final week of the season in a "win and in" scenario with the Bills having already clinched the division and being locked into their seed and left with a 56-26 beatdown, which included Matt Barkley and the backups playing all 2nd half and showing no letup. This year, they haven't beaten a team with a winning record and start December by turning a game they had a 99.6% chance to win into an L. They also have games against the Ravens, Cowboys and Bills, which they should go 0-3 in. If the Bills beat the Cowboys, they likely win the division outright in Week 18.
  2. Gotta start drafting DBs. Luckily the Bills seemingly are able to get quality DBs regularly late in the draft and as UDFA's. Benford was a 6th round pick, Jackson is a 7th round pick, Wallace and Lewis were UDFA's. Also lucky the Bills scheme might be the most DB friendly in the entire NFL where it minimizes the weaknesses of any players who play in it. I think people are greatly underestimating how much the cap will rise over the next 3-4 years. Should be over $300 million by 2027 at the latest by virtue of all the new TV contracts kicking in. Bills have already likely taken this into account and will be fine.
  3. It's a super low percentage play to begin with, I think it would be hard to make something like that happen simply because there are so many bodies that player would have to try and get thru that could throw the timing of the play off.
  4. Gotta have a Fish Fry...that's a huge thing here...unlike most places that have it around Lent, we do it here every Friday all year and it's pretty much standard fare at any restaurant on a Friday. It would be harder to find a restaurant that doesn't offer it than one that does. Typically the portions are fall off the plate humongous. Sounds like a good plan for the game... You are lucky I guess...looks to be the only day with any potential snow in the long term 15-day forecast...temps have been very unseasonably mild here and only 3-4" of snow so far. Which after last year's historic fight with Mother Nature thru Christmas is very much appreciated. Thank you El Nino.
  5. Teams never learn...don't poke the hungry bear just waking up from its hibernation. Bills are thinking to themselves The night is always darkest just before dawn.
  6. Of course...anyone in any type of management role anywhere will have that happen. But the current players took that article personally and took it as an attack on them as well and they pretty much to a man voiced their strong support of McD when they didn't have to. They could have just gone the route of not saying much about it speak volumes of their actual thoughts. Instead they came out and strongly disagreed with the article. That doesn't happen unless they actually mean it...there was real emotion behind that. Their actions when McD got the game ball when they went bonkers in the locker room after the game tells you all you need to know...actions speak a lot louder than a reporters articles. And their play on the field, fighting for a coach they could have just as easily folded on if it was true also spoke volumes.
  7. I have a hard time believing that players who a coach has "no relationship with" would be extremely forceful in their support for him and give very very strong opinions of what they think of him, with almost all of it being positive. Almost no chance this would happen...if that was true their support would be tepid, in this case the players almost acted as if they took it as an attack on themselves as well and took it personal. That's not the sign of a coach that has no relationship with his players, that is the sign of a coach that has a great relationship with his players. Actions speak far louder than stories or words written down...and their actions spoke volumes. And them going Ape Sh** in the locker room when McD was given a game ball is pretty much all you need to know about what they thought about that article...oh yeah, their play on the field kinda summed it up also. They coulda folded on him and instead they fought for him.
  8. I don't...the dude has gotten paid more money in the last 2-3 years to suck at his job than most people will make in their lifetime and even if he gets fired for sucking at his job, he will more than likely have a high paying DC job waiting for him somewhere.
  9. Reporter: "Do you expect to be the coach here tomorrow?" Staley: "I don't know"
  10. Cue the Dolphins December swoon for the umpteenth time in the last few decades. The question shouldn't be "Can the Bills catch the Dolphins?", the question really should be "What makes you think they won't after what you have see over the past 20 years from the Dolphins in December?"
  11. I'd almost expect it even if it's just a knee jerk reaction to having a team that scored 0 points the week before drop 63 on you and it could have been 80+ if they really wanted it
  12. How doesn't Denver have a chance at the division? They are only one game behind the Chiefs, split the season series with them and I believe have the tiebreaker with them if they finish with the same record.
  13. I thought we were going to see the first time an NFL coach was ever fired at halftime in this game...honestly no idea how they let him walk out there starting the 3rd quarter. If he makes it out of the stadium as the coach still I will be shocked. He should be given a one way ticket back home on a commercial flight and told to stop in tomorrow morning to clean out his belongings. How many pathetic performances and underachieving seasons can you have without being fired?
  14. That's simply incorrect. He has played very well in zone coverage for the Bills and very poorly in man coverage. PFF graded him as the best zone defender on the Bills last year and the worst man defender. It matched the eye test and the breakdowns of youtube videos on him...
  15. They literally just ran one with Cook early in the game against the Chiefs. He got 12-15 yards on it.
  16. I think you'll be changing your tune in about 4 weeks...it really is utterly amazing how common these injuries are, how frequently we see players take many weeks of playing to get things looking "right", and how we literally just watched the same process play out with Tre last year where he looked slow and terrible for week after week until he suddenly just didn't...and yet people still think it will be like Madden and when the player comes back from injury he will be 100% instantly. I mean how do people not understand what the process is and how long these take to actually come back and look right is by now? It's only been a few decades of watching the same thing over and over again.
  17. Love how you see one of the Chiefs cheerleaders come around the corner and she looks terrified and wants to get out of there ASAP! 😂
  18. Not sure what game you watched against the Chiefs. Must not have been paying attention. File this under "I am going to look pretty dumb in about 4 weeks" Not sure how you just watched Tre come back from the same injury and saw how long it took him to look right(pretty much up until the end of last season and into this year) and expect that it some how should be different with Von's injury. Or literally hundreds of other players who have had the same injury. This is what happens and they have to play thru it until they get back to where they were pre-injury. Really tells you who actually watches football and who just casually observes it.
  19. Yeah most thought it was a stretch to say that a 1 win Arizona team would have beat them by double digits too I'm sure.
  20. He was pretty good in the Chiefs game
  21. There definitely will be a healthy jump with the new TV contracts kicking in next year...likely a healthier jump than most predicted.
  22. Defensive Splits for the Cowboys: Offensive Splits for the Cowboys: Cowboys average a full yard per play less on the road and Dak has an 11% lower completion percentage, his QB Rating is 31 points lower and he has thrown 8 TDs with 4 INTs versus 20 TDs and 3 INTs at home. Defensively, they allow 8% higher completion percentage, 0.5 YPC more on the ground, and have allowed 10 passing TDs with only 4 INTs versus 7 passing TDs with 9 INTs at home along with a 23+ point higher QB Rating allowed. Not surprisingly Dallas Dallas' Point Differential is +171 at home and +17 on the road and average over 18 PPG less on the road. Dallas is not a great road team, the Bills can win this game and it may not be as difficult as we think.
  23. Thank God...he has been dreadful on Prime Thursday Night coverage. He'd rather sit around and tell stories all night than announce what is happening...that is secondary to his stories it seems.
