Believe me, I've got buddies who have stubbornly debated with me for years about the "SEC is the best conference" argument.

38 consecutive starts I believe... Leader.. Had some shoulder problems, but if he started that many games the guy is tough no doubt.. Great special teamer as well, apparently.

And he played both tackle spots there... Mayock gave some very positive analysis on him.

You said it... The SEC is always at the top in recruiting too and have dominated the BCS Championship. As a native southerner myself, I can tell you football is a religion down there. Never seen rivalries like I've seen in the SEC. Nix and Gailey are from Alabama and Georgia too.. It makes a lot of sense that they pick mostly southern school prospects. Remember all of this in future draft projections and mock drafts... Narrow your research down to southern schools and you'll probably predict Buffalo's selections. As long as Nix and Gailey are there anyway..

Best 40 at the combine at his position... and that hit on the Miami WR that got him ejected was sick. Dude's gonna bring some nasty to the defense... Maybe he'll lay out Gronkowski like that!

That's what I'm thinking.. Though more LB depth late in the draft couldn't hurt.

Well cross Cousins off the list... Gone to the Skins.. Massie would be interesting... A couple of road graders in this draft and the Bills running game would look fantastic.

Yeah, not sure what the strategy was with this trade up... Hope to hear the organization's thinking on this one. But if he ends up being as good a punt returner as Parrish at least, its fine by me...

Mayock just said he had him rated as a 7th rounder... and we traded up for him..? Ah, well they just said we switched 3rd round spots and gave up a 7th... Not too bad I guess...

I'm from the South and have been an SEC fan my whole life... The SEC has won the last 6 straight BCS Championships and 8 out of 14 total... Yeah, I'd say drafting players from that conference is a sound strategy.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Don't know that he'll be a LT... But he'll be very versatile inside or at RT and certainly help the running game. Awesome pick!

That's some great research... I always knew CB was a high percentage in the first round just from watching and reading the coverage, but that's even higher than I thought. With the way the NFL has become so pass-oriented, its no surprise. I'll be very interested in seeing how Williams and Gilmore progress as starters, considering the uncertainty with McGee, Florence and McKelvin over the next season or two. The nickel defense could be quite formidable if Gilmore develops quickly and McKelvin can step it up finally.

Based off some of the things I just read in this "senior NFL columnist" draft grade article, I like my chances as a sports writer.

I'll say this much for Nix... He's consistent... SEC, SEC, SEC! Don't ever bet otherwise... When you all do your predictions in the future, make sure its an SEC or other southern conference college prospect. Notre Dame..? B.C...? Iowa..? Meh...

I don't think its so hard to believe that the NFL would rather see their top revenue and/or most popular teams gaining better ratings for them in the postseason... Would the general NFL fan base rather see New England/Pittsburgh/NY Jets/Baltimore vs SF/NY Giants/Dallas/GB in a Super Bowl..? Or Buffalo/Cincinnati/Jacksonville/Cleveland vs Seattle/St. Louis/Detroit/Arizona..? Somehow, I'm betting the ratings and merchandise sales would be different.

Awesome news! I've been subscribing to the NFL Sunday Ticket for 16 years and the price had gotten ridiculous. I've been negotiating with them on discounts for 3-4 seasons now and its become more of a hassle each year. Good stuff! $200 is quite reasonable... I wonder how long it'll last..?
