  1. I don't know why no one is talking about us drafting Limas Sweed. Mark my words, he will be the best receiver to come out of the group. He has pretty decent timed speed for his size, a history of production that goes beyond just 1 year, great intangibles and he will be a huge red zone target with his wingspan.

  2. Totally agree.....particularly since we have a high rotation system.

IMO if Ellis did drop to us it would be wise to pick him. We might well be set at DT......but we may well still be weak. There are no guarantees that McCargo will develop into the level of player that we ultimately want(need)......and there is a reasonable possibility that Stroud will not fully recover from his injuries to his past levels as well as the whole substance abuse issue.

Even if both Stroud and McCargo both play at probowl level, the high rotation system we use will not only enable us to get a lot of use out of Ellis in the next few seasons but provide us with great flexibility when Stroud & McCargo come to the end of their contracts in 3 years time.

And just to add on to that, I think that the Giants proved that you can never have enough dominant D-lineman. A solid line would really help out the D-backs and linebackers

  3. Ellis would be a back up, why would we spend the 11th pick on him? It is extremely unlikely he will be anywhere near McCargo's level this year. Infact, this will be McCargo's break out year (hopefully), as he was an absolute monster at times last year.

I agree Ellis would start the year as a backup. But to say he won't be ANYWHERE near McCargo's level I think is a pretty optimistic view of McCargo's ability. I agree that McCargo will be a much better player next year, but Ellis is a monster. Every level he has played at, he has dominated. Including at the Senior Bowl. I think it would be accurate to predict that Ellis will have a similar rookie year to Amobi Okoye.

  4. I agree, no way Ellis falls past New England. Or the Bengals. However, if he falls to us we take him. We will be getting a WR in the 2nd round, and he will be good. I do think the Bills should have paid Johnson's price tag to hedge their bets, but he either way if Ellis is there, you take him. Mark my words, one of the top 10 talents everyone is talking about will fall to the Bills. If it is one of the defensive lineman (Gholston, Ellis, Dorsey,) you have to take them. Hell, the only guys I wouldn't draft within the projected top 10, would be one of the CB's. I think there always has to be a CB in the top 10, but most are not worth taking that early.

I agree it gives us leverage to trade down, but who would we trade down with? I keep hearing the Cowboys, b/c they have 2 first round picks and need a WR. But they obviously are going to land one of the top 4 WR's who are essentially all rated similar. Who else wants pick 11?
