  1. James so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.
  2. That makes sense, pretty simple answer, I guess I thought there would be some bigger reasoning behind it, but hey it works for me. thanks Jack
  3. Maybe I've missed this somewhere in the past, but is there a reason when the players in the NFL are out in the community they have numbers on their team jerseys but not their names? it hit me yesterday when they showed some of the Chiefs helping with a food drive, and the players had their team jerseys on but no names on the back, I've seen that with the Bills too, but wasn't sure why. Is it some sort of copyright thing with Nike that they can't do it? It just seems odd to me.
  4. For those at the game we need to get a Darryl Talley chant going. That would be awesome
  5. Wow. Just wow. The idiocy of this board is reaching epic proportions.
  6. Saw this on ESPN and found it to be a different perspective on players and dealing with some of the struggles with family and money in the NFL http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/hotread141125/dallas-cowboys-tyron-smith-gets-control-battling-family-money
  7. You are. this is idiotic. just stop. seriously, it's an idiotic idea, no team is going to give up a good proven QB for a LB with 1 good year and then a torn up knee.
  8. Eric, does your wife touch you...... here?
  9. sorry, regardless of the teams involved, when you're the offensive team you don't line up to play possum and end the game and then shoot out after a guys knees. It's a childish bush league move and it doesn't have a place in sports.
  10. Where did I say that? my problem is the LIONS were kneeling down and conceding the game was over. the LIONS were giving up.
  11. Sorry, I completely disagree, you don't attack thinking, well what if they attack? It's a childish idiotic move that he made and there isn't a valid excuse for his actions.
  12. When you're in a formation that shows you aren't running an actual play? By definition sure maybe it's a "legal block", but when there is no attempt by the offense to gain yards it's a cowardly childish action that has no place in the game.
  13. Riola is a Center, and my understanding is the Lions were kneeling out the game, and in that case regardless of the teams or players, if you're lining up in the Victory formation, you don't go after a players knees on the defensive side for any reason.
  14. My only question goes back to his early season arrest. The teams punishment was kept under wraps, so even if the plan wasn't necessarily to go back to NE, what if the plan was to just act a fool to get released, knowing someone would be willing to pick him up? If he knew he was on thin ice (the good old, screw up again and you're outta here thing), and decided to push it, and they said peace, see ya, did Blount really think he'd be out of work long? And it hasn't been brought up if other teams contacted or showed interest in him (maybe I missed that, I could be wrong), but wouldn't he want to go back to where he had success if given the choice? My point is, I'm not sure the *pats were involved in collusion of sorts, but maybe Blount took a calculated risk with his time in Pittsburgh and now it paid off? He knew how to get out of there, and played his cards to end up getting his wish. I can't imagine it would be the first time it's happened in the league
  15. Just curious, how many people defending what he did would still be defending it if it didn't happen against the *pats? How much of an impact on your reaction? And maybe I read it wrong, but I thought the article said the Lions were taking a knee anyway, and if that's the case there is absolutely no reason to target a guys knees because at that point the realistic expectation is that the game is over and that play is just a formality.
  16. Sorry I disagree. They could easily say " the game will not be Sunday at 1, we are working on solutions for when the game can take place but it will not be at 1 on Sunday. Thank you"
  17. The NFL is being irresponsible by not already announcing the game is postponed. There is no realistic reason for them dragging their feet on this.
  18. Polancarz nailed it. If the NFL Is trying to push the game then shame on the NFL. Agree 100%
  19. Thanks for clarifying your statement. Sorry I'm a bit on edge. Been stuck in the house since Tuesday, supplies are running low and there isn't anywhere to go. My apologies.
  20. How exactly are some of us being too dramatic? Not being a jerk but are you sitting in 5 feet of snow? Drifts 8-10 feet? Explain what you mean by this. 8 people have died because of this storm. Is that being too dramatic?
  21. South buffalo on mariemont close to McKinley parkway. Literally about 10 minutes down Abbott from the Ralph.
  22. Thanks everyone. Speaking for my wife and I we're doing ok, patience is wearing thin and food is still holding up well ( so glad my wife coupons). Just getting frustrated knowing we can't go anywhere at all. This will sound nuts but we both would rather be working. We have season tickets and would be bummed if we don't play but there are bigger priorities right now and the health and welfare of everyone impacted this is priority over a game
  23. This game shouldn't be played on Sunday. There are far too many people stranded in their homes, running low on food and water. I love football as much as the next guy, but there are more important things in life. As someone who has been stuck since Tuesday with no real end in sight, this game needs to be postponed. People need real help, not football.
  24. I call uncle. I'm 10 minutes down Abbott from the ralph and I'm throwing in the towel. No plows, nothing. The wife and I are going stir crazy
  25. Dude stop trolling. You're getting ridiculous starting the same thread with the same topic over and over. Polian is a dinosaur in NFL age, he's not your answer. The game is going to younger guys as GMs and coaches. Polian might be good as an advisor, but no way I make him the GM. Whaley was and still is spoken in high regard in the league, and there is no reason to get rid of him.
