Hackett leaving Henderson out to dry
MarkAF43 replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our Offensive coordinator runs more screen passes than anyone I've ever seen (screens should be used as a disruption play to slow down aggressive D, not an every passing down play), failed to adjust for the fact that Mack was abusing Henderson (chip him, keep a TE in etc) and all year long has continued to think he is smarter than other coaches by bucking successful trends to win games. He doesn't seem to ever game plan for a particular opponent, it seems to be the same generic plan rolled out week after week. He doesn't seem to look at the opposing teams strengths and weaknesses, he gets an idea in his head and runs with it. This team has flaws well beyond OC, but just like the overall team starts and ends with the HC, the offense is the responsibility of the OC and Hackett is in wayyyyyy over his head. Nate Hackett please pack your things and go see Jill in human resources. -
The thing that bothers me the most is this is an example of the same old Bills. They had a chance to buck the trend, (you beat GB which no one expected), and to stay alive you have to beat a 2-12 team and you fail. It's why the Bills aren't taken seriously on a national level and they continue to be a fringe middle of the pack team. Good teams beat teams they should beat, and today the Bills showed that they still aren't a good team. We can sit here all day and argue about the QB play (terrible), the O line play (awful), and the D(which wasn't as lights out as it has been), but to me the facts are this. Our head coach is responsible for motivating his players and team and making sure they're prepared to play and they failed miserably. Okay, Time to sell the fans on next year
MarkAF43 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well it's fact. It's not saying the bar is that low, but statistically their record is the best it's been in 10 years I believe. I think that's what he was saying. -
I don't see how it's possible to quit being a fan. Love it or hate it being a Bills fan is in my blood. Not something I can change nor something I'd ever want to.
-
The true fans say get the hell out and don't come back. Peace!!
-
Awww man up. You just want to show how much of a fan you are, but you're quitting. Get the hell out and don't come back if that's how you feel. No need to tell anyone you're leaving. Just go.

I'd walk up and ask, " are you an idiot"? Until someone referenced DC Tom

Deconstructing Marrone: Hackett Not To Blame
MarkAF43 replied to Rivermont Mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is this correct? There is no guarantee Hackett stays. Marrone isn't going to throw Hackett under the bus now, but after the season do you think Marrone is going to be comfortable for another year having to answer questions as to why his offense is so inept? I wouldn't say that Marrone stays= Hackett stays is 100%correct at all. -
referee headsets=way more picked up flags?
MarkAF43 replied to Russ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was going to say something similar, for them having these new headsets they still seem to like to run to each other all game long. -
what are chances Hughes gives Bills hometown discount ??
MarkAF43 replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't recall hearing players say they assume they'll be there. The standard answers are typically, we'll see how things play out, or talk to my agent, or we'll sit down in the offseason and figure it out then, right now we're trying to win football games. To me, hime saying I assume I'll be here isn't a standard or typical response. -

MarkAF43 replied to RCOHEN13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not saying it means much but I saw something either on FB through the Bills mafia group or on twitter of a vine of Jerry being interviewed after the GB game and when asked where he expected to be next year his response was something to the effect of, I assume I'll be here. Not sure if that's the exact quote or if it was even a legit video but if so I found it slightly interesting -
What a Season.....and it ain't over yet!
MarkAF43 replied to Rockinon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
what a great article. It's a little dusty in here. It's the reason I will always be a Bills fan, my future kids will be brought up to be Bills fans, and why I love this community. Life has so many curveballs and crappy moments in it, that it puts in perspective the results of the on field product. This is a family, and damn I wouldn't want to be part of any other family than the one right here in Buffalo. When we do start and continue to contend every year it's going to be so much sweeter because we've been through so much as a team, a community and a family. -
I don't take an issue with the quote. It's typical and mostly true, same thing for a QB. If the offense is playing well, the QB gets the credit. If the offense is bad, the QB gets the blame. the OL falls in the same category to me. It's a nothing quote he made

You got em Ice. Thoughts and prayers sent.

And I completely get that, maybe it's just me maturing more in my thinking (that's a scary thought though), but if he's living with that mindset now, does he truly end up changing his ways, or do we read about him blowing his head off because no one cares about him now that he's out of football?

The other 30 year olds for the most part aren't working in a situation as unique as the NFL. I'm talking about the systems the NFL has to prepare it's players for life after the NFL.
-
this is the line that sends chills down my spine : "So I don't really look toward my life after football because I'll figure things out when I get there and see how I am." To me, that's beyond troubling. I understand wanting to follow your dreams, but that comment in a nutshell is what worries me about players after they retire. To have no clue what to do with your life after a career that averages roughly 6 years or so is a scary thought, and either shows the opinion of just one man or a fail across the systems in place to teach these young kids about life after football.

Cosby scandal--Charged with aggravated assault--Posts Bail
MarkAF43 replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Agreed, but I'm guessing we all might be hard pressed to find anyone who looks at Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable the same as they did prior to all the allegations. -
Should the "Shout" song be played after a FG?
MarkAF43 replied to smuvtalker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like it after everything currently. Once our Offense actually gets better and scores more points and more TD's than FGs then they can stop it after run of the mill FG's -
What a great review from an unbiased outsider. Glad to hear you guys had a good time, not speaking for everyone (not my place), but I'd say you are welcome back anytime!

Locker room speech - KW gave me chills

This is the stuff that makes me a Bills fan. Sometimes it's hard to put into words, but this stuff is why. -
Not a shot at you, but I really doubt that if Mrs.Marrone dropped trou and mooned some people that some news outlet somewhere would've picked up on it by now.
