How could a person know that one call in his chosen career could trigger it? More than likely he didn't and couldn't predict it. every person has triggers that can set off mental illness and there are many people who walk around daily not knowing what those triggers are or when they will surface. I find it quite ridiculous that you accuse the guy of saying this to get a payout or sympathy It's completely ignorant.

So for the people here that aren't happy with the hire. If you were in charge of it, can you honestly say you would've hired one of the offensive minds, just because they're offensive minds? I understand some of the points people are making, but although he doesn't have a winning record ( I know this and am not arguing it), is he really a worse option rather than taking someone who was a decent OC and hasn't been a HC previously?

So basically your response if you were a HC is don't go for the score, play it safe and lets kick the field goal if needed? I don't see the logic in that. I want my guys going for the score, not trying to play it safe

This has to be a plus for any potential FA's. Rex has been known as a coach players like playing for, so I would think this makes us a more attractive destination now.

I for one am glad to see them doing a longer search. I heard this morning interviews are running through to Saturday at this point. I would prefer they take their time and make sure they get the guy they want, and the guy the team needs.
