But...my daughter is so special!
MarkAF43 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
so what has made it worse? I don't have kids yet, but I don't get why we don't have parents stepping up and telling their kid, "look you did good and I'm proud of you, but the people who get trophies and awards were better, worked harder etc". Am I missing something as to why this seems to now become completely acceptable instead of parents standing up and teaching their kids you won't always get a trophy just for playing? -
Your trolling is quite pathetic and weak. It's sad to watch you stumble through an argument about FJ with no supporting facts or proof to back up your ridiculously weak claims and attempts to bad mouth him.

Bills to announce record-breaking season ticket sales

Unfortunately I'll be missing the home opener. The Air Force decided me spending the first two weeks of the season in Mississippi is more important than football. -

I'm not that far, I'm in 126. Only a few sections over from you. -
I actually don't have a problem with him saying that. I would rather hear a guy say that rather than this might be my last year or next year. It's the same mindset to me as someone saying I'm the best. Fine, you're the best, go prove it. You think you can play 3 good years left? Prove it.

Teams restricting what season ticket holders can do
MarkAF43 replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't buy this. He holds a job that can take him away for weeks/months at a time, regardless of who ends up with his tickets unless there is an arrangement in his STH policy that specifically excludes selling to anyone except TB fans, he has every right to sell to whomever the hell he wants and at whatever financial gain he can get. He shouldn't be forced to "give" tickets to his neighbor because someone on SH may be a Chicago fan. It's a ridiculous policy and the team deserves to be called out on it. -
Bills to announce record-breaking season ticket sales

This. I live in South Buffalo and love that I can leave the game and be home within 10-15 minutes. I'll be ok with a downtown stadium but the wife wants it to stay where it is. I keep telling her it won't happen, buttttt she's stubborn about it. -
insert Incognito and take out Manziel. I'm guessing people's take on this has now changed.

Not saying I'm defending JM on this, but if he already responded to the guy, told him no and the guy grabbed him by the arm and then kept harassing him, I find it hard to not expect this reaction from most people. It isn't like he randomly threw the bottle at a fan, the fan continued to egg him on and wouldn't let it go. Could he have handled it differently? Probably, but at the same time he didn't assault the guy, so I don't really have an issue with it.

Bears Cut Ray McDonald after Arrest on DV Charges
MarkAF43 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I said earlier, playing in the NFL isn't a right. He doesn't want to follow a personal conduct policy he loses his chance to play in the NFL. It's not sad to me in the least. He is a representative of the league and the team that offered him a contract. If the team feels he's projecting a negative image, that reflects on the team and they have every right to cut him. Still want to play in the NFL? Get the help you need and stay. Keep making stupid mistakes and this is the cost. -

Sue on what grounds? the NFL is a privilege not a right. Someone will sue because an NFL team doesn't want to be associated with someone who was investigated and charged with a crime? That won't go very far. -
I saw someone mention it earlier, is this still an actual rule, or is it something we as a group are speculating on?

There is no downside to cheating
MarkAF43 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure how I feel as a fan of the team if the Bills were to cheat to win. Personally I don't condone cheating and would never encourage or support it. However as a fan, other than the fact I root for the team, my interest or support is microscopic to the team so would it be worth me getting upset if they did cheat to win? I imagine I'd feel embarrassed to say I was a Bills fan, but at the end of the day I'm not 100% sure mine or any fans opposition to the team cheating means very much. -
Deflate-gate investigation complete
MarkAF43 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I find to be interesting was listening to WGR this morning, Howard and Jeremy both seemed focused on the fact that he won't get suspended because he's Tom Brady without giving mention to the fact that he held this press conference where he stood up and defended his lie. To me, that should be the proverbial nail in the coffin. I don't quite understand how the league will suspend a player for a game or two for "personal conduct", but a guy cheats and is impacting the integrity of the game, lies about it, and more than likely won't be punished closely to what is deserved. Also, WGR was talking about how more than likely the team will be punished. How do you punish the team when the evidence you have points to an individual player? -
I get your point(bolded) and wasn't referring to that. If he doesn't measure up performance wise sure it's time to go. However as you mentioned above with teams like NO, the *pats and the Steelers is the fact they aren't the Bills. The Bills are not a super attractive destination for FA's to come here. Yes we get some, but the high end guys aren't clamoring to come to Buffalo. So the FO needs to take a close look at how they handle FJ because handling it wrong can just further add to the problem down the road of getting players wanting to come to Buffalo. FJ has done everything right for this organization and he deserves the same from the FO. If his talent drops off that much, sure it's time to go. But if he can still help and contribute to this team winning games, then he stays. Loyalty is a two way street. FJ has shown his, the Bills need to do the same with him. I think we're mostly on the same page.
-
Until he slows down until he is not one of the top 3 or 4 backs (depending on how many they keep), he stays. You don't cut a guy, players see that and it impacts their view of their employer. So the whole idea the organization has of getting top talent and loyal players to retire a Bill won't happen because face it, FJ has earned the respect of that locker room, the fan base and the organization. if they cut him just because, then players will see zero loyalty from their team and they won't want to be here/stay here/sign here. It's not overrating, you don't cut a guy unless he is no longer of ANY value to your team. he isn't at that point and he's been a loyal solider his entire Bills career.
-
My point is, if that's the case, if the younger, cheaper talent performs better then yes it's time to let him go. But to just cut him because we want to get younger and cheaper but he can still perform better than that other talent, it's a bad move and it completely goes against the plan to get players to retire as Bills. You think guys like Kyle and Mario aren't watching this to see how it's handled? They made it public that they want guys to retire wearing this uniform. To take the unquestioned leader of this franchise and cut him while he can still perform is something that won't be looked upon in a good light.
-
You don't cut him based on who was drafted/traded for or brought in. You cut him if he isn't beating out his competition. Period.

Is SDS out there rioting in the streets?

Someone will file a lawsuit saying the police aren't protecting them and keeping the streets safe. -
Sabres on NBC-NBCSN 5 Times Next Season

I read something prior to the draft that said he had a previous family commitment to attend, but I don't recall where I saw it.
