Is it possible that Greer's agent told the Bills that his client was going to get a deal better than what we were offering, and now the bIlls can use the money they might have spent to re-sign Greer on giving money to Peters and signing Coles?
I know it wasn't a lot of money, but he shouldn't even be on our team.
per rotoworld:
Profootballtalk.com reports that the Bills have signed free agent CB Drayton Florence to a two-year contract.
This will throw a wrench into San Diego's Antonio Cromartie trade plan. Florence was a huge bust in Jacksonville last year, losing his starting job to Brian Williams. The Bills, if they're smart, will not be starting Florence.
FUnny how rotoworld notes that Cato is coming in for a visit and refers to him as having experience in the Tampa 2 defense, a defense that the Bills are "hanging on to"
I am starting to get a little worried that we might take a CB AT #11. Hear my logic on this one. There have been rumors that WHitner will move to FS making SS a priority. Guys like Phillips and Sean Jones are out there, but haven't been linked to the Bills, neither has any other safety for that matter. At the combine Modrak was quoted as saying they take pedrigree and school into consideration and he went out of his way to mention Ohio State. At the combine Jenkins' numbers were slower than thought and now many draft "experts" view him as a safety at the next level. Could we draft him? I hope not, but now I don't know it's so far fetched unless we sign someone
It's unfortunate, but we need to overpay a little for guys in order for them to come to us. WIth the amount of money we have under the cap, I am fine with it.
I would hardly call Braylon a bust either. He is 2 years removed from a 1200+ yard and 16 TD season. Last year he had a case of the drops and still had over 800 yards receiving. Not a great year last year, but not a bust. He also had over 800 yards receiving in his second year. If any of our second year players do that, I'll be thrilled
I like Steve Johnson just as much as the next guy, but I don't see the obsession that some people on this board have for him. He seems like a nice player, but in his 2nd year, after barely playing in his rookie season, I don't want to pencil him in as our #2. It just doesn't make sense
I thought that too. I'm not sure if he gained it during the course of the year, which could be possible, or in a short time before the combine. If it was before the combine then I would say a lot of it was most likely water weight, which can be gained easily
I have to say, I'm annoying myself right now. SOmetimes I write posts begging the Bills to bring Coles in, then I read other posters talk about how we have Reed and he can do the same things and we don't want to play, and then others that say we should get Holt. I honestly think my opinion changes about every 5 minutes. I just want something to get done, I'm driving myself crazy. Same goes for who we should draft too
I understand that, but it's possible that he and his agent don't see it that way. I know they don't want to overpay, and I know he's not a stud anymore, but I think he's exactly the kind of WR we need as a #2
