  1. does he have "Da Town" written in sharpie on his chest?
  2. I probably should have left out the mock draft part. I've seen mocks having us take a range of about 15 different players. Just shows that people are taking into account that Peters could be traded
  3. That is exactly what I want them to do, I just worry that they won't
  4. that's what I meant. We would definitely have to re-sign him. I'm not sure what it would take, but if it takes a decent amount I fear that we won't be able to give Peters what he wants, which most of you don't want to do anyway, but I certainly would like to pay the man
  5. I wouldn't mind paying him that type of money. It's not easy to find a franchise LT in the draft some work i.e. Ryan Clady, Joe Thomas, and some don't i.e. Mike Williams, Gallery. With next year being uncapped, LT's could easily make much more money, and Peters contract might eventually be in the top third as opposed to the top player. Long got that deal because he was the 1st pick, so I personally consider Gross more accurate of what he should be paid (not sure if he or his agent do however) I say give him a 10.5 a year and see what he says
  6. I'll try and explain. If we trade for Sheffler, he will be in the last year of his contract, and I don't think he will be all that cheap. We don't dole out loads of huge contracts, so I think it's a possibility that losing picks in that trade, we gain some back with Peters. I don't think they would extend them both. Maybe it's a stretch. I'm hoping that if they trade for Sheffler than we can keep them both. I just put it out there as a possibility. I really got bashed on this.
  7. I don't want this to happen, but even in a new mock it has us taking Michael Oher. A LT. This might be possible now. If we trade for Sheffler, then I think we might trade Peters. There are a bunch of good pass catching TE's in the draft, but if we trade for him then it won't be a need in the second round, meaning we could take a LT first and then a DE second. I hope this doesn't happen, but it's possible
  8. 6 beers deep and 3 shots of Jameson now. Going to bed in a bit, and going bananas tomorrow
  9. People are talking about us getting 2 1's from Philly. But signing those 1's and ours, or even our 1 and another 1 in a possible trade, costs more than it will to keep him, AND trading him on;y opens up another hole. Like I said before, you don't get Owens and then go out and trade your 27 year old franchise LT. He has all the leverage
  10. that makes me feel a little better about maybin if we take him. everyone has been trashing the weight he put on and how he was sluggish, but that 10 yard split is all the burst he needs to disrupt the backfield
  11. I don't think he's coming back but I wouldn't mind it at all. Per rotoworld's latest note, he is talking numbers with the Bucs. I think he'll sign there
  12. It seems as if there's a bit of desperation coming from the front office. A bit more pressure to win or at least keep the fans relatively happy. We signed TO, it would be pretty dumb to make our offense significantly worse by getting rid of a franchise left tackle. Plus, I was under the impression that the popular thinking in the NFL is that LT is the most important position on the field after QB. Why wouldn't we lock him up for life? I'd rather keep Peters and cut Lee Evans or someone else. Peters is key.
  13. I admit he is very very impressive numbers wise, but there seems to be a consensus that not only does he take plays off, but that he lacks the passion to play. On the NFL network Gruden said Johnson is a clone of Peppers. I don't know what to think of him. He could be amazing, but I don't want to take a guy with too many question marks at DE
  14. forget that last post. I thought it said Alabama
  15. Would they be looking at Smith?
  16. I'd be really pissed if they did that. Could this mean that the contract talks aren't going well? If we trade him then we need another lineman, and a damn good one at that. It would be ridiculous if we did. Is this just speculation on his part?
  17. I agree. it would be a smart move. I think they should do it sooner rather than later
  18. I remember Trent wanted to get the ball rolling early last off-season with the changing of the guard at the QB position and decided to meet Lee Evans down in Florida to work on timing and routes. Do any of you think he might make the same decision to go down to Miami and work with T.O., and since Lee was there last year, maybe work with them both?
  19. you can say what you want about T.O. but he has never had a bad work ethic. If he leaves after a year, which I think he will, the biggest gain will be for our other younr wr's. He can show them a great work ethic, running routes, etc. I think this is a great move!!
  20. Pettigrew or a DE and I'll be happy
  21. Part of me thinks we take Pettigrew, and get the best TE possible and have a SICK offense. Anoher part thinks that since we have Owens we definitely go DE. Thoughts?
  22. anyone have a link to the press conference
  23. Here are some highlights. This dude can catch. They do, however, talk about injuries even in the highlights
