I'm trying. I just worry that if he doesn't get enough time actually practicing with the team, that he will be lost and his rookie year will be a wash

The Hall of Fame game is this weekend. And if Crabtree doesn't sign fairly soon then Maybin will have missed almost all of camp. It doesn't matter how quick his first step is, if he doesn't practice he won't be in many games at all for us this season. THIS SUCKS!!!

LenDale White's Weight-loss secret
BeastMode54 replied to Bmwolf21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As disturbing as that might sound, I think I'd lose around the same amount of weight if I cut out alcohol too -
Demetrius Bell makes impact on writer.....
BeastMode54 replied to Bash_Gash's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope Bell plays well and turns into a stud LT. I also hope that Maybin turns into a good player because this hurts a little: As expected, rookie Michael Oher was immediately installed as the starting right tackle at Ravens training camp. Usually rookies have to "earn" these jobs, especially when there are experienced alternatives on the team like Adam Terry. But Oher proved he's ready by pancaking Terrell Suggs on day one. Knocked by draftniks for being too reserved, Oher has shown an "aggressive and physical temperament."(rotoworld). I kinda wanted to draft him at our slot -
Lynch has made some mistakes in his life, and those mistakes have been BIG ones that have affected the team and the fans. But as far as him being a bad person, someone of the same ilk as Brandon Marshall or Pacman Jones, its not even close. Marshawn seems like a great guy who made some bad decisions. I hope he's learned from his mistakes.

Nothing new to report unfortunately. It looks as if we might have to wait for Crabtree to sign, or at least for Moreno to sign. Sucks. Maybin NEEDS to be in camp
-
Once he signs we can get Maybin in. Would Eugene Parker stop screwing us already!

I'm as sick of Brett Favre as everyone else, but last year before the season, many on this board wanted him to come to our team. In this article (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/07/29/favre/index.html?eref=si_writers) Favre tells Peter King he thinks he's going to stay retired but if someone calls November 1st, then who knows. If Trent stays healthy, and I'm hoping he does, then this isn't an issue at all. But, if for some reason, he goes down to injury, I'd think Favre would be better than Fitzpatrick. Favre played very well at the beginning of the season for the Jets but wore down significantly as the season wore on. If he came in and only played half of the games I think he would be a definite upgrade over Fitzpatrick. I'd like to repeat over again though, that I really like Trent and hope he doesn't go down, I just don't think that Fitz is a very good backup

sounds like music to my ears The Bills conducted Tuesday's training camp practice exclusively out of the no-huddle offense. Clearly, this is going to be a staple of Buffalo's attack. The up-tempo scheme will encourage Trent Edwards to be more aggressive after playing very conservatively in his first two seasons. Only time will tell how he responds.

This is going to be a stupid question, but here goes...can a player practice if he's not signed and hope a deal works out in time?

per the article above Another competition of note is strong-side linebacker. The Bills said they're fine with starter Keith Ellison, but that's hardly a ringing endorsement after they sought his replacement in the offseason. They hotly pursued St. Louis Rams free agent Piso Tinoisamoa, who signed with the Chicago Bears. The Bills haven't ruled out the possibility of looking at other strong-side options if they become available. "Keith has the spot right now," Fewell said. "There is some competition here. But we're always looking to get better. If something happens we'll try to upgrade and get better."

http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/738494.html In this article it states that the Bills were heavily pursuing Pisa and that Eillison will not be handed the starting spot. Nic Harris and Bowen have decent shot at supplanting him, and I'd give Bowen the slight edge. I like Ellison as a backup but not a starter. If there's someone out there at OLB I think we should bring him in too for competition. I like Brooks, but he's old and not sure he has anything left. At least this makes me think the coaching staff agree with what we are thinking here as well, which is Ellison is not really a starter

this is getting ridiculous. When do we find out if the suspension is 100% gonna be 3, 2, or 1 games???

Training camp: Brand new O-line v. Bills soft 4-3
BeastMode54 replied to Billistic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
doesn't the practice squad lineup as different teams opposing defense? I know that when they practice, that it's not merely against the 4-3 defense -
weird... mortreportI knew I could smell body odor. In car alone now - guess it was me! (I know, too much info).5 minutes ago from txt

I think we should take a shot on one of these guys and bring them into camp as depth. they are solid veterans and provide great depth and competition at our weak tackle positions
-
hahah, yea that's what happened to me for sure
-
yea, it's definitely a strange one
-
his tweet read "thinks its 30 days until the Buffalo Bills report to camp". Is that some knock on them I'm not getting or is he on;y stating fact?

Duff's is awesome. And Gabriels Gate runs a close second IMO

Michael Johnson very impressive
BeastMode54 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never made this post to say we shouldn't have drafted Maybin. I was just curious as to why Johnson wouldn't have let teams know about the injury. To do as well as he did at the combine AND have a sports hernia is pretty impressive. I thought it could only have helped him. I could be wrong -
No word on the appeal. But then if he gets more time, shouldn't Jackson see some more as well if he's gonna start?
