The final nail for Adarius Bowman' draft stock.
Got_Wood replied to Brandon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cool, let's draft him in the 6th or 7th round then. We can always have Jason Peters and Marcus Stroud haze the hell out of him. That would scare anyone from making a mistake again. -
Why are we high on Ko Simpson?
Got_Wood replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy is an athlete. Period. He started from the moment he walked on the field as a freshman in college. He was a ball hawk, can lay the big hit, and was well known throughout the country. PLUS, he just snapped his leg in half last season. How can you not root for the guy? I'm pumped for this defense. Poz, Ko, Stroud, Johnson, Mitchell, James... all basically new additions. It's going to be exciting. -
The only way Dallas makes that trade is if we package our 2nd picks as well. Our #11 and #41 picks for Dallas' #22, #28, and #61. That is 1740 points for us and 1732 for Dallas on the draft value chart. Or our #11 and #72 for their #22 and #28. And I would still make this trade. It works for both teams and what they're looking for in the draft.

Likely round 2 WR picks: - Devin Thomas, MSU (maybe) - Jordy Nelson, K-State - Mario Manningham, U-Mich - Early Doucet, LSU - Andre Caldwell, Flo Personally, I really like Thomas and Nelson. Not a huge fan of the others. I really hope we can trade down in the first and have our choice of all of the top WR's. I think we need to snag a guy later as well. Someone like DJ Hall, Adrian Arrington, Marcus Monk, Adarius Bowman, or Mario Urrutia.

... ok. That's kinda true. The character concerns were minimal. Marshawn was a no-brainer pick for us though. I stopped listening to the media a long time ago. Johnson could be one of those experimental picks for us that could play special teams and WR right away. The guy is just a flat-out athlete.
-
Easy guy, those are fightin words...
-
- Just to add to that. This guy is a pure athlete that could possibly be converted to receiver. He is 6' 3", 213 lbs, and runs a 4.47 40 yd dash. - Worth a shot later in the draft.
-
Honestly, wouldn't mind grabbing this kid in round 4. I know he played lower level competition, but his numbers are outstanding. JP will likely be gine, and this guy could be a decent backup option. And he's Marshawn's cousin! Check out the numbers... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=166992

That's a good question. I don't know. But it sure says a lot about dropped passes. He could be a huge steal in the 3rd to 4th round. But something tells me he won't last that long.

ESPN Polling to see who the Bills Should pick at 11
Got_Wood replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Over 28,000 votes so far. Not bad. Pretty interesting to look at the votes by state also. -
You really think moving up 6 spots is worth our 11th pick, Losman and two 3rd rounders??? Nah. Maybe one future 3rd. Not two. The 11th pick is still very high, and KC would get potentially a starting QB and Offensive Tackle out of this trade. And that doesn't include the additional 3rd or 4th rounder we throw in. I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas out there. I actually like Kelsay also. He made some huge plays for us last season. I just think that we need a big nasty guy like Gholston to put fear into opposing QB's. Kelsay is very similar to Schobel, only doesn't get to the quarterback as much.
-
3 things stood out to me most in this video: 1. Lee Evans is nasty. He is a younger version of Torrey Holt. We HAVE TO resign him immediately. 2. Roscoe needs to be used in the offense more often. The guy is dangerous. 3. The throwbacks should be our uni's this year. Just use the red helmet with them. Seriously, those things are bada$$.
-
Good to hear. I would like to see us try and get Haggan back as well.
-
I would also add... - Re-sign Lee Evans to a 5 year $25 mil deal with incentives in there to earn up to $7 mil per year - Feed Trent Edwards protein shakes 3 times daily to make sure he is healthy and injury free in '08

This is my off the wall idea of the day. This could only happen in a perfect world... Bills send #11 pick, JP Losman, and our 2009 4th rounder to Kansas City for the Chiefs #5 pick. Trade Chris Kelsay to Philadelphia for Lito Sheppard. Buffalo Draft: 1. Vernon Gholston, DE 2. Devin Thomas, WR 3. Dustin Keller, TE 4. Owen Shmidtt, FB 5. Jamey Richard, C I would love to steal Gholston right from out in front of the Jets. And then pigs will fly...

I think we have some decent veterans in Royal and Anderson. It's time for a young stud rookie to come in and shake things up. Relax my friend, the offseason is far from over.
-
Patience fellas, the offseason is still young...

He was the 4th QB selected though, and it was kind of out of desperation to fill the position. To put this into the proper perspective, here are the 4th QB's picked in the last 3 drafts: 2007 - John Beck 2006 - Kellen Clemens 2005 - Charlie Frye Not the best options. These were not the top choices of anyone in the league. Get my point? Those type of guys were Brady Quinn, Jemarcus Russell, Vince Young, and Jay Cutler. Anyway, I get that there are people who like JP. It just doesn't make sense that people want to "circle the wagons" again with him. I'm ready to move on, and I aint ridin' the bandwagon.
-
I give up. I'm too "stupid" to continue this conversation. Apparently people have become extremely close to JP over the years and will protect him at all costs. I admire the guy for what he's done in the city of Buffalo, I like him a lot, and he's a pretty good football player overall. I wish him the best in his life and career. ... just not here.
-
Maybe you can enlighten me with all of JP's achievements you supposedly heard of in college. From what I know about him, he sat on the bench behind SUPERSTAR Patrick Ramsey for two years. And I already heard about his incredible win at the Hawaii Bowl against Hawaii, and then followed that up with a huge 5-7 season the next year as starter. Maybe there is more I didn't hear about???
-
First of all, you're not comparing apples to apples here BuffaloBob. Eli clearly has done far better in his 4 years as a QB in this league. Take a look at the numbers: Eli: 11,385 yds passing JP: 5,627 yds passing Eli: 199.7 yds per game JP: 152.1 yds per game Eli: 77 TD's JP: 31 TD's JP takes too many sacks, he's too indecisive, he makes tons of mistakes, he fumbles the ball twice as much as any other QB, he can't sustain drives, and he's FLAT OUT frustrating to watch. The coaches can't give him another chance on this team, and they won't if they care about winning.
-
We would be moving down SIX spots. Not the bottom of the first. The value of those picks isn't much different, AND we would be getting a second. Look at the details before you make a ridiculous judgement. MAYBE I would take the 5th out of this deal. But I would do it just to make it work. Seriously, an additional 2nd round pick would be HUGE for us. And this is a very realistic way to get it. Also, I think a lot of people are really overvaluing JP. There is no love for JP in this league right now. There are few teams out there that see any potential in him being successful. We take what we can get for him, or we keep him.
