  1. I'll add that getting Poz, Whitner, Scott, and Bell back will be really nice also. Won't fix our problem, but it'll be nice.
  2. Temporary fix to see if it generates a spark. Nothing more than that. I agree completely, the next draft is looking like the answer for us.
  3. It's obviously not an out of the box thought. But the most painful spot on this team right now is the QB position. We're not getting it done there right now. Whether it's Kelly or some other QB coach, we need someone to help. Thanks for the feedback though buddy.
  4. I'm not sure firing Jauron at this moment is the best way to change things right now (don't get me wrong, I really hate the guy). Here are 2 things we could do to maybe make this season more interesting: - Bring in someone like Jim Kelly to coach Edwards and help him make better decisions on the field. - Make a big trade or signing. I see several QB's that may be able to help out there. Some of these guys could be available in a trade?... Kevin Kolb, Dante Culpepper, Jordan Palmer, Jon Kitna, Sage Rosenfels, Vince Young, Billy Volek, Chris Redman, and Matt Leinart. While some may be unrealistic, it's worth trying right now.
  5. I disagree. I think it just seems that way because of the way we've played so far this year. We have a lot of talent on this team. I would say that the only places we truly need change at are Offensive Tackle (maybe both tackles) and Outside Linebacker. I would really like to see us get a bigger, stronger, run stopping Defensive End as well. If you watched the Steelers vs. Chargers game last night, you would notice that Ben Roethlisberger had an hour to throw the ball. That is HUGE when you talk about having a successful offense. In the end, I really think that this could be a much better team with a different head coach and different system in place.
  6. I actually agree that this really isn't a true no-huddle offense anyways. Trent still has to scream the play to guys at the line of scrimmage while they're lined up in formation. It's kind of moronic really. On top of that, they take long enough for the defense to make substitutions and nearly run to the end of the play clock every play. A true "no-huddle" offense uses more hand signals and the QB can get the ball snapped a lot quicker.
  7. It's for his family. Not a conspiracy theorist, but I am a realist.
  8. 1. It's d-day. Ralph is now at the point in his life where he needs to make a decision. He's not counting years, he's counting days. 2. Doesn't have to be Toronto. But I believe they could make that happen. LA isn't out of the realm of possibility either. 3. Yes Toronto can't sell out a game. BUT, if the team becomes THEIR team and they change the uniforms and logo to THEIR city... they will support the team. Right now they're expected to cheer for an old beat up product that they can't even call their own.
  9. Makes things easier for him though. Just imagine if the Bills were a public company for instance. Sales are down, investor confidence is rock bottom, the product looks terrible, your President (head coach) isn't forecasting a profitable future (wins) nor is he making moves to get the company (team) in the right direction. What would a company do? They would remove the president (head coach), and bring in somone with a history of success(Shannahan/Gruden/Holmgren/Cowher). Assemble a younger more motivated staff (offensive and defensive coordinator) that have some recent industry experience (have had coordinator positions before and/or have worked with winning programs as position coaches). A new philosophy and a new direction is exactly what this company needs. Guess what, they (Ralph and crew) are not doing what any ordinary company would do. They're riding this out, loss after loss. Pretty soon, there won't be any more customers left to buy this awful product.
  10. I can't think of another reason why Ralph would stick with this staff of bumbling idiots. Jauron and his make-shift group of coaches are down right embarrassing. The only possible reason to keep this staff in place and ride out the season is to alienate the fans of Buffalo from this team enough for us to be "OK" with a move to Toronto (or some other market). Because that is exactly what they're doing. If we despise this team and it's losing record once again, maybe just maybe this city will be fine with them being shipped out of town. If that's the case... well that's just sad.
  11. Thought it was going to be Jenkins. Or was that for someone else?
  12. I'm reading rumors that he'll actually play a lot at safety this week. He's been practicing there the last couple days I guess.
  13. It's starting to look like: FS: Byrd SS: Harris (or is it Wilson?) LCB: McGee RCB: Florence The safety spot is scary. The corners don't scare me at all. Actually I think Florence is a better corner than McKelvin.
  14. I agree that they weren't good. But isn't it funny how every announcer for Bills games gets frustrated while analyzing the game? It's like they want to tell Jauron what to do. Just like the fans want to throw objects at their televisions watching him make lame duck decisions over and over again. This is painful for everyone to watch. Not just fans.
  15. Talent isn't the problem anymore. Marshawn, Freddy, TO, and Evans are arguably the best WR and RB combination in the league. Give another coach these guys, and you've got a Superbowl contender.
  16. Ok then, here is a quote from Mike Tomlin following their recent loss to the Bengals. This is a 1-2 team just like us: "We have to accept responsibility for our actions. We need to get back in the lab, turn over every stone possible to find a winning formula to get in this locker room and make us victorious. That’s the reality of it. We won’t run away from that. We will acknowledge that, and we accept responsibility for our actions.”
  17. Exactly. It seems like we're always "learning" about our last loss. Always an ecxuse. Guess what, this team isn't so "young" anymore. They shouldn't be learning from better opponents. They should be good enough to BEAT their opponents.
  18. I'd take Vick in a heartbeat.
  19. This is the only time you hear the coaches voice. What else do we have to go on? If this is the kind of halftime speech demeanor we can expect from our coach, it's upsetting. You wonder why we can't finish out games. Everyone is just depressed by the end because of an uninspiring coach.
  20. Dick Jauron: "Obviously there's going to be some growing pains there and they will just keep getting better, but they're going to struggle," coach Dick Jauron said. "They're going to struggle and they're going to learn every week, but they'll come back and fight you. It wasn't pretty. I was proud of the way they fought through kind of an ugly game but hung in there until the end." Here's a quote from Rex Ryan in comparison: "It is a long season," Ryan said. "We're placing a huge importance on the game. Sanchez said it's a 'must game,' I saw. You know what's great, that's how I feel. Every game is a must game. Baseball is a 162-game schedule, that would be a 10-game losing streak if you lost one game in the NFL. So that's how big it really is." Here's a quote from Mike Singletary after their loss to the Vikings: “I can’t really remember what my tone was last year. All I know is right now, when I look at the situation we had yesterday, we go on the road, we play a team, we lose, you come back, you’ve got a choice to make, do you dwell on that - ‘Wow, I wish we would have won the game. Man, I wish we would have done this differently. Man, I wish we would have done that differently.’ No. I think you take it. You’re man enough take it. You chew it. You spit it out. You learn from it and you get ready for the next game. You get ready for the next opportunity. I think winners let it go. Winners move forward. I think losers sit there and just wallow in it and talk about it all week. And, it screws you up for the next opportunity going forward. So, I think our focus has to be on the opportunity at hand. I’m very excited about the opportunity that we have this week in the team coming in." THOSE are the guys I want leading my team. Not some whiny, "they're going to struggle" or "there's going to be some growing pains" BS! We need a guy in here to motivate and discipline our players, and outcoach the opponent. No more excuses.
  21. There will be no "I told you so's". I don't like Losman. But I don't like our front office and coaching staff more. I don't think JP has what it takes to be an NFL player, but I also don't think he had very good coaches around him to become a better player. Fassel didn't find a gig, but guys like Shannahan, Holmgren, Gruden, Schottenheimer, and Cowher are all watching games this year too (some by choice). Sometimes guys just love the game enough to coach anywhere. I'd take him over Jauron in a heartbeat.
  22. It will be interesting to see how he plays without the training wheels on, and a decent coach like Fassel.
  23. Nah, if you watch the replay in slow motion he turns his head around just before the ball gets there and didn't have time to react. That wasn't a bad throw, but once again the timing was off between Edwards and TO.
  24. I agree. In the words of Brett Favre, "Stay alive." (sorry for the Favre reference)
  25. We seriously need one of the fans to bring a video camera and just tape the receivers out there. I don't have a good camera or else I would. Who's on it?!
