  1. I'm telling you right now, Whitner was a huge problem on BOTH long runs by Thomas Jones. He over pursued (as I've seen him do MANY times) and flew right past Jones, instead of holding contain and stepping in the runners way. The other issue was Ellison shooting the wrong gaps. This is another problem when trying to contain the run. You don't always need to lay a big hit to stop the run. Just be where you're supposed to be. If you get run over but end up making the tackle, you've done your job. Someone is teaching these guys to sprint to the line of scrimmage and not hold contain. My solution for the short term is to replace Ellison with Harris, and Whitner with Wilson. I don't know if they can get the job done, but Whitner and Ellison need to see the bench.
  2. Byrd and Wilson should be the starting tandem. They produce faar better results back there.
  3. He needs to stay to secure our mediocre record for the year. I think it's still pretty clear that a new GM, Head Coach, and QB need to come to Buffalo at the end of the season.
  4. It's really riveting stuff. They must have a team of geniuses watching film all week to prepare for our next game of offensive magic.
  5. The Jets are stacking the box daring us to pass deep, and we continue to run up the gut and throw short routes right into the strength of their defense. Great stuff, keep it up guys.
  6. I'm starting to believe this more and more. The game has changed, and we need to change with it. I can't wait to see the day our team has a 300 yard passing game, just for the entertainment of it. I get bored watching these guys more often than not.
  7. This is obviously a stat that has been plaguing this team for a pretty long time now. Many analysts, coaches, and players believe that in order to win in this league, you need to be able to establish the pass first. Not the traditional "establish the run" first. So far teams that have passed for 300+ yards this season have a 23-8 record. Looks like we need to figure this out if we want to start winning... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/12367682
  8. I like that Poz is dependable to smack guys in the mouth. But I wonder if he's really ready to go, or just eager to get back on the field. I don't think that this team needs much overhauling. I think if Harris and Maybin pan out by next season, we're just a DT away from having a solid defense. Unfortunately, we need a QB and an OT (or two) on offense.
  9. Well I can't remember who said it earlier this season, but... "The Bills are tough to play, but easy to beat." That basically tells me that they have a bunch of talented guys, but no plan to beat their opponents. Like I said, I like who is playing on our defense this weekend. But more because we're evaluating the talent we have, and not because I think we're going to beat the Jets.
  10. Well, I would say that it depends on who it is. Currently Jauron has been given a lot of the GM decisions for the last couple years. Unfortunately, that resulted in him dismantling our offensive line completely, firing our offensive coordinator just before the season started, drafting a defensive end "project" with a high 1st round pick, prematurely placing players on IR when they may have time left at the end of the season to play, not replacing Ellison at LB, and overdrafting the hell out of DB's. All the while, Russ Brandon hasn't made any football decisions at all. Bring in someone like Cowher or Shannahan, and I would trust them more with the keys to the organization. However, I think the ideal situation would be to bring in an up and coming personnel guy from a proven organization, and a coach like gruden, Cowher, Holmgren, or Shannahan.
  11. I like the linebacker trio of Harris, Poz, Palmer much better than Corto, Ellison, Palmer. and I also like Byrd and Whitner better than Byrd and Wilson. Looking forward to seeing this group take the field against the Jets.
  12. Awesome. I think we blow Cincy out of the water in terms of fans nationwide. And on top of that, I think we've got a lot of marketable guys on this team. TO (obviously), Marshawn (if he stays out of trouble), Freddy (great story), Stroud (huge and great personality), Whitner (talks a lot), Poz (beast), Steve Johnson (nice rhymes, wish he could see the field more), Kyle Williams (big country), Eric Wood (big clown). How do we promote the Bills for the show? We need that kid who generated the funds to put up the Fire Jauron billboard to get this promotion going.
  13. I wonder if a team has ever fielded 4 out 5 starting lineman that are first year players (Bell saw the field for the first time this year). The front office is full of clowns.
  14. My issue with Buddy is that it seems like a short term fix. We need a long term solution that is well thought out. No more guys that we hire from within. Nix is 70 years old, and won't be around here long. We need a younger football mind. Someone who has plenty of experience in the league, but is a creative, modern thinking manager. Someone who has either coached a long time in the league, or someone who has worked their way up through the ranks in player personnel positions within NFL teams.
  15. Are you saying you don't like my Buffalo Fairys helmet design?
  16. No doubt about it. That's why I said it would be really interesting to showcase our new coaching staff and QB. The show starts in training camp 2010.
  17. That's why they need to be a part of the show. It's not like Cincinnati ("The Nasty") has a huge fan base. Like I said, it puts you on the map. I think a lot of people were surprised when they saw TO in Buffalo on his reality show. More people need to be exposed to the city of Buffalo and its team. It can be nothing but positive for us.
  18. We also have Lankster on board. Young, but still talented.
  19. This show could actually do wonders for this team. I know it sounds kind of stupid, but think about the benefits... - National exposure. NFL fans nationwide will get to know these guys. Get us back on the map without having to do some publicity stunt like signing TO. - Let us see our coaches and management behind closed doors. The Bengals turned out to be less screwed up than everyone thought they would be. I have a feeling the Bills are just as screwed up as we think they are. - Confidence booster. Let this team know that they are in fact part of the National Football League, and they are on the same level as every other team out there. - Could potentially chronicle the turn around of a franchise. We could be looking at a whole new coaching staff and a new QB next year. Would make for great TV. Can we campaign for this somehow?
  20. Chris Draft... another Stanford guy. Ugh.
  21. The Lions have a really good starting trio of Peterson, Foote, and Sims. While Sims has been injured, Levy has stepped in and done an excellent job in his place. Levy is returning to the bench soon when Sims returns from a shoulder injury. So far, the Lions have benched both starting corners this season. And they're still looking for answers there as they are 6th to last in pass yards allowed this season thus far. We've got quite a CB's on our roster right now even with McKelvin being out for the year. I say we offer either YouBoty or Florence for Levy. You think Jauron will let go of one of his precious DB's?
  22. I see he was also an offensive quality control coach under Gruden in Tampa Bay as well... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Shanahan
  23. That would be a great combination. Mike's resume speaks for itself, but Kyle appears to be a great up and comer. At a very young age he has already established himself as an excellent Offensive Coordinator for the Houston Texans. That offense has really produced solid numbers since he's taken over. Obviously our offense is in dire need of a jolt, and this could be our answer. And it potentially leaves open the possibility of a successor to the elder Shannahan when he is ready to retire. Just an idea, but I think this is a really attractive scenario.
