Strange & Disturbing Dick Jauron Trend
Got_Wood replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said, whether it's bad decision making or just BAD LUCK, please get the curse away from us. We don't need anyone with that history coaching this team anymore. -
Former Tampa GM Bruce Allen linked to Bills

Vince had one good year in college, and iced his draft status by beating USC. And I would still take him on this team today. I'd take Vick's talent too, just not his character. And I don't know who ever said any of those things about Cade McNown. Flutie was great to watch on this team. I'd take him back at age 30 any day. Tebow has proven year after year that he's a winner. He's going to be a great QB in this league. -

Thank you. At least someone has some sanity. I'm so tired of the "experts" analyzing these draft prospects and making ridiculous claims about a player's worth. Tim Tebow is everything we need as a quarterback and MORE. He's TOUGH as nails, he's a LEADER, he has supreme CONFIDENCE, he IMPROVES himself every year, he has a BIG ARM, and he is a PROVEN WINNER. If you don't think this guy should be a Buffalo Bill next year, I think you're crazy. -
Here is a look at starting QB's in each year of Dick Jauron as head coach: 1999: Shane Matthews - games started: 7 Cade McNown - games started: 6 Jim Miller - games started: 3 2000: Shane Matthews - games started: 5 Cade McNown - games started: 9 Jim Miller - games started: 2 2001: Jim Miller - games started: 13 Shane Matthews - games started: 3 2002: Jim Miller - games started: 8 Chris Chandler - games started: 7 Henry Burris - games started: 1 2003: Kordell Stewart - games started: 7 Chris Chandler - games started: 6 Rex Grossman - games started: 3 2005: Joey Harrington - games started: 11 Jeff Garcia - games started: 5 2006: JP Losman - games started: 16 2007: Trent Edwards - games started: 9 JP Losman - games started: 7 2008: Trent Edwards - games started: 14 JP Losman - games started: 2 2009: Trent Edwards - games started: 6 Ryan Fitzpatrick - games started: 1 (soon to be) There is something very wrong with that picture. In all the years Jauron has coached, he has had a starting QB play through a whole season as starter only ONCE. And that is probably because of an executive order by Ralph in his first year coaching here. I'm thinking a couple things about this pattern. First, I don't think he knows how to develop a QB. You can't possibly flip flop through QB's like that and not be doing something wrong. Second, I think he is very indecisive. He's indecisive on and off the field. The argument here would be that he couldn't have prevented the injuries to Losman and Edwards. And he didn't draft these guys. I'm not buying that these are his excuses 100%. There is something very wrong with this background as a coach. And whether it's bad decisions or just plain bad luck, I would really like to move on from this nightmare.

Getting rid of Jauron using a Billboard is wrong
Got_Wood replied to hamtenp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah, this is Jauron's team now. He made the decision to completely redo the entire o-line in one offseason. He decided to fire Schonert right before the season started, leaving less coaches on the sideline (no QB coach). He decided to cut Langston Walker before the season started. And he decided to keep our linebacking unit intact, bringing in only a late round draft pick as a replacement. I think Jauron deserves A LOT of the blame here. -

Are you saying they want TWO teams? I don't think they deserve that opportunity at this point. -

Unfortunately we've got a young and hungry guy in Russ Brandon who isn't allowed to make any decisions that effect the football side of this team, and Ralph is himself too old to manage that facet of the team. So the football decisions have been Jauron's lately. Which haven't been very good decisions. But, in the end you're right. Ralph allowed the organization to be run like this. He needs to take the blame here. But I'm pretty sure that is what the billboard said, "Time to clean house Ralph". -

You're on to something here. I'll add to it... - LA gets the Rams uniforms back and a new franchise - St. Louis becomes the Cardinals once again (pre-1988 team) - The Cardinals (of Arizona) become the Arizona Cacti - Toronto becomes part of the NFL and gets its OWN team, the Toronto Cosmos. The Bills then have a close rivalry, and the NFL gets to go "international" like they've always wanted to do. Problem solved!!! -
Rams LB Will Witherspoon traded to Eagles
Got_Wood replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think one of the measures of a good team is recognizing your weaknesses, and being resourceful enough to come up with solutions for them. So far, we have gone about this all wrong. The o-line is a prime example. The front office strategy to make our line better was a pretty big failure. These guys are coming around, but there was no reason to dismantle the line entirely from last year. This caused many of our other areas of need to suffer as well. -

Not sure, but here it is... http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/10247...-LB-Witherspoon -
... for WR Brandon Gibson (who?) and a 5th round pick. I'm thinking we could have made this trade with Roscoe and a 5th easily. Ouch that hurts. via Adam Schefter.

I think the point of this really is that a city (Los Angeles) had a team of their own (the Rams) for nearly 50 years. This team was taken from them, logo and colors and all, and people were bitter. From what I know, the Rams have never really been accepted by the fans in St. Louis. They had a great team initially with Warner, Bruce, and Faulk, but haven't done much since. St. Louis is a baseball city, and always will be. The Rams seem like the most logical choice to make the move to LA. -

Ok, the NFL accepted them in 1950. -
His salary may have been the only barrier. Almost $4 mil is way too much to be paying Roscoe.
-
Galloway is WAY past his prime. He could potentially retire after this season. Maybe someone desperate will grab him off waivers. And this is the news on Banta-Cain via ESPN: Roscoe was a 2nd round pick, is still very young at 27, and led the league in punt return average up until this year. I'm tired of people thinking our players "have no value". This has been the mentality of the Bills fans for too long. If you don't think TO is worth a 3rd or more, you're crazy as well. We need optimists in our fan base, our organization, and our players. No more glass is half empty BS.
-
Our front office has no negotiation capability. If you can't get a 5th or 6th rounder for him, that's just weak.
-
Ha! This might be the best QB class to come out of college in a long time. Just because ESPN, Fox Sports, etc have analyzed these guys to death, it doesn't mean these guys won't be good. I would take Tebow, Bradford, Clausen, Locker, or McCoy any day. This is the pick the Bills need to make. We can sign some free agents and make trades in the offseason to bring in d-line and o-line talent.

Got_Wood replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's true, but it was for a short period from 1936-1945. And they received the Browns in 1946. The LA area had the Rams for almost 50 years. -
It wasn't even 3 straight runs. We kicked on SECOND DOWN. We had PLENTY of time to run a play or even two plays before calling time out. This type of coaching drives me bananas. No balls what so ever.
-
Going back and looking at it again, it appears on the first long run that Spencer Johnson gets mauled by the Jets o-line and easily pushed out of the play. On the second long run by Jones, Stroud's effort is about as bad as it gets. He was easily pushed to the groud opening up a huge hole. Ellison runs right into the lead blockers and can't shed them. But Whitner was really bad too.

Watch this video: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlig...ones-highlights At 0:15 watch Whitner only. Unblocked, runs up to the line of scrimmage and reacts late allowing Jones to breeze past him for 64 yards. At 0:55 again watch Whitner. Once again he's unblocked and gets caught running up to the line of scrimmage in over pursuit. Once again Thomas Jones blasts past him for 71 yards. Byrd took a bad angle on this one also, but the first issue there was Whitner. I see this every week with Whitner. Are the coaches not giving him an earful on this pathetic run support???
