  1. He's a starting safety. 6th in the NFL in total tackles. Seems like a team with NO safety would pay at least a 4th for him.
  2. Maybe Whitner for AJ Hawk or Brad Jones straight up?
  3. I'm not completely happy with what we got for him (depending on the conditional pick). And I'll miss his style of play and personality out on the field. But this is great for him, and it's good for us. We've got 2 quality running backs that we can use more of now. And Marshawn gets to move out west where a team can use him and his talents. And he gets to play with a close friend, so I'm happy for him. Remember, our high 3rd rounder and one of our 4th rounders could easily become another 2nd round pick this year. (If we have the balls to make a trade).
  4. I think you underestimate the time Freddy has left in the tank. I say that Freddy will be good until he's 35. That's FIVE years left playing at a high level. Do you have any clue how long that is??? That means we don't have to draft another running back until 2014. Think hard about that. We have a great duo now between Jackson and Spiller! I'll miss Lynch, but this move had to be made.
  5. Green Bay, San Diego, and Indy all lost valuable starting safeties this week. Just one more opportunity for us to trade a position we have lots of depth at. Not saying we could get a 1st or 2nd in return for our guys, but a player or 3rd/4th rounder would be a great building block piece for this team at other positions.
  6. Going to 4 straight Superbowls is a huge accomplishment in and of itself. It takes a lot of wins just to get to the big stage. Some of the greatest players never made it at all. I do think that the sooner the Bills can move on from the past, the sooner they can become their OWN team. But Talley couldn't be more right about this group of spoiled punks. Whitner and Maybin were given more money than most people can dream of and they haven't proven anything in their football careers to justify it. To sit here as a fan and read their moronic Twitter posts about manicures and pedicures and going out to the nicest restaurants in town, it's just insulting to everyone who actually works hard in their life to make a buck. These aren't the kind of guys I want on my team.
  7. I agree. Those are some good looking uniforms.
  8. You can also tell that our o-line pass blocking technique is pretty bad. We're back peddling a little too fast out there, and we're not getting any kind of punch on the defensive tackles coming up the middle. Check out the video at 0:55. On the play we score with a lob pass to Martin in the corner of the endzone. If you look at our o-lineman, Wood and Green have a double team on one Jets d-tackle. The guy blasts through them both like swinging doors and nearly gets the sack on Fitz. What kind of technique is that? Where is the leverage? Not promising for our QB's out there. Green especially looks very bad on multiple pass protection plays, but looks good on run blocking plays for the most part (however doesn't hold blocks long enough).
  9. I know, it's painful to watch. I was just curious if I could see which players are the problem on this team. From this video you can see that Kelsay, Ayodele, Torbor, Cornell Green, Whitner (in pass protection), and even Eric Wood (tough game for him) were liabilities.
  10. Well worth that extension... http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d81b07091/Jets-vs-Bills-highlights
  11. I'm not convinced they do. They have had several opportunities to make something happen within the last year, and nothing has happened. In this era of the NFL, you need to be able to execute a trade in order to run a franchise. You can't sit back and wait for draft picks and free agents to land in your lap.
  12. Have you been to Green Bay? That place is about as boring as it gets. There is more to do in and around Buffalo than the entire state of Wisconsin. Bottom line, the Bills are an NFL team and any player should be happy to be on an NFL roster. If Green Bay could improve their team, they wouldn't hesitate to send their guys here.
  13. I agree. They've got depth at LB that we could use. Hawk, Jones, Barnett, Chillar, Poppinga could all improve our lineup. In addition, they have extra depth at WR we could use. Jordy Nelson and James Jones could help us out a TON. AND they just lost their starting safety for the season. We could throw in someone like Wilson or Whitner to sweeten a package deal with Marshawn. Come on, this is too easy!!!
  14. I wonder the same thing. Do they want this team to have a top 3 pick this year? Or are they just not that intelligent? I hope there is some kind of plan here.
  15. 9 TOTAL rushes between 3 guys. It doesn't even make sense to hoard 3 talented guys when you don't use them.
  16. "There are not enough balls," he said. "We don't get enough plays on offense to give three guys the ball. Somebody is going to be that odd guy out, and that's me right now." "It's definitely tough. I'm just trying to bide my time right now and hopefully things will shake out where I can get on the field more. I've got my fingers crossed." The time is golden to make a trade. Teams like Green Bay, Denver, Seattle, Cleveland, and Tampa Bay are struggling with the run and don't have a feature guy to carry the load. We've got holes in a lot of places. Especially if we plan on running the ball 9 TOTAL times in a game, having three guys is just plain idiotic.
  17. It's a common reaction when a team loses consistently like the Bills have, to start overreacting. We just installed a new scheme, players are getting accustomed to new positions, and we haven't put the pieces together yet. I attribute more of the dismal performance to the scheme than to the players. We have ZERO interceptions this season. We only have 2 sacks from the front seven. Edwards doesn't know what he's doing with this group yet, and he better figure it out fast. It became most apparent to me late in yesterday's game that our scheme is all wrong. The Jets had all of their backups in, including the O-line, and our starters still couldn't stop Shonne Green or Joe McKnight from gaining 6+ yards per carry. Linebackers weren't hitting the right gaps, and everything looked disorganized. This unit is not as bad as the scheme makes them look. I completely agree with this. These guys are being coached all wrong up front. They weren't getting pushed back, but they weren't getting penetration or clogging up the lanes either. It was as if they were watching what the O-line was going to do and following them down the line of scrimmage. Really strange to say the least.
  18. Take a look at their rushing stats through 5 games: 252 rushes, for 1,655 yards, 18 TDs, and a 6.5 yard per carry average. Obviously LaMichael James is a special running back, but it doesn't matter who they put in the backfield this season. They rush for over 6 yards a carry with any running back they put back there. Seems like a good place to start when looking to improve our o-line. Hire their o-line coach and take a hard look at Bo Thran, Mark Asper, Carson York, Jordan Holmes, and C.E. Kaiser in the next draft. And don't rule out the possibility of a dual threat QB in Buffalo's future. A guy like Denard Robinson or Mike Vick would be exciting to watch with Spiller or any of our RB's running along his side.
  19. Again, I think we're good in the front 3. We've got lots of depth there, and I think it's a quality group of guys. Between Williams, Edwards, Stroud, Johnson, Troup, Carrington, and McCargo, there is plenty to work with. You can't evaluate the effectiveness of the front 3 unless you have quality linebackers behind them making tackles and hitting the gaps they're supposed to be hitting. Poz is the only guy out there that was doing that yesterday. Davis is an adequate player as well. But the rest is absolute garbage. Kelsay, Ayodele and Torbor are all backups. Ellis hasn't proven anything, and Maybin doesn't even belong in the game until he puts on 25 pounds and proves he can even play in the NFL. I'll say it again... we're not as far as people think. Agree 100%. It would be a crime to keep 3 good RB's on a team playing this poorly, especially with all of the other needs this team has. We need 2 linebackers, an offensive tackle, a wide receiver, and a QB. Moves need to be made when your team is rebuilding.
  20. Take a look at who started for the Jets D-Line today... Shaun Ellis-Sione Pouha-Mike DeVito Ellis is the only legitimate starter on the line after the Jets lost Jenkins. Pryce, who they just picked up, didn't even play. Yet, the Jets looked great against the run. Why is that? Because they have a great group of linebackers. Bart Scott, David Harris, Jason Taylor, and Bryan Thomas were all over us today. I would argue that we have a good core of D-lineman on this team. They aren't getting pushed backwards, and Williams, Edwards, and even Johnson seemed to be able to take on double teams well today. The problem lies in our linebacker core. The only legit starter we had on the field today was Poz. Kelsay, Torbor, Ayodele, Maybin, and Coleman are incredibly weak. Andra Davis would have helped out a lot today, but that's not enough. It kills me that we could still have guys like London Fletcher and Takeo Spikes still on this team, and we could have drafted Brian Orakpo instead of the reach for Maybin last year int he draft. And someone needs to be fired for extending Kelsay. But this is where we stand. There's no looking back at this point, only forward to the future. I believe we have a good enough front line and secondary to make some noise on defense. We need to spend the rest of this season and next offseason looking for playmakers to add to our linebacker/pass rusher unit. We're not as far away as some people think with this group.
  21. We ride out the year with Fitz and Brohm. No one carries 3 quarterbacks. And we're not threatening to make a playoff run. It doesn't matter if we run the wildcat the rest of the year. Our next QB will come in the offseason.
  22. My hope is that they're still showcasing Marshawn and Freddy for a trade before the bye week. I think they know they have a special talent in Spiller, and they can put him on the shelf until they need him. This is the best case scenario in my opinion.
  23. I agree, I would throw the list away and take the win any day.
  24. I hear ya man. I have a hard time watching this team sometimes. But I'm hoping our days of getting beat downs from Belichick are nearing an end. I would love to believe we could put up points like that. But we've had a hard time scoring. The score would have to be something more like Buffalo 24 NE 17. Either way I'd love to see it!
