  1. This message board can have whatever consensus it wants, but you have to believe the coaches and front office have a better idea of this football team's needs than fans with -in all honesty - limited football knowledge. Clearly they have been wrong in the past, but despite that they still have more access than we do. And no matter how much we agree on prospects, I certainly hope my team tries to subscribe more closely to the BPA theory rather than drafting strictly for need, which has gotten us into the position we're in now.
  2. Personally, I don't see how this draft and a player that beat Tim Krumrie in a wrestling match are related
  3. I like to hear someone being critical rather ethnic rehashing the same tired stuff, but this is over the top. You can't fit a square peg into a round hole - if the Bills didn't like one of the QB prospects, why force it? I am certainly glad to didn't force it to appease bloggers. THAT is how you remain mediocre.
  4. I would say he was in 90% of the mock drafts people posted on here. Extremely unoriginal. Glad we can put it to bed.
  5. We're not going to fill every need in the draft. Free agency still has to happen. You get special teamers at this point, not veteran guys in FA
  6. You say this, then suggest we draft a TE instead? That is a mighty weak argument. Glad you aren't making the picks.
  7. You guys are brutal. Who cares what his intent was, he showed up. Now people bag on him for the way he speaks? If he makes a bad play and gets ripped for it, fine. But he didn't do anything wrong here. Some people are so tough behind their computer monitor.
  8. I watched every minute of each individual episode. I hold similiar thoughts. If I had to rank them based in how they did on the show, I'd go Dalton, Gabbert, Locker, Mallett, and Newton. I don't know where the "laid back surfer guy" stuff comes from. Did you see him leading a firery pre-game charge on the field? I don't think Edwards or Johnson have ever done that. And I don't know of everyone realizes this, but Gabbert is only 21!
  9. I don't know who has watched Gruden's QB camp, but out of the four that I've seen (Dalton is still on the DVR), Gabbert is the most impressive to me (o er Mallett, Newton and Locker). I think he is the type of guy you pick at 3 because he can be a top 5 QB in this league someday.
  10. In the grand scheme of things, I agree, it isn't good. But does that still apply to this one specific example? Would that win really have made some difference for them in 2011?
  11. I was in Ontario last night, and they were running ads on TSN for the NFL Draft coverage. In the clip, they show Stevie Johnson dropping that ball against the Steelers. It got me thinking: If he made the catch, we'd be picking 6th, potentially taking us out of the running for Miller, Dareus, Gabbert, Peterson or Quinn. Now that we know that, would you have still wanted him to make the grab and knock off the AFC champs? Or keep the third pick? Interestingly enough, if we beat the Steelers and pulled out one of those other games (Baltimore or Kansas City, perhaps), we would've fallen all the way to pick 13 based on our strength of schedule.
  12. I think the only that Quinn visiting the Ravens means is that they are doing their due diligence. You are probably reading a little too far into it.
  13. [quote name='Why So Serious?' timestamp='1302365828' post='2138662' If he played in the SEC instead of the PAC10 there would be no question in taking him #3 overall. The team needs a sure thing not another bust. Yes, because the PAC-10 is viewed in the same light as the Sun Belt Conference. Come on...
  14. Well put. As much as I would like to make the safe pick - and I am a person that is upset with how much we have neglected our trenches over the years - we simply have to hit a home run, or at least try.
  15. I would be really surprised if Thomas was still around that late. Despite playing at UB, he is a solid all-around prospect.
  16. This is not very reputable. He has a lot of incorrect information contained within his assessment.
  17. Who has compared Blaine Gabbert to Rob Johnson?
  18. I'll give a real answer.... I don't think they will officially unveal them until after the lockout. Like last time, I think they want to do a whole event to capitalize on new sales. If they just unveil it at the draft, they will likely not see the same sales pop.
  19. Yeah, reminds me a lot of Petting Manning at Tennessee
  20. 1. Gabbert 2. Dareus 3. Miller
  21. People always use that argument about athletic players, but seriously, when has a guy ever been a Top 10 pick at one positition, flamed out, then excelled at another position?
  22. 1. QB Blaine Gabbert - Missouri 2. OT Derek Sherrod - Mississippi St 3. DE Greg Romeus - Pittsburgh 4a. S DeAndre Michael - Clemson 4b. CB Jalil Brown - Colorado 5. ILB Bruce Carter - UCF 6. OG Bryant Browning - Ohio State 7a. TE Weslye Saunders - South Carolina 7b. OLB Tom Keiser - Stanford
