Lito Sheppard Traded to Tampa Bay

If anything, it's better for us. Now Philly has more ammo to trade up!! -
In the days leading up to last year's draft, I built this big board with two other Bills die hards (my brother and father) in six hours over two days. It took a lot longer than I had anticipated, but it was well worth it. I rank the top 24 prospects at each position. As each player is selected, I erase their name and replace it with the team that selected him. Fortunately, my fiancee is very understanding and writes out all 240 names for me (her hand writing is much nicer). I rank the prospects using information available to me and my own personal opinions. It was a hit at my draft party last year and it's ready to go for Saturday. I figured I would share with all of you fellow Bills fans. Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 I could not figure out how to imbed the phots into the thread, so I just posted links.

Bills interested in Sheppard

You're just being silly now. Crowell has been starting for three years now. He was near the top in tackles last year. He would be a nice starter on most teams. -
Shaun Alexander

Eh, it'd be nice to think that. But the Seahawks have known they're going in a different direction for a while. If that was there intention, it would have been more appropriate to release him closer to March 1st when more dollars were available. -
Hardy not a character risk

I don't know if I want a player that needs to be told not to hit a woman. -
I have gone over this draft time and time again. I keep trying to pick the guy I want at 11. I honestly cannot make a selection. I love Sweed's character, McKelvin's playmaking ability, Harvey's pure pass rush ability, Thomas' potential, etc. However, I just don't want to take any of them at 11. I know trading down is much easier said than done. It will probably end up with the Bills not finding a dance partner and just selecting the person they've liked best all along, regardless of whether or not it is a reach. But am I alone here? I get into the draft shoulder-deep each year. I just think 11 is a bad spot to pick right now. Unless something crazy happens and someone falls out of the top ten, I just can't see myself being satisfied with our pick. It has nothing to do with the Bills; it has to do with the state of this year's draft. I'm really looking forward to our second, third and fourths. *Disclaimer: I know that McKelvin and Harvey very well might not even be there at 11. I'm saying if they are, I still would rather select them later because I don't feel like they're worth that pick.

The Real mock draft.

I'm not saying we shouldn't go CB and WR in rounds one and two, but if that's the plan, I'd probably rather go Sweed/Thomas at 11 then Cason/Flowers in the second round. That's just me, though. -
The Real mock draft.

Yeah, I would be pretty disappointed with that draft, no offense man -
Yeah, so hopefully we can land him in the second round. From a sheer athletic standpoint, I would like McKelvin. Jenkins doesn't fit what we're doing, and Rodgers-Cromartie is too raw for my tastes. I guess that leaves Cason and Flowers as second rounders to help against the run, and Charles Godfrey, Terrell Thomas and Tyvon Branch as possible third rounders. I would be happy with any of the latter five corners.

I know it appears like this should have been a slam dunk for the Bengals, but it's not. Look at it like this. Let's say the Bengals use the Redskins' first rounder this year for Sweed, Kelly or Hardy. They would have to hope any of them would become as good a receiver as Johnson. So basically all they would be gaining is a third rounder next year. In terms of production, it probably won't help them much. So the trade simply comes down to what's more important: Ridding Johnson of your team or keeping him and seeing how that unfolds.
