  1. You don't get any compensatory picks for players you cut
  2. Isn't this just a default pick? After all the earned picks are given out, the remaining picks just get given out to all of the teams starting with the worst. If we earned a pick, we'd have two 7th rounders
  3. Ya, I don't put much stock in those videos. I felt like in this situation it was a nice supplement to his actual numbers and performances. A lot of Orlando people that have seen him play... very nice!
  4. I don't get this. According to their system, a QB could go first overall and spend a year on the bench (a la Carson Palmer), but he wouldn't be a very good tier player because he won't make an immediate impact?
  5. I get fanatical about the draft, but I rarely have a conviction on a player. The last one was Brian Orakpo <shudder>, but this time it is LB Bruce Miller of UCF. He's projected as a mid-round pick, but I can't figure out why. Some highlights: - College DE that projects to 3-4 ILB - 2009 and 2010 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year - Current active career sack leader in the NCAA (34.0) - Recorded sacks in non-conference games against bigger schools like Rutgers, Kansas St, Georgia and Miami - Recorded one sack in the East-West Shrine game - 4.76 40 time at the combine - 35 bench reps (most reps of all 22 DE prospects to participate in the drill. No LBs had more than him, and only 2 DTs had more) http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=9FABW6VvkrA Don't you guys think he'd look great in a Bills jersey?
  6. Yeah, I don't undetstand why everyone in this thread is acting like we'll have a choice to make. If the Panthers don't take hin, he is definitely a Bronco. Unless he fails a drug test or gets hurt during the offseason, he's undoubtedly a top two pick.
  7. As fans, we can only accept what our team hands us. So until things go wrong, we always have that chance of the winds of change turning. All I am trying to say, quite simply, is that despite our draft position, things COULD work out better for us than if we picked second overall. There is definatly truth to that, but I think a lot of times teams are able to control their own destiny, but in the end it doesn't matter. Statistically, there aren't a ton of trades in the top three. Obviously this drat could go any direction, but there is still a chance for it to play out accordingly.
  8. I think the Bills may end up being fortunate that they got the third pick overall instead of the second pick. - If they aren't targeting the same player as the Broncos, they will still get their player - The player will cost less - We will have the second pick in the second round, at which point it is more valuable to pick ahead of Cincinnati and Denver because Buffalo will be able to take the best player available (which is obviously important for teams with many different holes). Now, if Carolina picks Luck and Denver picks Fairley, I guess my logic kind of goes out the window (if those are our targets). But if their heart is already set on someone like Bowers, Gabbert, Peterson, Newton, etc., they will get him.
  9. I didn't get that from the article. I thought he was being somewhat optimistic.
  10. Mark it down: Jim Harbaugh will be hired by the 49ers and he will trade away whatever necessary to get Luck.
  11. Leonidas, you're off base here. The Falcons also sent the Chargers a second rounder the next year and Tim Dwight. And the original poster was asking if the package was enough including our 2012 first rounder- which I believe is enough to get it done, but not a smart move.
  12. Sitting in the stands at last week's game, watching this team get introduced in their current unis, I was convinced we need to make a change. Obviously, we haven't mad the playoffs as long as we've worn these unis. And at this point, they just breed a loser mentality. It's time for a change.
  13. Not necessarily. The odds of him being claimed are likely quite slim. Since most teams keep two to three QBs on their roster, it would be unusual for a team to go all th way through this offseason process, and then save a roster spot for a 7th round pick who has no handle on the offense. The more likely scenario the Bills would have to be concerned with is Brown being offered a spot on someone else's practice squad and taking it over us.
  14. Come on, do you really think the Bears would trade a TE they took in the first round - who still has performed well enough - for a backup QB who is on his way out of the league. Offering a third round pick is much more likely to be accepted.
  15. What is going on here? What am I missing? He has played for Buffalo for nine seasons. We have made the playoffs exactly zero times during that span. The guy has never seemed to care. If he did, this was the perfect opportunity to be a leader for once and set an example for the young guys as they transition to the 3-4. But instead he allegedly will only come back and play for $8 million a year if the Bills meet his other demands. I am sure Troupe and Carrington can't wait for this "legend" to show up mid-August when it's convenient for him. How is everyone - including the Bills - tolerating this? Seriously. Even if he was committed, I have reservations about how effective he would be in the 3-4. Now he doesn't know if he even wants to play? Give me a break. Just release him. Let me play where he wants. Thanks for the years, but you haven't been playing for free. You can't committ to the Bills; they shouldn't have to committ to you. The Bills will not be any worse off.
  16. Hey guys, just stopping by... What's everyone talking about?
  17. Oofh, Maybin is non-factor... Where'd they get that from?
  18. Right now, does this organization deserve a front window view from anyone? Fans, media, whoever? They don't. Maybe they are headed in the right direction, but one thing they should not have is anyone's confidence.
  19. Congrats Nick.... Since we have nothing better to do, is it fair to speculate that you left Schopp out of your farewell message for a reason? Wouldn't be Earth shattering to anyone here
  20. Look at what Tennessee got for LenDale White. Lynch, even in a limited role is much more valuable than the going rate.
  21. Yeah, I like him because he was so consistent in college. There were no spikes in numbers. He was a very good player for three straight years putting up very nice numbers. Essentially, he's bizarro Vernon Gholston.
  22. No one can make a case that Holmes isn't worth gambling a 5th round pick on. Yeah, he may have been a headache - but he's still more valuable to the Steelers than a fifth rounder.
  23. Not kidding. I couldn't believe it.
  24. I think Sporting News' draft preview ranked him the second amongst QBs, lol
  25. Even taking the lack of scheme fit out of the equation, if you were really going to pay one player $12M a year to play on the Bills would you really consider Haynesworth? AND give up a nice pick? Not how you build a team.
