  1. The second I heard the call I turned to my wife and said, "About 20 years to effing late..."
  2. Lamp is an acronym. L.A.M.P.= Look At Me Post The term is generally used derisively by posters in a thread who feel the a fellow poster is attention-seeking. It is also occasionally used, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, in a thread title when a poster has had a pretty cool experience or interesting thought that they would like to share, even if it is tooting their own horn a bit (see my thread, linked below, about winning a chance to hang out with Andre Reed and get pregame field access at Gillette on Christmas Eve back in 2017). You'll notice that I use LAMP as a disclaimer in the thread title, indicating up front that it is, indeed, not much more than a "look at me post."
  3. If anyone locates a clip of this, please share. I'd like to hear the analysis.
  4. I'm pretty sure that's the case.
  5. Nowhere in this thread did I see him state that his opinions are facts. Again, the PPP forum exists for a reason, keep the political BS there.
  6. Why don't we leave the political opinions in the PPP forum next time, ok?
  7. Seems to me that the head of officiating should know the rule book forward and backward. If he actually knew the rule book that he is the number one guy in charge of enforcing, he would have known that a player in contact with a player out of bounds is, himself, out of bounds, and would have overturned INT #3. That makes it a three point game, the Bills take the field goal on 4th & Goal at the one to tie it at 13, and we potentially have a different outcome. Things could have ended very differently if we were just trying to get into position for a game-winning field goal on the last possession.
  8. Saying that Josh Allen is at fault for being the victim of an illegal hit because he was running is like saying a woman is at fault for being the victim of sexual assault because she was wearing a skirt. Josh Allen was doing something completely normal and legal, and was hit in an illegal manner. The only person who needs to adjust his game is the defender who committed the illegal hit.
  9. My issue is with the fact that the hit was completely unnecessary. Allen was wrapped up, with his arms held to his sides, clearly on his way down to the playing surface. The player flew in full speed, head first, into Allen's brain housing group, when there was zero chance he was going to escape from the player tackling him and gain more yardage. Some of the hits that enrage me the most are the Donte Whitner/Kiko Alonso-esque flying in at the end of the play when the ballcarrier is all but on the ground. It is completely unnecessary and doesn't belong in the game. That hit and the bad call (even after review) on the third interception very well may have changed the outcome of the game, and that is when I have a problem with poor officiating and cheap shots. If that interception gets called incomplete, as it should have, take three points off the board for the patriots*, then we probably kick the field goal to tie it at 134 instead of going for it on 4th down at the goal line. Then all we would have needed for the win on the last drive was a field goal, and I'm much more confident in Allen putting us in that position than I am Barkley (with zero reps all week and having sat 3/4 of the game).
  10. "F*****g fascist!"
  11. Win the whole *expletive deleted*ing thing.
  12. "Hey, Dawson, what's the capital of Thailand?" "What? I don't know, coach." "Bangkok!"
  13. Right click on link, click "open in incognito window".
  14. In light of recent events, I'm taking the under...
  15. Wonder if the Patriots put a take-backsies clause in the trade...
  16. I don't do DFS, but yeah, I wouldn't start any of them yet (well, maybe Allen as flex in a superflex league). I crushed my draft, so I was able to take a couple of fliers to stash for later. My roster: Starters: QB1 - Ben Roethlisberger WR1 - DeAndre Hopkins WR2 - Mike Evans RB1 - Dalvin Cook RB2 - Leonard Fournette TE1 - Hunter Henry W/R/T - Dede Westbrook (WR3) K - Adam Vinatieri DEF/ST1 - Ravens Bench: QB2 - Josh Allen WR4 - Corey Davis RB3 - Kenyan Drake RB4 - Devin Singletary TE2 - Greg Olsen DEF/ST2 - Bills This week I'm projected for about a 30 point margin of victory.
  17. In my season long PPR league I have two Bills players (and the D). I have Singletary stashed on my bench as RB4, waiting to see how the carries shake out or to use as a bye week sub or flex player. I expect his load to grow fairly quickly as the season progresses. I have Allen as my QB2, because his running game can score big points if he cuts it loose. Sixty rushing yards and a rushing TD is the same number of points as 300 passing yards, and then whatever he does with his arm is gravy. I have the Buffalo defense sitting behind Baltimore right now because they have the potential to be great this season, but I want to see it first.
