We both kind of knew right away back in 2001, but we waited until last month to get married.

Philadelphia beer fans, I need a recommended destination
Billadelphia replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Some of my favorites: Monk's Cafe: Top 10 place in the world to get a beer http://www.monkscafe.com/ . The Holy Grail for beer drinkers. Kind of pricey, but worth it when you want to treat yourself. - Center City Quotations: Across the street from Iron Hill Brewery in Media, but alot less expensive. They have a great revolving selection of brews from all over. http://www.quotationsrestaurant.com/ . Last time I was here, they had the whole Ellicotville Brewing Company selection and the beers range from $3-$6, even for the Belgian's. Good TV's to watch the hockey game, too. This one is my suggestion for today, and if you don't like it, walk across the street to Iron Hill. Hawthorne's: Brand New, just opened up in South Philly by where I live. http://hawthornecafe.com/ They have an interesting system. The walls are coolers separated by regions of the world (i.e. Belgium, American Brews, Local Brews, etc.) and you can either have the beers there or take them to go. It's like a high end take out beer place where you can buy per bottle. They're new, so there are some inconsistencies (no TV's, have to spend $15 to use your card), but they have a nice fireplace and some good food, too. They also brew their own and they sell by the growlers. In fact, if you have a growler from anywhere, you can bring it in and they'll fill it for you. Eulogy: Pricey, but great selection & food. http://eulogybar.server101.com/ -- Right on Chestnut St. in Center City. Also, if you're looking for take out by the case, go here: http://www.bellavistabeverage.com/index.htm They have 2500 different cases of beer, and that's not a typo. -- South Philly across the street from Hawthorne's. Iron Hill is good, Yard's Brewery tour is awesome, Victory is also a great choice. -
Getting Somebody Back Using Their Cell Phone Number
Billadelphia replied to jangalang's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Go to Craiglist.org and put up a free add that he is giving away his barely used Trek bike because he's moving and doesn't want to take it with him. Make sure that you put up the add on a major city (Philly, New York, San Fran, etc.) and within minutes of putting it up, his phone will not stop ringing from people calling it until you take the add down. Make sure you check the box that says that you want to be contacted by phone instead of email and also put something in there like "Call Mike at xxx-xxx-xxxx). The best part about it is that he'll have no idea who these people are or what they're talking about, but he also will not know that it's you unless you tell him later. I did this to a friend twice and once I was with him when the calls started. It's a perfect storm of confusion and anger! Plus, once you take the add down, it will stop and you can either tell him or put it back up at random times. -

Donuts on the Slippery Rock football field about 8yrs ago got me my 2nd underage drinking offence, but thats about it. The other one was when I fell asleep on my own porch after going to a party and was woken up by the cops, who proceeded to take me from my porch to sleep behind bars, then brought me home in the morning and gave me an underage . Thats it for the times I was caught.

Keith Ellison is second in the NFL in tackles
Billadelphia replied to metzelaars_lives's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
c) He's so small that his tackles count for two instead of one. -
Hi Tim, What do you think about Josh Reed in the slot so far this year? Also.... Pete Rose: in or out of the hall of fame? Thanks.

Clements fails to meet lockdown hype
Billadelphia replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a good corner, and probably would still be the best that the Bills had, but I'm glad we got rid of him rather than pay him. His agent did a stellar job of getting him a huge contract. -
Alright this is getting ridiculous
Billadelphia replied to BuffaloBlood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They might take a shot on something like that, but with all of the guaranteed money that gets thrown around on the front end of these contracts, I can't see it happening. However, this will be his third season on IR, and his second because of a torn ACL. Possible, but highly unlikely IMO. If it doesn't happen today, it doesn't happen at all. -
They just released Joey Galloway as well.

Parrish is “finished” in Buffalo
Billadelphia replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That wouldn't surprise me at all at the end of the season. He carries a $4MM+ price tag with him into next season. He hasn't proven that he can be an every down receiver in this league yet, and he's a 5th year player. This year, he hasn't even shown that he can return punts effectively (or safely) like he has in the past. The only way he's traded today is if there is someone desperate enough for ST help that they're willing to pay his contract for just that. Otherwise, we'll probably release him at the end of the year and it will be Hardy or Johnson to go along with Evans & Reed. -

Cant see the Jets carrying both Jenkins (in the 2nd yr of a 5yr, $30MM+ deal) and Rogers (in the 2nd yr of a 6yr, $42MM+ deal) on the roster next year. In addition to the contracts, they play a 3-4, so when they're both healthy, it would have to be a rotation between the two. There's no other position that either could play on the line. -
Pondering the game and future of the team.

Billadelphia replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, April said that their avalanche onsides kick was the reason for that rule change, not the wedge rule change. The Bills ran a 3 man wedge and some other teams ran as much as a 5 man. In fact, most NFL teams ran a 3-5 man wedge, which was the reason for the rule change. Everybody used them and there were alot of special teams injuries due to the opposing teams trying to "break" through them by running somebody at the middle. Calling April a 1 trick pony is such an amateur comment. Best special teams unit in the NFL 3 out of the last 5 years, with April winning ST coach of the year twice in that span. This year so far has definitely been the exception to that, rather than the rest of the league catching up to him or him slipping. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1...bd-c8b39a5b0f4e -
Edwards should only look to John Corto
Billadelphia replied to The Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even for you, this doesn't make much sense. -
Maybe so, but they built one hell of a football team minus a QB. Ryan definitely gets the credit for Sanchez, but not for what was there when he took over. I think that he'll be a fine head coach, but pretending like he's responsible for the entire Jets team that was essentially in place when he got there doesn't make much sense.
-
Can't believe it took 3 pages for someone to make this point. He basically walked into an awesome O Line & a good D and drafted Sanchez. Really, his only real moves so far has been drafting Sanchez (which looks like a good one) and now picking up Braylon Edwards (unknown). If he can hold this team together, then he'll be a good coach. He's put them in a position to win, but he wouldn't be in that position if it wasn't for the past coaching regime and the drafts that they had. His attitude is definitely in the right place, but he wouldn't be singing the same tune if the Rams had picked him up as a coach and neither would the team right now.
